Computer access win. I'm just throwin' it out there that I'm still working on the things I posted in my submission thread, I'm just still on extended vacation. :D

My exams aren't until June. Same with Prom and Grad. Ugh, I can't wait to be done with high school.

I then plan on leading the exciting-in-the-kinda-way-where-you-never-know-if-you'll-be-having-supper-on-any-particular-night life of a musician. Or a writer. University and chance will dictate which one affords me a career. >.<

Brassman is really insightful. ^_^

I agree. I do also suggest, however, that you try your hand at arranging something for piano.
Or, make it even simpler, just arrange a short melody, single voice, for a wind instrument.
If you can't arrange. Just make one up. It doesn't matter how crappy or unprofessional or whatever you or anyone else thinks it is.
It's good practice. When I was younger I did arrangements with midi files.
It's not...an exact science...but you get to see how the different tracks fit together and how things work against and with each other.
Also, I have a feeling that if you're having a lot of trouble with rhythms or theory, you're not too advanced or comfortable with reading/playing music.
Make a genuine effort to learn an instrument and play it well!
And besides, even if you DON'T think you're any good. Don't be discouraged.
I started learning to play piano when I was 12. Way after the lucky kids who'd been taking lessons since they were 4.
And I play better now than some of them. Because I was passionate and dedicated and I still maintain that level of hunger for success, I mean I try.
I'm still not even fantastic at arranging, but, I plan on attending university for composition primarily, and the arranging--no matter how simple or trivial or unprofessional it is at times--is FANTASTIC progress. As is listening to all the music I can get my hands on, following scores, disciplining myself.
I wish you the best of luck. ^_^
Feel free to post any game arrangements in the submissions board.
And, any thing you do yourself in the home-made compositions section.
Good luck. C:

Meh, the forums are kind of polarized and dead sometimes. Necrobumpin' ain't that bad.
Besides, it's pretty sweet that we have a necromancer in the forums. I. Think.

I have two kitties. Their names are Lucy and Suki...but really I just call Suki poopy.
So, even though her name is Suki...to me she's just Poopy.
Ahahahaha

Ahahaha, brown team.
Also, with this site, necro-bumping is one of the only real possibilities. If it's still on the first page just let it slide.
Judging how he looks new, he probably didn't see the dates anyway.

Also, mine eyes art green. :)

Someone I grew up with's older brother died this weekend.
He was a really really awesome guy and my friend loved and idolized him like no one else.
He also happens to be the only person other than distant family I've ever known to have died.
So.
I just, feel kinda weird.  :(

Music / Re: What Song Are You Learning Right Now?

All you really need to tell us are the keys.
I can guarantee that the Prelude in A major (No. 7) is one of them though, and I'd chance a guess that No. 4 in E minor is the other one. It's commonly referred to as "Suffocation".

I'm transcribing "Bounding Through Time" right now. And I'm kinda off'n'on learning The Merry-Go-Round of Life or the main themw from Howl's Moving Castle. Other than that, there is no real learning project currently being undertaken by me.

Saying you can't/shouldn't/whatever 4-20 cuz it's the anniversary of Columbine and Hitler's birthday is essentially saying you can't celebrate or observe any day of the year. I can guarantee you that throughout the millenia a million atrocities have come to pass on your own birthday.

Anyway, I agree with Mashi. I wouldn't in any way want to diminish how vile I find WWII to be, but there have historically been more people with an evil bone in their body. Hitler just happens to be the most recent and notorious as he is the most fresh in our collective memories. Also, it's shocking to us that something so terrible could happen so recently that our great-grandparents were all alive and kicking when it happened.
Not to mention, the amount of literature and coverage WWII, Hitler, and the Holocaust have received have propelled the entire period of 1939-1945 forever into the history books and public sentiment.

And to end on a related note, NOT TO SOUND LIKE A STONER, but I'm pretty sure many of these things could have been avoided if all the involved parties had just blazed and relaxed every now and then, ahaha.

@Dude: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rwandan_Genocide :

"The Rwandan Genocide was the 1994 mass murder of an estimated 800,000 people in the small East African nation of Rwanda. Over the course of approximately 100 days from the assassination of Juvénal Habyarimana on April 6 through mid-July, at least 800,000 people were killed, according to a Human Rights Watch estimate.[1] Other estimates of the death toll have ranged between 500,000 and 1,000,000,[2] or as much as 20% of the country's total population. It was the culmination of longstanding ethnic competition and tensions between the minority Tutsi, who had controlled power for centuries, and the majority Hutu peoples, who had come to power in the rebellion of 1959â€"1962 and overthrown the Tutsi monarchy."

That'd be my other decision.
Or, that's the one I'm also considering.
