Off-Topic / Re: Official "I'm Away Topic"

Well guys, sorry if this is too sudden, but I will be leaving NSM shortly. Honestly it's been in my head for quite a while now but I feel now is the time to do it.

The reasons are pretty straightforward. Unfortunately, truth is that I've been slowly losing interest in checking arrangements and arranging altogether. I just don't feel like it anymore, and I find myself not able to notate in a sheet the idea I have in mind for a song, which is really frustrating. I can't see the point in arranging a dull transcription of a song anymore either. Also, I know that as an Updater, I'm not being helpful with my inactivity, and that's not fair for you guys. NSM needs active and dedicated Updaters to keep things alive, and I don't think I can fit that requirement anymore.

That's why I'd like to step down from my Updater status and officially stop arranging. Maybe in the future I'll arrange again, who knows, but I sincerely don't see myself going back to NSM to do so even as much as I love it. I know I haven't been the most popular guy, since most of my posts were only related to arrangements. That said, I did make good friends with people like fingerz, Jompa, MaestroAamir (now SirDino) and of course my Updater pals among others, and just for that my stay here was very worth it. That's not it though, I also learned a lot and even had the honor to be an Updater! For that, I feel I should be thankful to the whole community for their support.

In any case, I leave knowing that NSM has perhaps the strongest Updater team ever it deserves. We have our very hardworking,  recently promoted Updaters, JDMEK5 and Maelstrom, and the more veterans, Latios, Bespinben and Olimar. Thank you and congratulations for all your hard work!

So yeah, that's pretty much it. I don't want to make this overly emotional or dramatic, but it's hard to make this step. Needless
to say though, I'll still be checking in now and then to take a look at the new great updates and stuff!

See you guys around, take care.

P.S.: I'm also very sorry to say that I won't be leaving any of my arrangements aside from the ones already on site... Please understand.

P.S.S: One final arrangement.

Quote from: NocturneOfShadow on September 18, 2016, 08:35:21 AMIt's seriously unlikely that they'll actually go back to carts.  Zelda gameplay we saw at E3 wouldn't even fit one a cart.  Probably not even a compact disc.  Nah, the nx is most likely gonna be bluray

bruh

carts ftw

Sounds solid, have you considered trying to notate it? You already have half the work done! :)

Quote from: maxmic480 on August 29, 2016, 01:10:25 PMThank you! I made a version of my arrangement with the "echo notes", and I improved the other as well. (Link)

I think I actually prefer the original one, I find it more natural and peaceful.
But if you feel like it's empty, I'll submit the one with the echo, it sounds really good too!

Take that as a purely stylistic suggestion. As an updater, I would personally accept it as you prefer most either with or without those notes since none of both versions are wrong: it's your arrangement and your vision of the song after all.

His card was reprinted in the Generations set, so you definitely can d:

Could you please make a picture or something with an example? I can't see what you mean?

Quote from: Sebastian on August 13, 2016, 08:29:44 AMBeautiful job!
Notes are good. Formatting is good. Game info, copyright info, and alignments are good. Excellent job.

A few things I'd like to point out:
1. There seems to be quite a bit more space between systems 3 & 4 than any of the others.

2. Could you make M. 26 like M. 13 by clarifying that the right hand should play the top note?

3. M. 13-16 seems quieter than the previous measures. Maybe a mezzo piano there and then back to forte at M. 17? Same with M. 26-27. Up to you really.

EDIT: LOL...I ALMOST MISSED THIS. You're missing the "/" at the end of the url.

Excellent work with this song! I absolutely love the Donkey Kong Country soundtracks, especially Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest.

1. Funny, I just used the space systems evenly and it just opened a little bit the gap between 2 and 3, but left 3 and 4 untouched lol I think it just looks that way because the top staff is empty and the 2nd layer doesn't have the lower octave, clearing the space more than in other places.

2. Hmm not really, when there's just one note it's easier to do with just one hand, even more if it's an octave chord. It's also easier to do than having to jump with both hands.

3. Only having 2 voices in octave will always sound quieter than 5, but I guess it doesn't hurt...

4. The /? I don't even

Thanks so much for the feedback! Files updated.

Man, you missed a huuuge A in m. 3 and 7, the melody A no less lol
From m. 2 melody goes: G-F-E-B-Aaaa/FGAGAGA-GFE...

You may add it to the second layer with the E. Great arranging btw :J

Oooooohh, fancy :3

Great, your arrangements are very solid! Good surprise given that you're relatively new. Maybe you already arranged something before joining? Anyway, very good job.

I'm not saying there is no A, just that I don't see it as another 16th but as a grace note. Let's see if there are more opinions on the matter.
