Greetings all,

This is my first update as updater and I couldn't be more pleased to present the completion of the Unofficial Pokémon Gold Version & Pokémon Silver Version Arrangement Project! As was done in the past with Pokémon Red Version & Pokémon Blue Version, our talented team of arrangers have put in lots of work and dedication to bring you every track from these legendary titles in amazing arrangements. Some of these sheets are new, some are revisions or replacements from previous ones. As you'll see, Pokémon Crystal Version is included to complete the entire 2nd Generation. Congratulations to all those behind the scenes who helped bring this to fruition! And to both arrangers and general public, thanks for the support! Finally, very special thanks to Latios212 who hosted the entire project!

Happy playing!

Home-Made Compositions / JDMEK5's Homemades
May 26, 2016, 11:11:45 PM
I'll put some of my stuff up here eventually. I'll say upfront that very little of my stuff is actually completed because I suffer from a short attention span. For now though, I'll just post the first bit of my latest work-in-the-works. Feel free to give me suggestions and stuffs. Unfortunately everything I do so far (with little to no exceptions) is all MIDI aside from a few (often gross-sounding) garritan sounds.

Gaming / Assassin's Creed Empire 2017?
February 02, 2016, 01:57:08 PM
So according to 4chan (more on that in a bit), the next installment of Assassin's Creed is set to be released not this year, but next year with the theme being Ancient Egypt and the time period even earlier than the first game. If you don't already know about it, just google it or youtube it or something cuz it's literally everywhere.

I have no idea how many AC players we have here on NSM but whether you are or not, what do you think?

Personally I think it's a ton of bullshit. Even if AC is known as the worst series for early info leakage, believing stuff on 4chan is like voting for Donald Trump. It's a stupid move even though everyone is doing it. Essentially from what I can gather, someone went on 4chan, claimed to be a developer (showing no credentials by the sounds of it), and started ranting on about how it was gonna be like Black Flag (arguably the best AC game yet) but on a new system. The lack of extra detail and wording on the announcement also throws red flags up for me because last I checked, game devs were supposed to be smart and don't just leave lots of typos and grammar issues on public announcements. That's what I think but, hey, what do I know?

So I've done everything I can but to no avail to get my brother's shadow link to appear in my file. I want to fight him and vice versa but no signs ever appear and therefore they just aren't merging.

Yes, we've both set up our files for it and yes, we both have our wireless on.

What am I missing?

Help! / Slurs and ties
January 27, 2014, 08:44:31 AM
Say I have a pair of alternate endings in a song, labeled "1." and "2.". And then later in the song, (irrelevant to the first pair) I have another pair. Do those become "3." and "4."? Or "1." and "2." again like before?

Completed and on site

I must say I've never played or known anything about any Touhou games. But this song. Wow. I wantz playz. :J

Thanks!

Feedback / Live Feedback Indicator
December 29, 2013, 11:45:00 AM
I don't know if it would be possible, but I thought it might be neat to have some kind of indicator near the top of everyone's page (maybe under the "Total time logged in") that would indicate whether or not Live Feedback was going on. Olimar already has something similar with the big red "Online!" on the OP of the Live Feedback Thread, but me and my laziness started daydreaming about such a thing on the toolbar-thing. Thoughts?

Off-Topic / Where in the World Is the NSM Community?
October 28, 2013, 01:02:02 AM
Why, they're right here, of course!

At a glance (use link above for detailed map):

To be added to the map, just post your general location.

People will be removed from this list and map after they have been inactive on the forums for 2 years. I reserve the right to change this amount of time at any point, with or without warning, based on the size of the list and contemporary additions. But for now, 2 years seems like a solid amount of time. Also be aware that these will happen on "purge dates" which means basically every couple months or so (I prospect) when I feel like going down the entire list and calculating the numbers (which takes a long time; hence every couple months).

This is a "Fixing the Sheets" Project thread that is devoted to anything that is not the current focus of the "Fixing the Sheets" Initiative.
Have you fixed a sheet from a game that isn't the current target? You've come to the right place! Put it here to get it looked at and uploaded.
The list of submitted sheets below will be emptied every time this thread gets updated. (That is, when all the accepted sheets here get uploaded to the main site)

Rules: Altering the original arranger's name on a sheet without just cause is strictly prohibited. Fixing a sheet does not make it yours.

This thread is not for replacements. Replacements follow the standard submission procedure.

Fixed Sheets:
[GBA] Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga - Cackletta's Theme - Arranged by Dimentio - Fixed by FireArrow - Approved

What is the "Fixing the Sheets" Initiative?
The "Fixing the Sheets" Project was an organized effort to bring each and every sheet of music on Ninsheetmusic up to the current standard. Most of the target sheets were submitted before any quality standard was required. As a result, some of those sheets are abhorring.

This is the reincarnation of the original "Fixing the Sheets" Project. Everything is basically the same here except the roles have been ditched, and so has the wiki.

If you want to help out, please go right ahead. Having listed roles for helping here would be like getting a title for submitting a sheet to the main site. It's unnecessary so we're dropping it.

In no way does this project forbid replacement submissions from other games/franchises. This is simply a united, organized effort to deal with the substandard sheets one game at a time.

What you need to know:

-If you begin work on a sheet, post here letting me know so I can edit the target post (the next one) with the updated information. This keeps multiple people from working on the same song at the same time.
-Can't arrange? No problem; critique other sheets that either have not been looked at yet, or have just been revised.
-There is no limit to how many sheets one may work on simultaneously but I would recommend no more than 3 and strongly dissuade any more than 5.
-If you fix a sheet, your name will appear on the song list (on the Target Post) as the sheet modifier; however your name will not be listed as the arranger on the main site. Nor can you change the original arranger's name to your own on the sheet itself. This may only be done if the sheet was so dramatically changed that it counts as a replacement.
Altering the original arranger's name on a sheet without just cause is considered plagiarism and is strictly prohibited.
For more information on replacements, refer here.

Who to contact for questions, comments, and/or concerns regarding this whole endeavor:
Either Yours Truly, or Olimar12345.

I'm working on a super-secret project to fix all the Pokémon sheets starting out with RBY. However, I've never played Red, Blue, or Yellow so the following problem appears:

The song on the site titled "Elite Four". Where does that play in the game? I've checked YouTube, the OST for FireRed/LeafGreen and there's nothing that even hints at the existence of the elite four. (I'm not doubting their existence of course, but I don't see any songs that belong to them at all)
The song on site seems to be an altered version of the Gym theme. But the Gym theme is already on the site (horribly inaccurate btw; replacement in progress there) so that can't be it.

Because I've never played the games, I have no idea where this song plays, and I'm actually beginning to doubt if it's even in the games at all.
That's why I'm asking you! Under what official title may I find this song? (If it's legit)

Sorry in advance if the answer happens to be right in front of my face and I just didn't look hard enough.

P.S. You may now sue me for not having played Red, Blue, and/or Yellow. :P

Music / Jazz Piano Piece Recommedation
July 02, 2013, 01:17:55 PM
Anyone know of a good jazz piece for piano?
It doesn't need to be from a game, and preferably about grade 6-8 level.
I also need sheet music of course. :P

Thanks!

Music / The Song Recognition Thread
May 31, 2013, 03:17:11 PM
First of all, this thread begins with me but that does not mean that it is only to be used by me.
We just have a lot of songs that we of the NSM community recall but can't remember where they're from.

With each song, I will leave any other information regarding it that I know of to help out.
Thanks for your help!

Feedback / Common songs in multiple games
April 04, 2013, 09:25:28 AM
I've thought about this before, but what about those songs that make appearances in more than one game?
For example:

The Overworld theme from The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Ages is the same as Link's Awakening.

Same thing happens over and over again in the Kirby series:

They're not exactly identical but the piano arrangements would could be. I'm thinking maybe they should also be arranged and submitted under the other games/titles. (Insert all that are applicable)
The reason I say this is because some people perhaps may have played Kirby Air Ride, but not Kirby's Dreamland for example. (As was the case with me)
What do you all think?

Movies & TV / Movie Martial Artists
March 02, 2013, 08:05:21 AM
So who here likes marital artists? Such as Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Chuck Norris, etc.

I like Jackie Chan because he uses the environment All. The. Time. Sure it's all choreographed but it's still pro and plenty inspiring.
I like Chuck Norris because he counted to infinity and back again.

I also find it cool how Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee had Pokémon named after them. (Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee)

Your thoughts? This is also the place to name your favorite movies starring these guys.
