Come to think of it, it could have been green, for all I know. It's embaressing to admit, but I'm colorblind, and usually can't tell red from green.
I feel stupid...
Anyway, the grass type move and the green color seem normal, but why could it learn Flamethrower? Maybe it was some kinda glitch or defect or something.
