The NinSheetMusic Community Performance Project - Super Mario Galaxy

The NinSheetMusic Community Performance Project (NSMCPP) is an organized effort brought to you by the NSM community to compile performances of NSM sheets, ultimately to string together in one video to upload to the official NSM YouTube channel.

This time, we will be focusing on Super Mario Galaxy.

Alright, here we go! Some general notes:
- As you can see, a lot of the sheets we have on site are substandard. I encourage you to volunteer to fix/replace any sheet labeled orange or red.
- If you would like to claim something to play, you can claim any black sheet, and possibly an orange sheet if we can find someone to fix it.
- Be reasonable in your claims - there's no hard limit, but don't take an unrealistic number of songs!
- I intend for the time window for this to extend into the summer so don't worry about not being able to participate because of school.
- Any new SMG sheets added to the site will be added to this list and be available for claiming. If you want to arrange some SMG for you or someone else to play, go right ahead and submit your sheets!
- Once you claim a song, learn, practice, and record it, and post your video in this thread. As of right now, there are no hard deadlines for when videos are due, but I hope for us to be done within several months.
- There are no strict restrictions on video quality (as good as possible!), performance quality (as good as possible!), or instrumentation as long as the source material is a sheet on the main site.

Color code:
- Black - Unclaimed, and sheet is high enough in quality to print and play immediately.
- Orange - Unclaimed, but sheet will need some reworking and polish before a performance happens.
- Red - Unclaimed, but sheet needs either serious work or a complete replacement before anyone tries to perform it.
- Blue - Claimed
- Green - Performance complete!

Quote from: Oronoco on April 24, 2016, 09:13:58 AMI like the way the four-note idea in the RH lingers like an unresolved thought, so I think it's important that the LH begins a new thought (starting on the middle D) that doesn't necessarily answer the RH, leaving an open question (on that open 5th, too!).
Oh that's fine! I think I just got confused because the slur looked like a tie. But yeah that was my fault for reading it wrong.

Aside from that... everything seems perfectly clear and sounds great when I play it! Though, is there any particular reason you don't use dotted halves in 27 and 31 or dotted quarters in 37 (RH) and 39-40 (beat 1 LH)?

This sheet is just so much fun to play.

Ah thank you guys ^.^ Glad you enjoyed! (augh... not late at all...)

Quote from: cashwarrior1 on April 06, 2016, 07:31:45 PMNeed some beat boxing.

In the future, it's a good idea to get feedback through a personal arrangement thread rather than just try to submit directly. Submissions are for sheets that are nearly ready to be on site.

Another much-needed replacement. Not sure how to write out the intro yet, feedback would be great!

Quote from: Shadoninja on April 12, 2016, 08:16:33 PMIt sounds like you're missing a few harmonies in Puzzle Swap, like in measures 13-14. You could probably add the finger snaps in blank measures like the end before the repeat
Ah, thanks for the feedback! I'll get to that when I have time. Actually the reason I don't already have finger snaps in the sheet is because I couldn't find a good sound for it in the percussion...

ERMAGURD HI BLOOP WELCOME BACK

Submission title fixed. Feedback:

- Tempo marking is not functional - playback is too slow.
- There should be repeat signs - a forward one at the beginning of the second measure and an ending one at the last measure. You could also use a pickup measure.
- It sounds to me like most (if not all) of the places where you have the same note before and after a barline, they should be tied. Ex. the G in measure 2 sounds like it should be tied, not re-struck the next measure. Could be wrong though.
- You have some places where the top and bottom staff notes cross over each other. While this song is simple enough that it probably won't be a big deal, it's important to keep in mind how you would like your sheet to be played.

Jester Musician is a perfect example of a MuseScore user who's able to contribute. He makes some very polished sheets using MS that only need very minimal touch-ups in Finale.

Quote from: TooFarGann on April 17, 2016, 09:28:18 PMThat's truly unfortunate. It's like having a website dedicated to the intricacies of the Microsoft Word program, but only producing plain text files. See ya' around  ;)
If you're really drawing a comparison between sheets we've been put up and plain text files, you clearly haven't been looking at our sheets at all :3
