Looks like this is coming along nicely! The sheet looks pretty great

- You could add the upper guitar voice on beat 3.5 of m2/6 if you want:

- Staccato in m4/8 should be flipped (staccatos should always be on the notehead side unless there's multiple layers present)
- Break the beam in m14 LH and m20/24 RH to match the other spots in the sheet
- I hear the power chord in m9/13 restruck on beat 2, like this:

- The chord in m11/15 RH comes in on the downbeat of those measures, not on beat 4.5 of the previous measures. You can put this in a separate layer, then hide the half rest on beat 3:

- m10/11 beat 3.5 sound like they have a grace note before
- m17 RH should be beamed across. Adding grace notes to groups of four 8th notes in Finale breaks the beam for some reason.
- m18-24: Why no marcatos in the RH? It's part of the same guitar part as the LH
- m26-33: Instead of writing those long crescendos (some of which are intersecting stems), consider hiding them (and hiding the forte in the middle) and putting poco a poco cresc. right after the mezzoforte. This is useful for long stretches of slow, but constant crescendo-ing.
- m32 RH beats 5-6 (in terms of quarter notes): The melody here actually goes Eb-F-Db-Bb, only in this measure. You could keep the extra F's on the downbeats to match m30, or pick different notes to avoid repeated Fs, up to you.

Get everything that you can, and I'll help out with the rest

- Wow, if only you had taken the melody quiz I put this in a few years ago... No one else got it rip
- Maybe the PDF version looks different, but on my end, whenever you have a keychange, all of the cancelling naturals appear. What I mean by this is that when you go from F minor to F major, only 3 naturals should appear, not all 4. Likewise, going from F major to F minor should just add flats - not add a natural and then add 4 flats. You can fix this by just changing the Fmaj section to Dm (and check "Hold notes to original pitches chromatically")
- m22: That Cn in the RH is colliding with the previous beat
- You could add Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle as a composer if you want, since he wrote La Marseillaise (m23-26). It's such a short excerpt though that it probably doesn't matter and can just be thought of as a quote. That first melody though, I've been trying to find what that is but no luck, so it's probably original.

Cool sheet, it works surprisingly well as a piano solo, especially with those added fills you wrote

Regarding the 32nd note stuff, I think having the rhythms written out explicitly is fine, but I'd recommend this beaming instead:

It's just a slightly fancier version of this rhythm:

Onto other things now:
- The very first chord I think would be fine just 8va, it only goes up 4 ledger lines when written like that (in general, 4-5 ledger lines above the RH is perfectly acceptable - though maybe that's just my inner jazz trombonist speaking). It's only one note higher than the 16th note run after it.
- m13 RH beat 1: Sounds like G-C#-E-G instead of E-G-C#
- m14 RH beat 1: There's a G between the F and A here
- m17 RH beat 1: There isn't a C in this chord
- m17 LH/37 RH: Two dotted 8ths is actually the standard grouping for this rhythm, but you could also write it as a duplet
- m18 RH beat 1: This chord doesn't sound arpeggiated to me
- m30 LH beat 3: This should be C instead of A
- m32 RH beat 1: I'm not sure I hear the F in the RH here
- m32 RH beat 4: You could add an arpeggio marking here if you want
- m33 RH beat 1: There's another G an octave below the melody G
- m33 LH beat 1: There's another E an octave above the current E
- m34 RH beat 1: I don't think there's an A playing here
- m35 RH would be a good place for a little crescendo perhaps
- m35 RH beat 4: I also don't think there's an E here, but it's hard to tell
- m37 RH beat 1: There's an E between the D and G
- m37 beat 4: This is a dim7 chord, so it can be written many different correct ways, but in this case I'd suggest spelling it with Eb and Gb so that it resolves more appropriately to the Dm chord in the following bar
- m38 RH beat 1: Sounds like there's an A between the F and C
- m62 RH beat 1: The low A should be the D above it, and this chord could also have an arpeggio marking
- m64 LH beat 1: I think there's a D above the G here, just on beat 1 though

Looks great overall, these are just little details

Pretty sweet sheets here

Blue Dove
- Maybe use "Transcribed by" rather than "Arranged by", since it's not really an arrangement. Everything else looks good (also I'm a bit surprised this only the second Ace Combat sheet to ever be submitted here... nice to see some more)

Green Orange
- m3 RH beat 1: There's an F above the Eb that might be cool to add, since it clashes nicely with the Gb, but up to you. If you were to add it, probably put it below the Gb so it doesn't get in the way of the melody voice.
- m6 RH beat 3: There's a C in this chord below the Eb
- m7 RH beat 1: There's a Db below the Eb
- m8 RH beat 1: There's an Eb in this chord
- m8 RH beat 3: There's a Db in this chord, which I think sounds pretty cool but might be a bit too dissonant when you voice it right above the C.
- m10 LH: It sounds like the guitar part comes in on the offbeat before, like between m11-12, though I guess it doesn't really matter that much in a fade-in.
- m21 RH beat 4.5: The low voice in the lead part goes down to F here instead of Ab (which coincidentally aligns with the background voice too).
- m30 RH: Consider removing the upper octave (or making it 5ths) and/or lowering the dynamic in this measure; these notes don't sound nearly as loud or powerful as the ones in m29/31. In addition, it sounds more like Ab-Cb to me as the top voice rather than Eb-Gb

Platinum Moonlight
- The tied notes in the LH (between beats 2-3) sound shorter to me in the original, like there should be a rest on beat 3 instead. The reverb makes the note sound a bit lengthened, but I just don't hear the note itself that long.
- Dn in m6/14 should be Cx (chromatic neighbor tone)
- For m9-12 LH, consider putting the low notes in a separate layer. This more clearly indicates that the C's and B's on beat 1.5 of those measures should be played with the RH
- For m13-16 LH, the 2nd low note is impossible to play as you have it written because the RH is playing the melody now. I'd suggest removing it and just leaving the one on the downbeat.
- With a bit of hand-switching technique (this doesn't need to be explicitly notated), the high piano notes in m9-12 would be a cool addition. I'm getting B-C for m9 and 11, and A#-B for m10 and 12, all minor 2nds.
- m17/19 RH beat 4: The C in the lower voice should be D
- m18 RH beat 1.5: This beat should be D#-Fx instead of E-Gn
- m21-22: There's a middle voice here that you could include if you want (it appears in 23-24 and later also but gets in the way of the piano part)
- I think arpeggio markings work better in this case instead of grace notes, since they indicate the lower notes should be held as well and are part of the chord. You can find these markings under Articulations. Also note that some of the pitches you had were wrong (see image below for correct notes)
- m24 RH: Last note should be Db instead of C
- m25-28 LH: Last 2 notes in each bar should be moved up a third
- C's and D's in m29 and 30 beat 2.5/4.5 should be octaves
- m32 RH: Gbs should be F#s (D7b9 chord)
- With the above changes implemented for m21-32, here's how that would look (ignore the measure numbers, I did this in a separate file):

Nice sheet, just a few extra details here:
  • m18 LH: There is an extra 8th note Eb in the bass on beat 4.5, it's pretty short but noticeable when isolating the channel. Up to you if you want to include it, but the rest of the bassline is there so I figured I'd mention it.
  • m27 LH beat 3: The top background string voice still goes to Bb here, I'm assuming you changed it to G because of the RH? Same goes for using the low voice in m29 LH.
  • Quote from: mastersuperfan on August 29, 2021, 04:28:52 PMOn this note, I think m28 LH beat 2 might sound like an A rather than a C.
m28 LH: There is no A in the LH here, the upper voice on the downbeats is C-C-Bb, lower is G-G-G.
  • m31 LH: It might be cool to include the G-Ab-Bb line on the downbeats instead of Bb-Bb-C, since it leads into the Bb in m32. It's fine either way though.

I know that 2nd page is really tough to make out the individual lines with all the parts playing, so if you want files for the individual audio channels lmk

I give this one the gold seal of approval (but not the silver one)

Looks pretty good...
  • Maybe staccatos on those 8th notes on beat 4 of m1-4 (and 14-17)? Those sound shorter than the other ones.
  • Is there a reason why you have the last chord in m4 RH voiced that way? I hear the Db on top in the original (different than m17).
  • m10: The Bb right next to the A sounds a bit weird, like I know that's technically what happens in the original, but you might want to consider moving the last A's in the LH down in octave or something. Just sounds somewhat more dissonant than the original to me.
  • m13 LH beat 6: Weird how the bassline is F# here, but that metallic voice is actually G-C#... I think just keeping the F# is fine.
  • m16 LH: That low C should be D
#671
Sweet, I'll accept
#672
Man I'm really stupid
The C I was referring to is m10 beat 4.5. What you have in m9 is correct (and m4 is fine as is)
Sorry for the confusion
#673
I don't hear the G in m4... the Bn is very prominent to me and I'd argue better leads into m5 bc of the chromatic movement. I think what bothers me more is that I just don't hear any bass note on beat 4.5 at all so it sounds weird to me in the sheet compared to the original.

As for m9, I still clearly hear the C there, it's even more clear when raised an octave. I don't hear Bb at all there. On beat 4, the bass goes G-D (both 8th notes).

There's a few things here I still hear as it was before (this is just copied from the discord convo I had with msf the other day so it doesn't get lost):
- m19: I still hear the B in these chords, but the B on beat 1 could still be swapped for F, doesn't really matter
- m28 beat 4: I still hear the G here
- m29: No E here, it's just Fmaj instead of Fmaj7
- m40: I don't hear the C#
- m41: The B doesn't move to A here
- m44: I still hear the Bn here (Cmaj7 chord)
- m48 beat 1: I still think the E is on top here, the chord voicing is the same as beat 3

Some additional things:
- m30 LH: Bb should be Bn (you could also change the Ebs to D#s, but it's an augmented 7th chord here - it can be spelled many correct ways - Eb is fine I think)
- m58 LH: bass sounds like E here

This is just what I'm hearing at least
#675
  • m1/21 LH: This is a Dmaj7 chord, I would change the D to C# here.
  • m6/26 LH: There should be an E in the LH as well on beat 1 (middle of staff).
  • m26 RH: Accent marking should not be touching the stem.
  • m28 LH: The chords are missing B's (should look like m8).
  • m32: This is an F#7b9#11 chord, which means the Cn should technically be B# here. You can remove the courtesy C# in the LH.
  • m35-38 RH: It's up to you, but I think trying to find a way to incorporate the guitar lick here would be cool.
  • m37-40: This system is a bit cramped, consider spacing the staves apart more (you have enough room on this page to do that) so that the layers aren't so close together.
  • In m40, you have molto ritardando, and in m48 poco rit.. You could just have these both be rit., it's common enough an expression to where an abbreviation shouldn't be misunderstood.
  • m53 RH: Since this is in 3/4 and not 6/8, the second dotted quarter should be written as an 8th note tied to a quarter.
  • m57-60: I'd also try to include the guitar melody here, I think it's more important than the background chords. This would also mean getting rid of the repeat, since the guitar part is different the 2nd time through.
  • m65: Did you intend the A to be played with the LH? I think it's easier to just play the upper 3 notes with the RH alone.
