I checked Google Drive and Dropbox. One requires a Gmail and the other money, neither of which I have unfortunately.
As far as I know, Mediafire is the safest alternative, though I didn't realize it had ads.

At first I intended it to be more casual, but then I added a scoring system later and comepletely forgot about the comment bit, but I've fixed that now!

Unless I already uploaded the change, then the two 21's should be fixed when I update it with hints later today! :)

Weird, I was under the impression that Mediafire was safe, I've never run across any ads...
I'll check it out!

This looks like fun, so I'll give it a go too (my wips have finally found their purpose, yay!)

After 4 days I'll put a hint by each song in the PDF and on Musescore. Good luck, I tried to make it as hard as possible!

p.s. There's only one song per game.
p.p.s. DM me by way of Ninsheetmusic

Quote from: Libera on January 16, 2022, 06:31:43 AM-As I mentioned above, the bassline is where most of the inaccuracies lie.  For example, there are mistakes in the rhythms and the notes in every bar in the bassline before the repeat sign and many more after that.  For a specific example, bar 3 should look like this in the left hand:

Another question: I still hear the F hit twice?

The actual tempo is 85.5. Should I use an approximate sign (≈) or leave it as 85 bpm?

These seem good, fixed pretty much everything.
(Kricketune54 makes the conversion to Finale pdfs and such, so more recent updates can be seen on the Musescore ver: https://musescore.com/legoenthusiast/desert-city-dazil-xenogears)

A couple of questions:
Quote from: Libera on January 16, 2022, 06:31:43 AMFor example, the rhythm in bars 27/29 isn't right and the notes sound more to me like G -> F -> G there.
(bar. 26/28/30) I still hear it as marked in the MS file (Finale isn't updated yet). Also matching it up with the song tells me that the rhythm is right.

Quote from: Libera on January 16, 2022, 06:31:43 AMI'd also recommend simply cueing in the 'Ayah!' on beat 4 rather than putting it on a middle C.  (Also if it is 'A-yah!' shouldn't it be two notes?) On a similar note, is 'whisper' really what you want there?  It doesn't seem to match the sound of the sample.
The Ayah! is pronounced kinda breathy, and as pretty much one syllable. I'll leave as a vocalization for the performer.

Quote from: Libera on January 16, 2022, 06:31:43 AM-The time signature shouldn't swap from 4/4 to common time in bars 1 and 2.  Pick one or the other.
-The first bar should also be a pickup, rather than a whole bar on it's own.
-I think writing 'optional 8vb' is a bit weird.  I think it should just be 8vb.  Definitely though don't say optional 8vb and write 8va.  Choose a convention (either say 8va or 8vb, I don't mind).
I never had these on my MS file, I guess maybe it was an accident when it converted?

Thanks for all the feedback! :)

p.s. For a while I was a little confused about the measure numbers but then realized Finale must count the pickup bar for some reason.

edit: files updated!

Shoot, accidentally removed my comment while trying to edit it
Repost:
Thanks for taking the time to look over this! It all looks pretty good but there's some changes I'd add to these. I'm not at the computer right now so I'll have to give a more detailed reply later. Also, I was hoping that this would be relatively accurate, but since this is like a 6-month old arrangement I guess that was too much to hope for.

Unfortunately, I don't have Finale, so I can't make any of the changes :P

I think I may take this down and re-arrange it, since there's probably a lot more errors and I wouldn't want you guys to have to make so many corrections for me :)

Kricketune has offered to help with editing, so I'll work on a revised MS score and he'll update this

Piano Arrangements / Re: Arrangement Highlights of 2021
December 28, 2021, 11:41:14 AM
My arranging skills have slowly been improving, and I've managed to turn out a few decent ones this year. With help of Kricketune54, I'm finally getting some on site as well. :)

Honorable Mentions
Thunder Cloud Temple - Kid Icarus Uprising

I love this song, but this sheet still has a lot of errors which I'm gonna try and fix.

Faint Courage (Game Over) - DELTARUNE Ch. 2

A beautiful game over theme but I've done a lot of Deltarune Ch.2 and I don't want to stick another in the top 5

Ferris Wheel - Deltarune Ch. 2

This was the point where I finally felt my arranging skills had reached a relatively high quality.

This song is one of my favorites from the OST, the rhythm is really catchy and I like how Toby Fox layered everything later on in the song (I had to leave some of those parts out though). And as usual, Fox makes amazing use of leitmotifs.

Since I am doing most of Deltarune's OST, I could just make my whole top 5 Deltarune, but I decided to only include this one since I actually don't like Ch. 2's OST as much as Ch.1's.

Wind Blowing on Planet Earthfall - Kirby Star Allies

One of my personal favorites from KSA's soundtrack. There are still a lot of errors but it turned out all right and I was pretty happy with it at the time. I'm definitely going to redo it in 2022 and to get it submitted to Ninsheetmusic.

Phantom of the Bwahpera, Act 1 - Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle
Phantom of the Bwahpera, Act 3 - Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

I'm grouping these together as one since they really go together.

Ubisoft actually did a surprisingly great job with Mario + Rabbids and Grant Kirkhope makes it even better with the OST. The lyrics are just hilarious, if you haven't listened to the original, do it now.

Desert City Dazil - Xenogears

I've loved the Xenoblade Chronicles for a long time, but this year I've learned about Xenogears. Yasunori Mitsuda does an amazing job on the soundtrack as usual. Unfortunately, haven't played the game since I don't even own a PlayStation, but it's high up on my list of "games-to-play", so maybe someday...

This song in particular really caught my attention, it's one of the best desert themes I've heard.

Save the Kingdom! Ordeal Quest - Team Kirby Clash Deluxe

Kirby always has such awesome music. Modern Kirby is the hardest to arrange for some reason. This is my best attempt yet at a Kirby song, and I'm really proud with how it turned out.

The song itself is amazing, it sounds like a blend of Koichi Sugiyama and the normal Kirby style. It brings to mind specifically Unflinchable Courage, but the development of the motifs also reminds me of Sugiyama's overall composition style. I'm surprised no one beat me to arranging this.
