m3 and m7 beat b4 LH could perhaps use a tenuto marking?
#32
  • Maybe writing this over 2 systems would be better, to fill the page?
  • The last chord in the RH could use a fermata too
#33
Alright, I made the last few minor text changes myself and now this sheet is ready to go! Accepting~

Quote from: Latios212 on March 06, 2024, 07:18:18 PM- I don't really hear the top A in m. 31 beat 2? At least not prominently in the top melody line like the top notes outline in the rest of the section.
We agree about not being in the top melody line, but think it makes sense to include regardless. Everything else has been changed, thank you for reviewing!

Works for me, accepting now! Thanks for submitting :)

  • Seems like the BPM note doesn't match our new font requirements
  • m1b1 in the LH can be written as a dotted eighth rest, if you'd like

That's all from me though, solid job on this!

Yeah, that's what I meant, looks great! Before I accept I have a few more small comments:
  • My comments regarding the fonts (tempo, arranger text) are still relevant. Also, the n dynamic seems oddly smaller than the other dynamics, can you make sure the sizes match?
  • m9: Since the 8va continues onto the next system, it should be just a line with no end hook
  • m13 beat 2 LH: I think this used to be a half note? It makes more sense as one too, it should be at least as long as the RH beat 2 note.
  • Your arpeggio markings in m1 and m5 seem slightly slanted, ideally they should be completely vertical.
Let me know if anything's unclear or you need assistance implementing anything!

I'd rather keep it in the bass clef, as I think the ledger lines are pretty readable as is and it's worth the added comfort of LH in bass clef, RH in treble that pianists are best accustomed to :)

Thanks as well!

Quote from: gu on March 07, 2024, 01:20:56 PMIn the song, the final D and Bb still ring clearly, and I think writing rests might induce the player to cease the pedal, which wouldn't sound right
I don't think the pedal would be released, since the notes in the other layer and in the LH are still sustained (even tied!). Besides, these rests are in front of the notes, rather than behind them.

The reason I think the rests should be shown is to make sure the durations in the measure add up to the correct number of beats, otherwise it's not exactly clear when to start playing these notes.

Quote from: Latios212 on March 06, 2024, 04:44:09 PM- I haven't seen "tutto 8va" before. Do you think that's clear (and conspicuous, it's kinda small) enough that it applies to both hands for the whole piece?
That's a fair point, I opted to use the more common '8va sempre' instead.

Thanks for taking a look!

Thanks so much! Accepting now...

The notes look good to me! I think the pitches are all correct, nice work you both!

  • Pedal performance note: I don't think a note is warranted here, you can write 'pedal ad lib.' or ped. ad lib. and add it to the LH, con pedale style
  • m9+: I think the RH could play octaves here, to get a more full sound out of the piano. I also think that the low LH notes should be moved up an octave when they're further than an octave away from the upper note.
  • m34: Is there a reason you left out the low C in the RH chord here?
#44
Looking good!
  • Tempo marking: Can you go over the revised Formatting Guidelines and make sure it fulfillls the criteria? Also, there's a space missing between the rubato and the note
  • The 8va in m4 should end just after the notes, not at the end of the measure
  • m6: Grace note slurs shouldn't collide with ledger lines, so this slur would best be flipped upwards
  • m9-10: The 8va starts too far in front of the note here, and should extend until just after the notes in m10
  • m12: In beat 1.5 LH, I hear A instead of B
  • m17: I think showing here the 2 quarter rests is a good idea. Also, the 8va line starts too far left and ends too far right
  • m18: While this isn't a hard rule all the sheets I know of using niente use just the letter n, no period at the end

Arrangement wise this looks great! Oddly enough the Swing markings look they use MaestroTimes, but the BPM notehead looks like it's using a different font. If that's the case, you can use this Ó symbol :)
