Last time on dragon ball Z, Nintendo made the NES classic and it was awesome but impossible to obtain. THIS JUST IN: Nintendo just announced the SNES CLASSIC and it looks to be even more stellar and will probably be even harder to obtain. The line up includes EarthBound, Super Metroid, Yoshis Island, Super Mario World, Zelda alttp, etc. and holy shit: Star Fox 2: the game that never came out.

Greetings all! The updating staff is looking to add one updater to the team. This time we'll be trying something a little different though: rather than having us reach out to individuals, we'd like interested individuals to contact us. We would like to see if anyone here would be interested in helping out with sheet-reviewing and site updating (yes, the dirty work!). Keep in mind though, the things we would be looking for include some of the following:

-General free time to spend helping others
-A fair background of music theory/aural skills (you don't have to be a doctoral student at a university, simply being in school band or orchestra (etc.) would suffice. you're always learning/improving!)
-familiarity of the NSM formatting standards
-A higher version of finale would be extremely useful. You'll need something Printmusic or higher to be efficient.
-Willingness to work with others and communicate in a group chat (discord, skype, etc.)

If this sounds right up your alley or even think it is something you could see yourself doing, shoot me a PM (cc Latios, Maelstrom, Static, Bespinben, JDMEK5). We'll probably leave this topic up for a week or two to gauge interest before making any decisions. Disclaimer: there is no guarantee that we will add someone. We might also add no one; we're just interested in seeing who would be interested out there.

Remember: THIS IS NOT A CONTEST. We aren't looking for the "best arranger of all time," and this isn't just a chance to win a fancy forum title (although they are pretty fancy...). This is more of a chance to grow as a musician through analysis as well as working with others wishing to grow/improve in the same way.

I'm posting this here to help raise awareness. Stephen Sykes is a 26 year old European musician who was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. Treatment became too expensive, so his parents created a gofundme to help raise money for the treatment. Musicians around the world (particularly trombone players) are helping spread the word through what has been called the Acrobat challenge. [THE ENTIRE UNDERTALE OST]

This year on the first of April, we had an joke-update that insinuated that we were adding sheet music of the entire Undertale soundtrack to the site, only to add the Super Pitfall music to the site in its stead, as a joke. However, today we're not joking around. Thanks to countless hours of work from our amazing community of arrangers, we are more than pleased to present you with THE ENTIRE UNDERTALE OST in the form of piano sheet music. We had previously only hosted 21 arrangements from the title, but we now have all 101 tracks from the official soundtrack, as well as 11 pieces not included in the soundtrack. Greetings, all.

Unfortunately, I am sorry to say that the previous update including the music of Donkey Kong 64 has been retracted. Due to a miscommunication from several parties involved with the project, the arrangements were uploaded prematurely and were not quite ready to be posted on the site. Because of this, they have been removed from the site. Fret not though! The arrangements are still being processed here on the forums and the update should return once they are complete. Again, I apologize for the bad news as well as any inconveniences that have come from this.

Updaters win when all of the arrangers' submissions are gone. The updaters know each other. They have two abilities: 1) they can reject a submission (inverts the color of a submission in use) or 2) they can accept a submission (remove an arrangers submission when not in use). The updater does not need to specify which ability they are using, only the arranger they are targeting. This ability automatically targets submissions in use over idol ones. Each updater may use one of these abilities per night phase by pm-ing the host.

Arrangers win when they kill both updaters via lynch (lol). Arrangers do not know each other. They get two "submissions." These are abilities that can be used once per night, until they are gone. When used, the arranger gets to seer a random player. To use it, the arranger must pm the host. Once an arranger uses both of their submission, they are dead. Using the second submission also triggers death. At the end of every night phase, the total number of submissions will be revealed in the update post.

Each day phase the players will vote to lynch someone, deleting all of their submissions and removing them from the game. Arrangers who don't vote lose a submission. Each night phase the arrangers and updaters may choose to use one of their abilities. They may also choose not to use an ability.

Okay, so here's how voting will happen this time around. To submit a vote, PM me a message with the subject [Next Official Arrangement Project 2 Vote], containing your top two game choices. If you only want to vote for one game, that's fine too, but you can't use your two votes on the same game (similar to how a normal poll would work). In order to prevent inactives or people who have little to no intentions of helping from skewing the results away from the arranger's interest, any arranger who has at least one arrangement hosted on the site will have their vote count twice. That way there's more of a chance that arranges who actually plan to help out get the project they would enjoy. And I specify "on the site" because that means they have shown that they are capable of working up to the NSM standard.

As the title suggests, use this topic to recommend games that have generally gone unnoticed, or under the radar. (pls no Prof. Layton or Ace Attorney, (etc.) we all know those games exist! c: )

For example, Kero Blaster, by Daisuke "Pixel" Amaya has gone seemingly unnoticed by the gaming community. Made by the same mastermind behind Cave Story, this gem was simultaneously released for iOS and PC back in 2014. Gamers who have played it often make the comparison that, if Cave Story was Pixel's take on Metroid-style gameplay, then Kero Blaster was his take on Contra, and this is a wonderful thing. The game sports the same 2D, pixelated charm of Cave Story, and offers plenty in the department of replayability. The music is also phenomenal, but that should come to little surprise, given Pixel's reputation for creating superb chirp-tune, NES-style sound tracks. Unfortunately, time and time again, I find myself in the same conversation when this topic comes up:

Me: "So, have you ever played Cave Story?"
Person: Either "Yeah! Loved it!" or "No, but everyone says it's soooo good!/I want to!"
Me: "Have you heard of Kero Blaster?"
Person: "No, what's that?"

Then again, Cave Story was finished in 2004 and didn't really become a phenomenon until about 2010, so perhaps Kero Blaster will see it's time in the spot-light soon enough.
