Some of us are still here. We appear every full moon 3/4 waning gibbous.

It's quite an in depth topic but the reader's digest version is:
Slash = acciaccatura (what is most commonly meant when people say grace note these days)
No slash = appoggiatura (or sometimes acciaccatura in older editions, depending on context)

Appoggiatura (when notated with a grace note) takes away from the following note.
Acciaccatura is crushed against the following note, either at the start of it (ie on the beat) or just before, depending on the performance practice of the period/style/composer.

Piano Arrangements / Re: Arrangement Highlights of 2022
January 19, 2023, 04:08:22 PM
I only made one arrangement last year, a medley from Kirby Air Ride for concert band. It was something I'd wanted to do for a long time and it was nice to finally have an opportunity to do it and have it performed. I haven't posted it anywhere yet because I still need to redo the formatting of the parts, but when I find time to do that I'll post it.

Time goes by like.... go check out Beethovens 8th or Haydn 101... well anyway:
How are you? Does anyone of you young folks remember me?
I thought it would be nice to say hi and I am so happy that this project is still running.

Greetings from Austria from a period long, long ak
go.
Hey! Yes, I remember you. Long time no see!

I just use browser tabs or favourites.

Quote from: Maelstrom on September 30, 2022, 06:35:35 AMIt's not just that, forums are kinda antithetical to the mobile experience as the layouts just don't work there (and no one really made mobile versions anyway).
There are plenty of mobile-friendly layouts out there for each of the major forum software, it's just that we don't have one here yet.

Help! / Re: What do the bars by the songs mean?
January 21, 2022, 06:41:06 PM
At the end of each week, the sheets are all ranked according to the number of downloads in the past week. Then they're split into 11 brackets and given a 'rank' from 10/10 to 0/10, with each rank having its own colour. So the top 9.09% get 10/10, the next 9.09% get 9/10 etc etc ... and the bottom 9.09% get 0/10.

So to answer your question, there is no set number of downloads to get into a bracket, its just about the last week's rankings.

Site News / A Fabulous New Makeover
July 21, 2021, 01:22:04 AM
Ta-daaaa! Today, thanks to Shampoodle Shamdeku, NinSheetMusic is getting a little makeover. The first thing you'll notice is the new hairdo colour scheme. Now you could say was done to improve visual harmony between the layout and the updated banner & logos etc etc, but really we just wanted to look FABULOUS!! I mean, who doesn't? Speaking of fabulous, we also felt that the "Other" page had spent too long lurking in the shadows and it was their time to shine. So we draaaagggged them out into the spotlight and ooooohhhhh, don't they look marvelous? And now the staff have all got their shiny badges out on display too! Whew, all this fabulousness is almost too much to bear...

There were some other, small, not-so-stylish changes that are hardly worth mentioning here but they will prepare us for future new hairdos updates, so stay tuned for more fabulousness!

Happy browsing!

Summary of changes:
- New colour scheme
- Markup improvements
- Fonts are now local
- Staff badges now appear on news posts
- Consoles are now listed with each game when browsing sheets. Clicking on the console name will link you to the console page
- "Other" now stands out a little more on the series list page and quick browse, in addition to being moved to the bottom of both places

Site News / Re: File download/upload issues fixed
February 06, 2021, 02:24:46 PM
Hmm, that sounds like a browser caching problem. I am able to download all the files you mentioned without any issues. Have you tried either clearing your cache (or in the case of PDFs which open in the browser, you can open the link and press Ctrl+F5 on the page that appears)? Some browsers have been known to cache pages for longer than they should which can lead to issues.

You could just replace the C# in the RH with a D if you wanted but I agree that it sounds good as-is. The addition of the D just creates another suspension and since there is already a suspension in the melody, it already has that suspension-y sound.

I was arranging this track I would do something a little different at measure 13.

The reason I would do it this way is not for playability, but for the colour. Having the notes of the middle voice repeated again one note later in the lower voice creates a slightly more strident sound. For my taste it's just a little bit too much and I think that the sound of the more sparse version I posted above better reflects the mood and timbre of the original.

It's your arrangement, so it's up to you how you want to go about it but hopefully there's some food for thought.

Quote from: Olimar12345 on November 14, 2020, 08:45:09 AMGood luck! Just so you know though, this is a portion from the Majora's Mask ending credits track. Here's the full track:

Right, good to know!

So, I do the long one from the end credits and not the ~35second track from the middle of disc 2?

Perhaps something like this might fit better?
