Tell your fellow arrangers(if you know where or how to contact them) to wake back up and start coming back! I'm going to be doing weekly updates for as long as time permits, and those who aren't lurking about the forums might miss their chance to clear out those month and month(possibly year) old submissions! Come on! With all of your help we can make this "weekly update" idea/fantasy a reality.

Or, if people aren't submitting you can go through individual topics like we used to do it.  That way you can delete topics if people are inactive and have arrangements that were accepted.

Yes, this is also a reasonable way to do it.  Maybe even do a "necro-update" and start at the back to clean out the logs.

Nakah

That just speaks of hours and hours of searching, and while I don't necessarily object to that, I'd like to try and avoid it and keep things at a neat pace. For now I'd rather keep things the way they're going to let the arrangers that are still around to regain their morale.

Nintendude73

Oh, I agree, it's just that some people will likely never be back and it couldn't hurt to clear some of that gunk out.

HugoMeister

Get rid of the space for those who are actually going to use it then. Don't complain "its hard to go through", it's not going to get better until you do something about it.

Want to help with that then? It's enough work to just make the update when the songs are right there for you, but searching for old sheets that didn't see an update is going to make the process much longer. I never said I was objected to it, but I'd like to try and get the current arrangers going again first before I delve into the older stuff. If you think you can bring around 10-20 sheets into the thread or link me to these threads that would help a whole lot.

HugoMeister

I'm not complaining about it. ;)

Or, you could warn everyone ahead of time to copy their topics, then delete everything in the submissions forum.  Would definitely clean out a bunch of crap.

I know. Really though, 3 updaters may be enough when the forum is afloat and constantly moving, but when it's backed up like it is now we are in definite need of some extra assistance if we want to get things up to date by next july at the rate it is.

I don't care, I'll do it either way just not at the moment. I want to kickstart the current arrangers, then go back to the forgotten sheets, then work my way back up to present.

The Deku Trombonist

As far as looking through the old arrangements is concerned, many of them aren't that great and need fixing up (I spent an afternoon looking through all of them once). If we fix up some of the old ones, do we submit them as our own in the submission topic or seperately under the original arrangers name or what?

Brassman388

Only if you fix them up and somehow make it your own. You can't copy another arranger's work.

The Deku Trombonist

Of course it's still the original arranger's work, I didn't mean that. I meant do we submit it as one of the 3 we're allowed to submit or does it count as an extra?  Or do we just not bother.

I'll have time later today to go through a bit of old submission threads. I'll edit this post with the links that are still active (I'll start with the oldest threads), and a list of other not-on-site-arrangements that were done, but never submitted, but the links expired. I haven't been around much, but I know some of you guys have, and if you still have contact with the gone members, you can urge them to come back, just to refresh the links.

Sounds okay?

Okay, here goes.

Link means, obviously, unsubmitted arrangement
Red colour means unarranged song, but dead link
Blue text is for my own comments
I won't list rejected arrangements, promised arrangements (as in, there were never any links), or songs already arranged (unless the links are active).
If said links are active, I'll post them. Even though it's sometimes glaringly obvious which version is the best, I'll let you decide.

That concludes all the topics from page 6 and 7 and 5 in this forum. I may do 5, 4, 3, and 2 later. Just looking at this took me one and a half hour.

Hope I was of help.

Yes, I'm still around from time to time. For quicker response, you can reach me by PM, or drop by Smogon to say hi. I go by "Codraroll" there, because of a bet.

Umm, what about submitting some-one elses arrangements for them, so we get the arrangements up, but then you can get rid of their submission thread, so that work isn't wasted if they never come back, but it would clean it up?
