Fuck logic, that shit is boring, lame and does not always support my opinions.

Thanks. For a moment there I was worried, though. I almost needed to blow you.

Shadoninja

I stopped playing platinum because it's soooo boring.

SlowPokemon

Same here, actually. I prefer Gen III.

Also, speaking of GenIII, have you ever noticed that May and Brendans' themes are the same as the Ever Grande City theme? It's also heard somewhat differently on Route 104. :P

I never really paid much attention to their themes. May have to take a listen.

Speaking of Gens, I noticed that Red is the only protagonist that does not have any mandatory interaction with the mother. the closest thing would be in FR/LG when the mother gives the running shoes to the aide to give to you after you beat brock.

Gold gets the pokegear from his mother and she also saves money for you.
Ruby has a few conversations about the father, tells you to change the time on the clock, and gives you running shoes.
Diamond gets a few messages about their rival and warnings not to go into the grass, tells them to thank rowan, and even finds out that she participates in contests.

Yep, in the originals there WERE no running shoes, so there is no mandatory conversation--if you talk to her, she says, "Right...all boys leave home someday. It said so on TV."

-_-

Sekter77

Not only is it strange that there is no mandatory interaction with the protagonist's mom, there's no reference whatsoever to a father for some reason. There's also the fact that these characters are 10 years old when they go off exploring an entire continent on their own!

Pokemon is actually really screwed up if you think about it. Just visit TV Tropes' Nightmare Fuel page for Pokemon and you'll find tons of examples.
Guitar and video games.

Jub3r7

Although the father has been a definite source of fan fiction.

Red/Ash's father might possibly be the champion in some region far away.

You are absolutely right... Many people consider Ash's mom "overcaring". She wouldn't let him go on his own, if she would be a good mom... xD

A lot of people think that giovanni is his dad... *cough*

But this is utmost ridiculous xD.
Check out my arrangements! I mean it! Check them out!

SlowPokemon

No, Giovanni is the rival in Gold and Silver's dad. Seriously, it's a fact. :P

^Yep. It also is in the Pokemon manga so there's no reason to say it's not true.

Cobraroll

^^There's no saying that Silver can't be Ash's half-brother, I think... or even brother, but I guess Delia would care about both her kids, if she had two.
Emergence - a story exclusive to NSM

Yes, I'm still around from time to time. For quicker response, you can reach me by PM, or drop by Smogon to say hi. I go by "Codraroll" there, because of a bet.
