Another thing! A MIDI for the Main Menu theme is available at VGMusic: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/other/miscellaneous/piano/index-gr.html
You may want to use that as a sort of "base" to start out with.

I've never heard of this game before. 1999? My computer's out of commission, so I'm afraid I can't help :(

Yep; 1999. I've found that, since Ubisoft took over the franchise, very few people have actually heard of it. However, there's still several dedicated fan sites.

If I download Finale Notepad 2012 (and have enough time on my hands), then I'll arrange the Main Menu theme.

Good luck

Uh, I have a quick question concerning the copyright of the main menu theme sheet:
The company that developed the game, New World Computing, went out of business in 2003 (or rather, was dragged down by the 3DO Company) and the license was sold to Ubisoft. I was wondering who the copyright should be listed for: New World Computing, its parent organization, or Ubisoft?  ???

Finale Notepad seems to hate me; I already have the song semi-arranged on another program, but I can't seem to transcribe it over that well to Finale. It's surprisingly difficult to work with. :o

Notepad is - no joke - designed to frustrate you, that way you'll be compelled to purchase a higher model.

I really don't understand why people continue to torture themselves with Finale Notepad, it's like cancer.. Check out www.musescore.org, it's open source and is 100% free. Made by the users, for the users, regularly updated. It might take time to get used to at first but it supports much much more than finale notepad, including cross-staff beaming, etc, and it will never ask you for money. Export your music to MusicXML (.xml) format, then open it in musescore.

I already downloaded it a few months ago... it's great; I already have the HoMM III Main Menu Theme arranged on that (however, it's a bit rough in some spots).

I changed the file extension to a .mus file, and now I have it on Finale. However, it's rough, and not entirely completed. I was wondering if someone could help me add things to it (e.g. metronome marking,  measure numbers) in order to comply more with NSM's standards for submissions. I'm not entirely familiar with the inner workings of Finale.

Also, what website would you recommend that I upload the finished files (not Mediafire; it has some viruses on it, and I wouldn't want to risk going on it) to?

I've transcribed a version of the Main theme and Necropolis theme I found on youtube. This is my first attempt at writing down music, so don't expect much. It's basicly just the notes in correct order. I also made sort of a video tutorial where I play the themes slowly shot from above.

Necropolis:

"Tutorial": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNEYOoM-NQQ
Original version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJAfIpAzaPE#t=25m08s   (This is the composer playing. It starts at 25:08)

Main theme:

I also made Inferno, Rampart, Tower and Waiting theme if anyone might be interested.
