The scene reminds me of Ys III's Pre Final boss cutscene, where Adol (The Hero) rises to fight the ultimate foe. Maybe this plays before an important boss fight?

I'm also disappointed that you never fight Team Skull.. At least in the main game. I feel like it would've been fitting to fight them for the water float or something, Idk... I mean, Rescue Team had the fight with Team Meanies, and it fit perfectly well.
Oh, and I'm a Pikachu, and Thunderbolt hits everyone around you, and my partner is a Torchic with Overheat. This game is easy, also because I take way too much time to do missions XD (at Diamond rank right now at temporal tower).

The Nico Nico page says that they're going to play the anime special for EoT/D at 11:30. There's nowhere saying anything about any time reserved for any potential SPMD announcements, so I guess it's just going to be a surprise.
