What instrument is this?

What's the low-pitched instrument playing in the following pieces of music? I assume it's some sort of percussion instrument with a pitch bend?

EDIT: I found something that resembles the above... It's a 'moose call', and it can either be done on a conga drum or a bongo drum. But I'm not sure if it's the exact same thing as above.

Maelstrom

Sounds like a midi percussion sound with a bend effect.

InsigTurtle

Hmm, what I found interesting is that in the original MIDIs that I could find, none of them used a percussion instrument for that sound, instead using different instruments. I'm guessing the soundfont they use just makes that sound for that pitch and instrument, which doesn't really help me find which instrument it is.

Maelstrom

I think you are overthinking it. Each and every one of those songs you provided are from completely synthetic instruments. There is nothing to suggest that it is an actual instrument without an added effect.

InsigTurtle

Ah, the reason why I'm so insistent is because I'm trying to use the same instrument in some of my own stuff, but I can't seem to be able to find the name of it. I don't care if it's synthetic or not, as long as I'm able to use it.

Tobbeh99

That's a Tabla Drum, a traditional Indian drum.

Here's the wikipedia article:

And here are some concerts of tabla performance:
