For me, Jet Force Gemini(I finally beat it by the way) You have to rescue 286 bear-things, and if any die you have to start the level over again.
I love Jet Force Gemini! The only thing I didn't like was the N64 Controll Scheme. If they would release it on Virtual Console, so you could use the GCN or Classic controller it would rule!!
For me, the most annoying game would be Star Wars Episode 2 for the Gameboy Advance (Gahh....that was sOOO bad!!!)
when you say "annoying" your saying that the worst game Ive played or the hard game Ive played?
if it is the worst, maybe Men in Black 2, but normally, I like bad games :P like Gothic 2 (its full of bugs and the controls are terrible, but the story is awesome). ISS2 its FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLL of bugs and the controls are really really bad!!!!! but I spent almost 2 years playing this game

The control scheme wasnt that bad. It just got annoying having to redo levels like the lodge because a drone threw a grenade to close to a tribal... Other than that, it was awesome.

bad memories... but it was a good game. but annoying.
But even Navi can't destroy the greatness of that game, haha!
I don't remember the most annoying game I've played because I probably didn't finish it.
Rogue Squadron for N64. Sullust-missle turrets everywhere and you're in a Y-Wing. Oh...yeah, and
Rogue Squadron? Where's our cover
Rogue Squadron?
Rogue Sqaudron? Where's our cover?
Rogue Squadron! We need fighter support!
AHHHHH!!!
Mission Failed.
Not once I got bothered by Navi.. Probably because I couldn't read the texts back then.
I actually don't play annoying games, so can't answer this one.
ROFL!!!!! Rogue Squadron. It's actually a good game......it's just the Y-Wings stink!!!

(dont hurt me gamer...)
Ooh I totally agree with Star Wars, what a horrible game ::)

IWBTG is the most awesome, annoying, and hard game I've ever played.
A Nightmare on Elm Street for NES.
It was crazy and weird. You had to collect every single bone everywhere to get to Freddy, and when you get all the bones, you don't know where to go, because usually the you can't go through closed doors. But then you have to go through a closed door when you get all the bones. You can only have good powers when you are dreaming, and the last boss, Freddy, just goes back and forth, jumping and slashing air, because he is programmed to do that, not attack you. It was a really crappy and confusing game.
I guess Mario Kart Wii deserves an honourable mention.
Cruising towards the goal, only one turn left of the final lap, and I've been in the lead the entire race.
*whoosshhh*

No matter how good you drive, you may end up at some random spot because you're carpet bombed with items the last few hundred meters. An easy way to win is to stay at place 8 or so, getting awesome items, and bomb your way up to second, and put all your eggs in the "red shell basket". But if you take the lead from the start, you'll face four to five items in quick succession (how come the POW blocks always hit you one sec after the Blooper has appeared, so that you can't see it?), at the worst possible time. I've turned off items once, and as soon as I broke free of the cluster, I was in the lead the entire race. And won by 45 seconds.
Quote from: Cobraroll on February 12, 2009, 12:40:04 PMNo matter how good you drive, you may end up at some random spot because you're carpet bombed with items the last few hundred meters.
I FREAKIN HATE THAT!!! That's kinda why I stopped playing
This is why you don't quote posts.
Zelda II is pretty dang annoying, even at the beginning, but I think for me the award goes to Donkey Kong Country 3 on the SNES, due to that annoying lightning stage near the end. I nearly shouted myself hoarse after that.
hero mode on donkey kong country was pretty annoying
...the first time I played metroid...
I'm too lazy to write why... I'm sure you know if you PLAYED THE FREAKIN' ORIGINAL BEFORE THE FREAKIN' REMAKE WITH THE FREAKIN' MINIMAP THAT WE TAKE FOR GRANTED and should indeed be in Metroid BUT NOOOOOOooooOOOOOO YOU HAVE TO GRIND YOUR WAY PAST ENDLESS CORRIDORS THAT LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME with ABSOLUTELY no idea at ALL where the F*** you are going UNLESS you have SOMEHOW completed the game before or are using a GODDAMN WALKTHROUGH or have completed the remake and know your way around BUT that doesn't prevent endless dieing because of NO SM POWERUPS and NO DIAGONAL SHOOTING OR CROUCH!!!
I gotta say though, I do love the music.
I agree. I lasted about 20 seconds before getting comletely lost.

It definately got to my head.
Where should I begin... ???
I don't think any game has frustrated me as much as Mario Kart Wii. Comeback AI is one of the few things that makes me want to punch inanimate objects.
Actually...
I can't recall the exact name of the mini-game, but in Twilight Princess, in the fishing pond's hut, you can play a minigame which is enormously irritating (yet agonizingly addictive). I'll look it up later.
Edit: It's called rollgoal. Made me throw my controller. Oh well, it happens, right? :D

EDIT: 500th post woop.
ehhh... almost all of the all uber glitched.
Like AQ worlds...
My friend finds that the most fun game ever.
It was fun for like, three days. And I've never been able to play runescape more than one week out of the year because it get really old. Right now I'm currently playing Tales of Pirates which is suprisingly good. Probably the best 3-D f2p I've played yet. Rapelz is supposed to be really good for an f2p as well. But it would take up a crap ton of space on my computer and probably wouldnt even run on mine cuz mine's so bad.
I got bored of AQ worlds after 10 mins.
Quote from: Tranzlater on April 19, 2009, 07:59:07 AMQuote from: Sir Awesomesauce on April 18, 2009, 09:55:35 PMI don't think any game has frustrated me as much as Mario Kart Wii. Comeback AI is one of the few things that makes me want to punch inanimate objects.

No, I mean how, even if you were to race in world record time on a track, the computers would always manage to catch you, through blue shells, bullet bills, red shells or otherwise.
^Turn off items once, and get ahead of the field. Drive as usual, you should win by about 30-50 seconds. That shows how good the AI really is without those items.
Another annoying game: James Bond NightFire. Okay, I admit it's awesome at times, that is, until you discover that the AI bots are capable of:
- Unlimited ammo, they can reload ad infinitum if they got a weapon (you get Golden Gun with 2 bullets, while they can keep firing forever)
- Zero time elapse in weapon switch, they can change from Bazooka to Sniper rifle in the blink of an eye. Also, they don't have to scroll through the entire weapon list to find the preferred weapon.
- Turn around about 50 times faster than you, going from running away with only a gun, to pick up, reload, turn around and fire in literally no time. That will take a human character about five seconds to do.
- Sneak around tripmines; a friend and I filled a place with explosives once, there were only two ways in. Still, they shoved up in the room we were hiding in. We killed them, went back to the mined area, and saw that no bombs had gone off.
- And they always follow the same preset path from destination A to B, making the game really predictable if you have few bots.
The game is also a bit annoying in the fact that the largest, most open and generally most awesome stage is locked for AI bots. Only one person can play as Bond, who is the only male MI6 player, and you can't set MI6 players against each other, so only one person on the "good" team can play in free-for-all matches.
Can still be fun, though. Machine gun shootouts (less than three)!
I still haven't found the item turn-off feature.
But yes. Items are bloody annoying.
For me, it was Mario vs. Donkey Kong. There was one level that I could never beat. I know that it's possible to do, but it never seemed worth it to go online, figure out how to beat the puzzle, and then actually beat it. I hate that game with a passion.
The game MasterPenguin made had a very frustrating last level.
hmm, I'd say...in some ways FE Rekka no Ken?/Blazing Sword? I don't know which is which, because it auto-saves and all that, and you know you get to the end of this really long Chapter and, you make a mistake, and a character dies, (bleepidy bleep bleep bleep)
maolestory.
Jak and Daxter 1. There are no guns!!!!
Or maybe Sly Cooper 1 just because there's like a thousand freaken clues to find.
I don't know about you, but after I beat the main game I decided to focus on finding clues and found most of them with ease. The annoying part of that game are the Master Theif Sprints.
But right now I'm playing first Dark Cloud which is amazingly annoying. If you let your weapon'shealth bar which goes down from usage but if you let it run out your weapon which smetimes you may have worked on it the entire game will dissapear for ever. This happened to me yeasterday so I turned off the PS2 and I have my weapon back but I lost probably 4 hours of progress in the game.

I just played Star Fox 64 for the first time a few days ago. Peppy and Slippy are very annoying. DO A BARREL ROLL!!!! TRY A U-TURN!!!! FOX!!!! HELP!!!!
*THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS*
Also Turok (X360) have annoying moments in the game...
1st, the game have irregular checkpoints. There are some parts where the checkpoints are ok. And theres anothers parts the almost dont have checkpoints, and normally in hard parts, full of bad guys. Result? You die, die, die a lot, and you have to start that part all over again. I lost the count about how many hours have I wasted....
And the Final battle with the T-Rex are also very annoying, because of a stupid bug. Sometimes, the T-Rex tries to hit you, and, even if you barely scape, you die.... Even if you are about 5 meters of his mouth.
But its still a great game
I have to say Nethack.
Game going so well....enter a room, oh crap a yellow light. It explodes, oh crap I'm blind! No worries, I'll just wait for me to regain my vision...Argh, attacked by a horde of monsters! HP falling, can't pray since I already prayed in the last level and my god will get angry. I'll just Scroll of Teleportation away, agh can't, I'm blind. AAAARGH

BUT WHY DO I LIKE THIS GAME SO MUCH
Zelda games annoy me, because I suck at them. But Mario Kart Wii was the most annoying for me, for the same reasons as everybody else, of course
Final Fantasy. Take a few steps RANDOM BATTLE. Finish that one/run away and take ONE STEP and then... RANDOM BATTLE. Almost get to the door and then RANDOM BATTLE.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
That's what annoyed me Pokemon (and well, a lot of RPGs)
At least in Pokemon there was grass to tell you when a battle could happen. Whenever an FF game made you backtrack, it was battle after battle after battle with puny foes just to get somewhere you've already been.
That why Active Battle Systems are beasty-er. You can simply avoid a fight because you can see you foe before you actually havre to fight it so you can simply run around it. In turn-based battle you walk into the middle of a room and a giant troll just appears out of thin air! It gets quite annoying.

That level was tough. It was even harder on Masterquest. The boss was pretty easy, but getting there on the other hand..
The Water Temple took forever for me to beat... The only think in that game that even compares to that would be Spirit Temple (the one in that graveyard). I tried to do it without the Magic Mirror =/.
The graveyard temple is the shadow temple ::)
I hated that one, along with the water temple
THAT STUPID FISH BOSS IN MAJORA'S MASK
Shield and Sword Dungeon in Oracle of Seasons was pretty tough.
When I first goy OoT one of my friends told me that Jabu Jabu was an extremely hard dungeon. While picking up the little girl proved annoying if you happened to accidentely drop her in the water it took me maybe an hour and a half to beat.

A blue shell strikes the person in first place at the time of it's launch. Mushrooms can only be acquired when a person is in 2nd place and beyond. The chances of me (Master Nice lead-No Luck) getting a mushroom in second place are slim, especially when these hit at times where there are no item boxes and there's a pit under me.
Also: A devastating item knocks you into oblivion in MKWii. Leaders: Blue Shell, Lighting Bolt when you're over a jump.

Deadly. Also, I hate to say it, but it's possible to get a mushroom in first place. I've gotten it a few times before, but it takes EXTREME luck to get it. Let's say it's a 1/1000 chance of getting it.
Please don't rub it in but there's a bright spot in my dark abyss. When I'm not playing with my cousins, 2 out of 3 Blue shell strikes are at the same time when a Lighting bolt strikes. Which means everyone else feels a similar pain and I keep my lead.
Also: Has anyone ever had the luck where in Fire Emblem, an enemy pulls a critical hit when the enemy has only a 2% chance and it's on a venerable yet valuable character?
I've actually gotten hit by a blue shell and a lightning bolt at the same time...right before the finish line.
The wierd thing is the when the shell was getting ready to hit me, it actually shot lightning from the shell, then exploded...

This game can be much fun if you remember every single step so you won't die. Then there's the third stage (this 2D glider race)... but I think I don't need to say anymore. :'(
I might want to add Mario Kart Wii (blue shells... yea... funny) and Super Mario 64 (only because of that non-functional camera) to my list. I kind of hate and love these games... >:(

GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH
Beating Boss Battles on Intense in Smash Bros Brawl was extremely annoying because you couldn't use a golden hammer to unlock the prize for beating it. I spent weeks training with a character I don't normally use and had to try tons of times to finally do it. The worst part was finally getting to the last boss and then failing to dodge his insta-kill attack. It was extremely frustrating. But the process of finally beating it probably boosted my skill a lot though so maybe it was worth it.
Getting all the trophies in Melee was also kind of a pain too.
XD
I haven't done that yet. I've managed to get 27 kills on intense brawl with Kirby though.
Intense boss battles are quite annoying in SSBB. but the boss that frustrates me the most is Duon.
Interesting boss, that one.

CAMPFIRE!
*runs into a wall*
Skyward Sword is one of the best games Ive played recently, but the controls (Wii plus) were fucked as hell, so much bugs...
Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup
I've gone through hundreds of characters and I've never even come close to the end.
And having permadeath is very annoying and frustrating.
I don't know if anyone here has heard of it, but some rooms in Deadly Rooms of Death were very frustrating, but in a good way. I was stubborn and turned off checkpoints, and it was quite annoying to have to start a lengthy room over after dying due to one small mistake, but it made me want to keep trying and not give up. (Good thing you had unlimited lives!).
Double Dragon (GB) Pure hell!!!
I loved Twilight Princess for Wii but the controls when you have to get the guardian statues at the Sacred Grove pissed me off. I had to do it seven times even though I already new the pattern-_-
Most annoying game I have played was Cave Story, the original free version. It's really the secret level that is super annoying (even though the last cave also brings in frustration). Hoards of enemies just come attacking you and a single attack can take a significant amount of damage. @.@ You gotta defeat a boss before going to the final boss which has 4 forms. I'm glad I got that game over with. Overall though, there are plenty of boss battles that will annoy you
and don't get me started on the puppies....
Perfect Dark can get frustrating at times, especially the Area 51 and Air Force 1 missions. Not the most annoying, but still...
Castlevania Circle of the Moon.
