To be honest, I don't think it's immediately clear for a performer what to do with the intros at the moment. See the attachment for my suggestion (ignore the spacing): I think it's clearer if the main sheet starts on a new system, and the intros are labeled with where to jump to. Perhaps using measure numbers rather than a Segno marking is best, since I've never seen those used to jump forwards rather than backwards in a sheet

- m4: IMO, beat 3.25 would be clearer to read as a not-staccato 16th note
- m6 beats 1.5 and 3.5 RH sound staccato
- m7: The staccato in the RH should sit below the noteheads
- m8-9 RH sounds more fitting to me an octave higher, the organ starts higher than in m7

Also, if you have the audio to the new intro that would be great :)

Hmm let's try this for now. Also here's the alternate intro, from earlier in the thread:

Yeah, I think the D.S. would be confusing to read as such. I think "To measure 3" or something would suffice, or including a performance note as a text box in order to explain the structure.

"Sludgy Groove" works as a tempo indicator but the way the intro names are laid out, it reads as the name of the looping part so I would suggest removing it or finding some other way to work it in.

The first intro is missing a tempo marking. Also, make sure the 1./2. in the endings are shifted left a bit to be roughly above the beat 1 noteheads.

(Thanks for reformatting this one and sorry about the delay! I've had a lot going on lately and have been slow to reply on subs)

Not usually the type to bump my own stuff for arrangers, but I don't think there was much left to go over with this sheet, except for the new intros that I already added. I didn't expect this being as big a replacement as it was (nobody's fault, of course!) and was hoping to just rip the Band-Aid off with this one.

Sorry about the wait!
  • 'Go To Measure 2' is good, but I think 'To Measure 2' would be better, to match common directions such as 'To Coda'
  • The stem of RH m7 beat 3.5 should face downwards
  • Your tempo markings should be updated to match our new formatting guidelines (noteheads: MaestroTimes, 16pt, symbol Œ; numbers and equals: Times New Roman regular, 12pt, Text and parentheses: Times New Roman bold, 14pt)

No idea why this happened: I've been using the most up-to-date template. It's all fixed now.

If you're copying/importing them from somewhere, it might have reset? At least, adding them fresh hasn't caused any issues for me personally yet.

I will approve but just realised that the second intro will need its own time signature and opening dynamic. Everything else looks great!

Oh RIP, I updated this but never posted. Oh well, next submission cycle works.

Let's get this one finished at last...

- Last bass note in m. 5 should be C instead of Eb. Conversely, the last bass note in m. 9 should be a low G!
- Last bass note in m. 11/13 should be F
- This is a bit nitpicky, but it doesn't look like the staccato in m. 7 RH is in the right place. To make sure it's automatically corrected here (and in other places), make sure to use Special Tools > Stem Direction Tool to prevent the chord from being pointed up or down, then reset the articulation position by deleting and re-entering it or pressing backspace while it's highlighted.
- I think the "To Measure 2" in the first intro should probably be lower, it's a bit weird floating above the tempo marking. Maybe you could raise both tempo markings a bit and lower both "To Measure 2" markings a bit to keep them at consistent heights.

Awesome, thanks for the quick response! Just the last thing I wanted to clarify is that in my above comment I meant that I think it would be better for the "To Measure 2" instruction at the end of the first intro to be below the tempo marking, at a height similar to that of the one in the second intro.
