Darn it! I hope that changes in the near future! I think you'd like this version.

What instrument combinations are allowed in the submission? Because I just finished an arrangement for 2 pianos, 8 hands, which I've never seen before on this site. I wonder if this combination is allowed.

Hope to hear back soon!

The repertoire for 2 pianos, 8 hands is kind of lacking, and is mostly found in classical music, but speaking from experience it's a lot of fun to play.

Here's a great example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hygVXLOBTbk

It's an arrangement of Yoshi's Island Athletic Theme, where I attempt to include every single countermelody, harmony and rhythm featured in the original version (give or take a couple octaves) while still keeping it playable. Some harmonies will be in the wrong octave because to put them in the right octave, I would need more than 2 pianos and more than 4 people. I believe I have succeeded.

And yes, 2 pianos, 8 hands IS 4 voices, technically. It's played by 4 people, at least.

It's also the second 2 pianos, 8 hands arrangement I've written.

I'm wondering whether or not my latest arrangement would get accepted. There are no other instruments in this arrangement other than the piano. However, there's not only 2 pianos in this arrangement, but there's also 2 people on EACH piano, or 4 people total!

I've never seen any arrangement on this website for 2 pianos, 8 hands before. Just wondering whether or not that combination is allowed here before I post my arrangement.

Hope to hear back soon! I'm itching to get mine published and receive feedback. ;D

Luckily, yes! Thanks for the updates. I'll fix them over the weekend.

I'm not surprised that no one else did this one. It was one of the hardest songs to transcribe by ear for me, and I'm very good at this, what with both years of experience and having perfect pitch. The main reason why is that, as you have probably guessed, it's completely atonal, and it usually doesn't get any harder than that. I had to use both the original and the 8-bit version to make sure I got it right.

I noticed that you are one of the updaters. Do you think you could convert my .musicxml file to .mus for me and send me the link (along with the exported PDF and MIDI files)? I would love to submit this arrangement to this website ASAP. I still haven't heard back from Deku Trombonist.

Keep in mind, I don't have Finale, and Finale Notepad is too much of a pain. I use MuseScore instead. As such, the PDF and MIDI files will reflect that software, although the format is very similar to the required format for this thread (after a few alterations by yours truly). Also, instead of an .mus file, I'm adding a .musicxml file instead.

In the meantime, I've PMed Deku Trombonist with a request to convert my .musicxml file into .mus, fix the formatting, and export the PDF and MIDI files.

Anyway, enjoy!

I need help from someone.

I currently can't afford Finale at this time even as a college student, so I use MuseScore. The problem is, MuseScore can't export to .mus, which is required for submitting sheet music. I tried exporting to .musicxml and importing it into Finale Notepad so I can convert it to .mus, but only the first page showed up on the screen, even though I exported the whole thing.

Can someone use their version of Finale to convert my .musicxml file to .mus, export to PDF and MIDI, and send me all three? I really can't think of any other option.

Also, how do I even add the .musicxml file to this post?

Please reply ASAP.
