Quote from: Latios212 on June 29, 2025, 08:09:49 PMI don't think I hear the C in m. 17 beat 3. Actually, I think the preceding and following chords might be just open sixths as well?
I actually had these as open sixths initially but second guessed myself later. Giving it another listen it definitely sounds more like just sixths to me.

Quote from: Latios212 on June 29, 2025, 08:09:49 PM- When having a roll marking on beat 1 that's right up against the barline, using the Measure Tool to add something like 0.05" to the measure helps the spacing work a bit better

Quote from: Latios212 on June 29, 2025, 08:09:49 PM- The 1. and 2. over the endings should be aligned over beat 1 (a bit far to the right in 23/25 and left in 42/43 right now)
I think these must have gotten misaligned when I was messing with the repeats.

Quote from: Latios212 on June 29, 2025, 08:09:49 PM- I think the D.C. is supposed to go over the staff (and the ending bracket here I suppose).
I was using Elaine Gould's music notation guide as a reference here for placing it underneath the bottom staff in braced parts. Taking a look at existing sheets on-site I can see it's most commonly placed above the top staff so for visual consistency I think putting it on top makes sense.

Thanks for looking over it!

Quote from: goldenscruff on June 23, 2025, 04:25:37 AMWhoops wrong measure m39 b3.
Oops yeah this is supposed to be AD, Updated.

Quote from: goldenscruff on June 23, 2025, 04:25:37 AMm35 I meant the right hand as FAD, no Bb in the RH, that's just from the LH.
I knew something sounded off about this chord but I forgot about the Bb in the LH. Updated.

Quote from: goldenscruff on June 22, 2025, 04:10:46 AMm18 The RH should have an An b1.5 where at the same pitch at the bottom of the chord.

Quote from: goldenscruff on June 22, 2025, 04:10:46 AMm40 I hear b3 RH as AD
I'm not entirely sure what you're referring to here, but I hear it as written.
There is an A struck by the LH on b3 underneath the RH D so perhaps that's what you're hearing?

Quote from: goldenscruff on June 22, 2025, 04:10:46 AMm43 I think the rit. should go on b2.
Agreed, updated accordingly.

Thanks for taking the time to review!

Finally got some more Persona 3 sheets done!
I've felt like I've been kind of stuck in a rut with my arranging recently so I decided to just work on some simple sheets and just get something out at least.

Persona 3 Reload

The Path Was Closed [MUSX] [MUS] [MIDI] [PDF] [Original]
Brand New Days -The Beginning- [MUSX] [MUS] [MIDI] [PDF] [Original]
Maya's Theme [MUSX] [MUS] [MIDI] [PDF] [Original]

I ended up having to take much more liberties than I expected for "Maya's Theme" so hopefully it sounds true to the source still.

Also, I have these tracks labeled as "Persona 3 Reload" but most of them are nearly identical to the original releases.
There are, however, some subtle differences and I used the audio from the remake to arrange these so I opted for the newer title.

Another Stella Glow sheet!
Hearing this track in the 3DS demo is the reason I played this game and I still think it's the most atmospheric title screen I've ever encountered.

Title Screen [MUSX] [MUS] [MIDI] [PDF] [Original]

Honestly the most tricky thing about this sheet for me (as well as the other piano tracks I've arranged from this game) was getting the distribution of notes between the left and right hands correct since both are played quite close together.

Nice sheet! I think you did a good job of keeping the feel of the original track. I'm pretty new to arranging myself, but there are a couple things that stand out to me that I figured I'd comment on.

  • m.12 b.1 RH - This 16th triplet sounds like it should be a mordent to me.
  • m.51-64 RH - I'm not hearing this same chord repeated here. It's not super clear, but I'm hearing the strings hit another A an octave lower than the one you have written on the offbeat. It's more noticeable on m.55/56/59/etc. beat 4.5 where it definitely sounds to me like it goes up. (Also in those measures is there a reason you opted for 16th triplets over grace notes?)
  • m.70/74 RH - I feel like making these chords arpeggiated might help retain the feel of the original.

I didn't have time to go over it in too much depth, but that's everything I've got for now.
Always glad to see more people arranging VGM and I hope you keep it up!  :)

Thanks! I'm a huge fan of your Harvest Moon and Persona sheets and have had a lot of fun with playing them.

The Rune Factory OST is partially what inspired me to start arranging and I hope to continue in the future to expand the selection of Rune Factory sheets onsite. :D

Back with a double feature!

From the moment I booted up this game I was grabbed by the soundtrack and I think Mitsuda did a fantastic job of bringing out it's charm. Even though the studio went under I still hope this game gets revived someday.

Comforting Feelings [MUSX] [MUS] [MIDI] [PDF] [Original]
Doubt Lingers Within [MUSX] [MUS] [MIDI] [PDF] [Original]

These were pretty simple pieces, but there are a couple things I'm uncertain of especially the notation around m.8-10 of the second sheet.
Also since this game never got an official soundtrack released the track titles can vary so I just used what looked most accurate to me.

No matter how many times I hear this track it never gets old!

Just wanted to comment on some things that stuck out to me:

  • I'm not hearing the D & C in m.37(m.36?) b1.50-75 RH. I can just barely make it out in m.36, but it sounds like reverb to me?
  • In m.38(36-38?) maybe it'd be nice to have some indication of the echoing motion similar to m.8

Super excited to see more of your Genshin Impact sheets in submissions!

Quote from: Radiak488417 on March 21, 2025, 02:43:57 PMI'm noticing that you have the page size set at 120%, was that intentional? I think it looks a bit cramped (the second page especially), and would benefit from being resized to 100%.
This actually was intentional. I was playing with the resize since it looked a tad bit small after printing, but I failed to notice how cramped it made the second page especially.

Everything should be correctly scaled at 100% now.
I personally think the system distribution looks a little nicer this way as well.

Quote from: Radiak488417 on March 20, 2025, 08:56:23 PMThis is partly so that the performer doesn't have to look back at the first page to realize there's a pickup, but also because the way you have it right now implies that there are 4 beats before the loop, whereas I hear it as just a slow 3.
I'm a little confused about where the 4 beats before the loop would be coming from (the last measure was only 2 beats to accommodate for the pickup), but I agree that the repeat would help readability and have updated accordingly.  :)

Quote from: Latios212 on March 17, 2025, 03:41:29 PMI assume the track title is from this album? No "~Love At First Sight" in the official title?
The in-game music player has it as simply "LAFS" as does the official soundtrack CD so that's what I went with.
I'm not entirely sure where the "~Love At First Sight" part came from although I suspect it may be in-game dialogue.

Quote from: Latios212 on March 17, 2025, 03:41:29 PMI think the Ab in m. 10 would be better off as a G#, and similarly for C# in m. 30. Those pitches resolve up to A and D respectively in the following measure
Fixed

Quote from: Latios212 on March 17, 2025, 03:41:29 PMI don't hear any indication that the D written in the RH of m. 14 is part of the melody? Doesn't sound particularly louder than the other LH notes
I actually do hear this D as a little louder although my primary reasoning is because I felt like it was the same melody as in m. 34.
If I'm the only one who hears it though I'm fine with removing it.

Quotem27 b4.5 RH - I hear a C instead of a D
Fixed

Quotem28 b1 RH - I don't hear the D in this chord
Fixed

QuoteI feel like it would look nicer if in m10, m13/14, m15/16, m17/18, m19/20, and their counterparts in m21-40 had the notes tied over into the rests.
I actually had it that way originally, but couldn't make up my mind about the note lengths.
I'm not positive about m10/m30, but after listening again it does sound like those are held so I went ahead and changed those as well as the others.

Thanks for the feedback!
