Specifically requesting for a version with two pianos, because I personally think a one piano transcription is too stripped down.  I've personally made a transcription for two pianos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7vq5l6YNME) without many of the dynamics or other important markings that the current one on the main page already has. I've also lost the .mus, which is why I have gone out of my way to make it myself + the version of Finale my university provides (aka the one I used) doesn't have things like grace notes, so anything I could provide would be highly lackluster. I also had an ossia (a section that can be played differently) in mind because I've seen a lot of people prefer to play a part of this piece differently, but I would only be able to make that like next week.

If this isn't a valid request for any reason, sorry about that lol. Otherwise, I think this piece would benefit greatly from a two-piano transcription.

Help! / Alternating staffs
April 21, 2012, 03:08:42 PM
This question was posted earlier in this section but I can't find it now o.o

I'm making a piece with notes that alternate 16ths between clefs (the same way the ending of Hungarian Rhapsody N. 2 is arranged), but I'm not sure how to do this :/ Help?

EDIT: Or better yet, how do I leave the piano to stay in just one staff?

Tips for both would be well appreciated :)

Well, ETF's game experience inspired me :P and we need some of this :D

So, something nice about JaMaHa (who isn't above me, but he is the main admin for the forum):

JaMaHa, you are an awesome mod and you make a gun look unworthy in your hands. :P I'm no good at writing paragraphs, but yeah. :P

Made a note on facebook about life. Here's the NSM version :P

So, the world as I see it... it's not all bad. It's just 78.365% not good. There used to be a time when people knew everyone in their neighborhood. A time when kids learned everything in school  not "from the streets". A time when all you wanted a cell phone to do, was to ring. We live in a generation where enough isn't enough, if that makes sense. Material things, like phones, Apple products, video games, "the latest thing to come out" poison our minds to the point where people think they need these products to continue their life....

Are you kidding me? Who thinks "I'm gonna die tomorrow because I lost my phone". That's another thing, people today think money is so abundant these days. "I don't care if I lose this, my parents will get me another one." Yeah, right. >_> There is not a country in this world that is not in debt. As of right now, America is in over $14.5 trillion in debt. And we're supposed to be the big boss country that people dream of coming to and start their lives or careers. Shouldn't we be exhibiting that example?

December 21, 2012. This is the day I'm gonna enjoy most. If the world doesn't end, heck, I'm gonna be laughing my butt off 2 weeks later :P If the world/sun does end up... going chaotic or whatever, then I'd be fine with it. People have to realize death isn't always a sad event. As long as you have made each and every day worth it, you lived a sufficient life. People don't even get as far as 14. Some are lucky enough to get to 114. Only time will tell.

Oh, and I learned a pretty good reason to not believe in the whole 2012 catastrophe. They made a movie. If the world was really gonna end, they wouldn't have made a movie. That would be like me coming out with "O.J. Simpson" the movie. You see why they let him come out with the book right? xD (Thanks D'andre Ciggers for that lesson :P)

It hurts to see so many people influenced so freaking much by the media. The people on that screen are humans. Like you and me. They don't need to die because they're so successful, and they certainly don't need to be worshiped as much. Prime example: Justin Beiber. People want him dead. Why? Because they're jealous :| Like, really? Has he sinned so much to the point that he deserves to die? No. >_> It's the fame that he has that people want so much. Then again, there are the people that are obsessed over him. But I won't say anything about them because I want to keep this note PG. xD

Love. People have abused it so much. Some go into it too fast and a lot of them go into a deep, deep depression when their "special one" leaves them. C'mon now, if a person would rather have you out of their lives then to keep you in it, then you're probably better off without them as they are without you. You don't need to be in a relationship to enjoy life. Read a good book, watch a movie, make some friends, get a pet - there are other things to do. :P

It's funny, I have so many philosophies about life, but I can't think of anything good now. xP Anyways, that is this note. I hope whoever's tagged takes the time to read this or at least get the message I'm trying to get across:

Live your life. Put yourself first, others come second. And don't start going "Oh, he's selfish, he should be helping more people out" because when it gets to the whole job aspect, those people you helped out? Yeah, 99% chance they're not gonna be there to help you when you need them. Heh, I can name a few times having gone through this.

Well, anyways, live your life, be yourself, and remember those who matter don't mind, and those who mind don't matter. :)

So yeah, opinions please :3

Warning: These pictures WILL be big.

I used to do a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh! drawings in my younger years (considering I was obsessed with it at the time :P). These days, I do a lot of stuff on grids in black & white just because. Comes in handy when you have nothing to do in class. I don't do requests, by the way.

Music / The Amazing MP3/MP4 Topic
May 16, 2010, 04:37:54 PM
Ok, so here's how it's gonna work. All you have to do is give me a song or a video, whichever, and I'll make an MP3 or MP4 out of it for you to keep. This is just for fun, you could say.

What this could be used for:
  • Making sheets and you need a sample to listen to at your convenience
  • You can save these songs/videos (yes, the videos too) on your iPod or whatever device you have.
  • If you're requesting a song. I hear it's better to have an MP3 available rather than a YT video. So now, there should be no reason not to have an MP3 of that song now!

Now, of course, I'll need these videos/songs to be on YouTube, which is how I get them. Also, just write in your post:

1) The song/video you want (preferrably hyperlinked to a video) that you want to save.
2) And whether you want the MP3/video sent to you in a PM or just posted here.

I hope this will be useful to you guys! :)

Story Telling / Mr. Linden's Library
May 07, 2010, 04:25:55 PM
                                                                              Mr. Linden's Library
It had been a regular day for the pair of Kyle and Stacy. They were just taking a walk around their neighborhood, talking about anything that came to mind. While they were good friends, the two had many differences and disagreements. Matters such as "Who should be president?" or "Who needed this more?" would usually threaten to end their friendship - but they knew better than that. However, today was going to be one of those days.
"So, what books have you read lately?" Stacy asked.
"None," Kyle replied, "You know I hate reading." And he meant it. Kyle hated reading with a passion, while Stacy could finish a book while eating.
"Well I just finished reading Nothing But the Truth, by Avi. It could've been better."
"Exciting." Kyle said sarcastically, "Hey, you told me how you've visited all 63 libraries in the state, right?"
          "That's right." Stacy replied, grinning.
"Well, I did some research for you and it looks like you're missing number 64." Kyle smirked.
"You're lying! I can see it on your face!" Stacy retorted
"I'm not lying, there is another one." It's right up our street, the Charles Linden Library."
"Charles Linden? I've never heardof him. He must've been pretty special to get a library named after him. Can you come with me?"
"Of course, but it closed down over 30 years ago, when the guy died."
          "Doesn't mean we can't go, c'mon!"
Once there, Stacy was already fascinated by the look of the palace. It held over 50,000 books and the walls had kept statues of roses on the walls, covered in dust and webs. There were some bookcases knocked over, creating a maze-like venture for the two. Then, there came a desk. It was Charles Linden's front desk and all of his last records.
"Interesting." Stacy said, looking through the names. Suddenly, she saw a stand that held "Mr. Linden's Last Work." It was a book named the Inferno Nexus. It had a picture of a rose on the cover, surrounded by black emptiness. he plaque under it indicated it was his last story he had written. . . and that Stacy and Kyle weren't the last visitors of the illusional building.
"I don't think he would mind if I took a peek," Stacy remarked.
"I dunno, Stacy. Can this place really be trusted? I mean, that book already looks bad! Look at the title!" Inferno Nexus loosely translated to "Hell Tightening."
"But that's what makes it all the more interesting!" Stacy was now immensely captivated by the dust-covered back.
"Ok, whatever. Let's just get home quick! This place isn't getting anymore pretty."
When they went home, Stacy had locked herself in her room to read. This will only take a few minutes, she thought to herself. However, as she kept reading she felt compelled to go to a certain page in the book. She decided to flip through the book more rapidly and found a rose-shaped bookmark on page 216. Stacy now wanted to study the exquisite design it.
While doing so, vines had started to appear from between the pages. They were starting to wrap around Stacy and tied her to her seat. The book was now floating in mid-air. In thick black letters, across the two pages, it read "The curse of Charles Linden is unleashed." Stacy read in horror as she continued to struggle from the now thorn-developing vine trap. She realized what Kyle had done to her: why he wouldn't he go near the book, why he knew more about the library already, why he had brought up the title. Was this all a trap? Or was Kyle trying to protect Stacy? After all, he had warned herabout the book. Now it was too late.

Moral: Books kill. And so does this story.

Music / Tetris Type A music SSBB help???
March 02, 2010, 06:10:16 PM
Hey, does anyone wanna help me make a fully orchestrated version of the Tetris A theme from SSBB? I need someone to do the violin, percussion, and maybe some other stuff (I remember another wind in there acting as a bass...) if anyone wants to. I'm gonna try to do the piano, oboe (or english horn), and I think I remember a french horn in there.

If you wanna help, please do! Whether Finale-wise or notation-wise, cuz' this is a hard piece to ear off the bat! Hear's (pun intended) the song!:

Feedback / "Groups" in FN2008? And layers?
March 01, 2010, 06:20:23 PM
Hey everyone! I need some help on how to make... groups? of instruments in Finale Notepad 2008. What I mean is, I don't want it to sound like one cello, but a group of cellos without having to add it over and over, which doesn't work either. Also for layers, do you need to start on Layer 4 and work your way up? Because my Finale rejects any notes that I try to add when I use Layer 1 first, and then try any other layers...

Thanks :)

Help! / Weird playback glitch?
February 28, 2010, 10:26:36 AM
Hey everyone. I was about to make a piano score of the Bouldergeist battle from SMG... when this (not-so) funny glitch appeared. Well, now when I open the score (on Finale Notepad 2008), I can't manually add notes, and when I add a "pink note" an ear pops up, replacing my cursor. And whenever I click on a measure or outside of the paper, it automatically starts playing from the measure I clicked, even though I have it set on the notation-thingamubobber. Also, when I play a measure with notes, it takes no regard for dynamics or trills (as far as I know) What is this? How do I fix it? I think it might've started when I was testing out the layer button, because it's never happened before that.

Music / Video Game Music Appreciation
December 29, 2009, 06:44:11 PM
This is strictly for Video Game Music. I made this for 3 reasons.

1) I was expecting to see something like this when first coming to NSM, but didn't find one, saw a comment on YouTube and here we are.

2) I feel like there's a deeper message that video game music is trying to tell us, and I wanna see what other people think...

3) I would like to see some different video game music. (I'm very fond of Nintendo) but I hear this great stuff about Sonic, Banjo-Kazooie, and Metroid, but I don't know if it's good or not. So hopefully I can find some music other than just Mario.

Help! / Repeats won't work?
December 23, 2009, 10:16:14 AM
Hey everyone! It's that guy over there  :P Anyways I'm here to complain about a problem in Finale Notepad 2008 (Yeah, I'm cheap). I'm working on an SMB Medley and for some reason, wherever there's a repeat the "marker" skips over it and continues to the note after the repeat. This also happens when I play the MUS in Finale Reader 2010. Any help/suggestions/ideas are greatly appreciated.  ;D

Feedback / Tetris on site?
December 18, 2009, 06:05:52 AM
Ok, I was taking my monthly stroll through the sheets, when I noticed that the original Tetris theme was replaced by MaestroUGC's version. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with having it up there (I have the MP3 f the song :D ), but we should have the original version for anyone looking for it. Because say that a beginner sheet-reader really likes the theme, but sees these pretty high notes, speed, and hand movements. We should keep an version of the song that is closer to the in-game version. Anyone else agree with this?

Once again, no offense to MaestroUGC or anyone, and I would hate for this to turn into that other, locked topic so, please keep it clean, thanks. :)
