Nintendo / Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
September 16, 2012, 07:16:12 PM
Looks pretty good.  You guys pumped?  What do you hope to see in it?  I personally hope it maintains the mystique of the original and doesn't revert to just general Mario platforming.

Request / [MUL] Multiple Songs from The Legend of Zelda
September 07, 2012, 02:32:53 PM
Due to the success of me playing Zelda music at my school play, I've been again asked to play at our annual fundraiser in three weeks.  If anybody has enough spare time to take these on and turn them out by the 27th, I'd appreciate it a lot.  Preferably sooner, so I can learn them.

Twilight Princess- Save Ilia

Phantom Hourglass- Maritime Battle

Spirit Tracks- Stealthy Zelda

Skyward Sword- Lanayru Desert (Past)

Thanks in advance!

All right, responding to Fingerz' challenge to beat him in Super Mario 3D Land.  Just thought it'd be nice to have one for OoT 3D as well.

Help! / General Arrangement Help
August 23, 2012, 07:13:51 PM
So I know how to arrange.  That said, I'm not extremely good.  The quality of my sheets just generally seems lower than that of others.  Also, it takes me FOREVER to turn out a sheet.  Months.  Part of this is just having other things on my schedule, but it still takes a long time.
So I am wondering:  How does one get better at arranging?  Is it just practice?  Or are there exercises I can do to improve my ear and my technique?  If so, what?
Thanks in advance!

Creativity Corner / The Legend of Shakespeare
July 28, 2012, 07:21:44 PM
So this past school year, my school performed Shakespeare's The Tempest.  I was, with a teacher, given the task of scoring the play, and playing the music on the piano.  So I got my pick of pieces and completely scored the performance with NSM-arranged music from The Legend of Zelda series.  Which went together surprisingly well.  Here are the pieces that were put in:

Moldarach/Koloktos Battle- Bloop
Faron Woods- Thomas O'Day
Groose's Theme- Olimar12345
Fi's Lament- Adrian Currier
Message from the Goddess- ALPRAS
Sacred Grove- The Deku Trombonist
Beginning's End- ALPRAS

Thank all you guys for the quality arrangements!  I received several compliments after the performance regarding how well the music added to the play.  Thought you guys might want to know that your talent is being recognized!

Nintendo / Wind Waker Medley
July 24, 2012, 03:21:15 PM
Hey all!
Just for kicks, I'm arranging a medley of songs from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.  I don't want it to only tell a story (like the orchestral CD movement) as much as I want it to tell a story and be sort of a 'greatest hits of Wind Waker' type thing.  As in, I want to write a medley that has some of the important pieces (e.g. Great Sea, Staff Roll) and some of the lesser known 'side' pieces (e.g. Gohdan, Wind Temple) that are still amazing.
I've selected seven pieces that are important to the story I want to be in there.  I want ten more, selected by you guys.  So reply to this post with the track you like or want in a medley.  The first ten people to respond get their pick.  You can find a listing of the OST right here.

Medley listing:
Title- TheZeldaPianist275
The Legendary Hero- TheZeldaPianist275
Outset Island- pumpy_heart
Beedle's Shop Ship- the_last_sheikah
Grandma- Music44
Miniboss (Dungeon)- Music44
The Great Sea- TheZeldaPianist275
Dragon Roost Island- the_last_sheikah
Molgera- spitllama
Hero of the Wind- TheZeldaPianist275
Ganon's Castle- FSM-Reapr
Final Boss: Ganondorf- TheZeldaPianist275
Staff Roll- TheZeldaPianist275
Epilogue- TheZeldaPianist275

Go for it!

P.S: If anybody says, "Get Small Item," I will personally see to it that they are banned.   :P

Nintendo / Twilight Princess OST Rip
June 16, 2012, 07:49:47 PM
So I've been looking for a good The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess OST rip to put on the iPod, and can't find any.  I've googled it and found plenty rips that have 127 tracks; there are around 250 tracks in the game.  If anyone has anything, please step forward: I need this by tomorrow morning!  Sorry for late notice!

Help! / Funky MuseScore Playback
May 27, 2012, 06:24:56 PM
MuseScore users:

I'm arranging with MuseScore, and some things, weirdly enough, don't show up on playback mode.  For example, it just acts like sixteenth grace notes aren't there.  Some others include glissandos, fermatas, and tremolos.

 ???  Does not understand!!!

Love this piece so much, it did a really good job of bringing the movies together and ending the trilogy.

Any takers?

Nintendo / Favorite Skyward Sword Tracks
April 26, 2012, 06:15:27 PM
So, now Skyward Sword has come and gone.  I think we can all agree it had great music, but which three tracks were your favorites throughout the game?  I'm gonna have to go with

3. Romance in the Air (get a tear in my eye every time I sit down and listen to it)
2. Final Ghirahim (the key change after you knocked him down was just so epic)
1. Staff Roll (no competition, did a really good job of bringing the game together)

You?

Help! / Slow Playback
March 08, 2012, 01:37:27 PM
I feel like this is a pretty stupid question, but do any arrangers out there know of a program that slows an audio track down so that you can, in my case, listen to some of the faster notes more clearly?
Really need help here! Thanks!
