Piano Arrangements / Korados' New Arrangements
September 05, 2014, 06:22:15 AM
Hello everybody,

I won't arrange a lot but I tried to arrange again. And I need help!

[GCN] - Pikmin 2 - Submerged Castle: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xkewvwr56kddunl/Submerged%20Castle.mus?dl=0

Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2Ikt9RJCNk

The rhythm and tonality of this piece is totally freaky! I really don't know what to do about this. It took me an hour or so to even
figure out the pitch of the ostinato which is played throughout the piece. But I'm still not sure about it because the original sounds like an old music box.
When the main melody comes in, I gave up.
I just know that the rhythm of the ostinato is right but I guess the measures could be split up. In the second measure of the ostinato, there's a triplet
in the left hand which ends just before the note on the right hand so it sounds a bit like an arpeggio. I'd be glad if you could help me.

Thank you very much!

Yeah, I'm late, too but I want to congratulate NSM, too! :D The first time I was here was in 2007. I remember that I arranged
some songs myself and corrected other ones. A year later, I pretty much abandoned NSM for my apprenticeship and over this time
NSM really made several changes. I should be around here more often to keep up with this beautiful site. Really made me thinking, too. :)

Quote from: WarioMan98 on October 19, 2011, 11:33:59 AMSince I'm not an expert on Banjo music, I can't judge very well but after listening to the original, it's very good! Remove the fs and add an agitato or a loco at the beginning and it will be perfect!   :D
Oh! And don't forget the copyright and the complete title: "Targitzan, the Despotic Dizzy Totem God" :)

You're no expert in Banjo-Kazooie music? Please don't say me you never played the games, I'd not believe it! ;)

What do mean with loco or agitato, if you label all staves with forte, it's just fine. I guess the tempo might be agitato, but as it is pretty fast and furious, I'd prefer
"Allegro con brio".

Besides that, thank for another BT arrangement! There pretty easy to handle as they are almost always in Eb Major or c minor, as Kirkhope was a former metal band member
and most metal songs are also in c minor. ;D

Gosh, haven't been here for two months now, A-Levels are sooo exhausting! Thank you for the Francis Battle, it's so... nerdy! ;D

What you first need are triplets to get rid of all those dotted eights, it would be pretty annoying for the piano player to count them out, if you you use triplets the player knows that the eights are to be played equally.

The rhythm is pretty of, I don't think it's necessarily a Swing rhythm. Maybe you could use the melody line from the one on the site for the rhythm is right there.

OT: I never liked the role of Twink, do anyone agree? ;D

Quote from: SlowPokemon on August 09, 2011, 08:36:18 AMHey, did you ever consider doing a virtuoso arrangement of something from the Professor Layton games? I don't know how well that would work, but something like Professor Layton's Theme or St. Mystere? I don't know if they could be made into good virtuoso arrangements, though. Just a question. :p

Ehhhh... Did you read Maestros posting? That's really ignorant of you to post a request now!

Ok, concerning Black Tower: Maybe it's just me, but I really dislike Menzel's metronome markings, so in my opinion this piece isn't necessarily "Prestissimo", despite being at a speed of 197. I would just say it's "Vivace", it's the same with the Chopin waltzes, the minute waltz has a speed above 300 and Chopin just said "Vivace", so it's a matter of opinion. ;D Besides, thank you very much for that!

Quote from: JDMEK5 on July 28, 2011, 02:30:16 PMSorry for double posting, but I really need help with the above sheet.
If you think it's already good and ready for submission, please let me know.

Isn't it summer break time in most countries? Maybe you should wait until August/September, then they will all come back. ;)

Quote from: WarioMan98 on July 06, 2011, 03:47:15 AMMaybe some kind of freaking chinese/japanese virtuoso pianist, who knows...  :P

Or maybe he's the reincarnation of Franz Liszt? ;D

Quote from: spitllama on July 02, 2011, 08:15:46 PMSeriously though, it's that Oswald theme.

Oswald's theme is just a combination of the beginning of Wagner's opera "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg" and the second movement of Beethoven's 7th. ;D In the early years of cartoons they just took pieces of classical music as bgm. Knowing the film Fantasia?
