Quote from: mariolegofan on July 14, 2015, 12:12:31 PMHere is World 1!

World 1

I claim World 2 & Captain Toad plays peek-a-boo.

Thanks! Will update the OP.

Quote from: SlowPokemon on July 14, 2015, 12:39:23 PMHas anyone claimed "Hisstocrat?" I wouldn't mind giving that a try.

Go right on ahead! I'll put your name on the OP.

Quote from: mariolegofan on July 14, 2015, 12:47:17 PMI honestly can't believe how many people actually are helping with this.....I thought it'd be CQ and I doing it alone :P

I'm pleasantly surprised as well, especially with the Animal Crossing project (the official one) going on as well. The more, the merrier!

Quote from: Yug_Guy on July 14, 2015, 01:14:24 PMIf no one's going to take them, I'll do Title, Cave, and Athletic.

Yep, all of those are free! You can even take the first couple measures of the Athletic theme that I have in the OP.

Quote from: SlowPokemon on July 14, 2015, 11:13:50 AMSuper Bell Hill repeats, is in a different key, some aspects of the arrangement are different. The Theme is a piece that doesn't loop, changes keys, also has some different arrangement aspects.

Wow, that's completely my fault. I didn't listen to the WHOLE song. I just assumed it was the same. My bad!

Quote from: SlowPokemon on July 14, 2015, 07:24:50 AM"Theme of Super Mario 3D World" is NOT the same as "Super Bell Hill." Do not count them as the same arrangement.

Well, then the song I arranged was actually Theme of Super Mario 3D World. Is there any difference other then the lengthened intro?

UPDATES:

mariolegofan's "Switch Scramble Circus" was added.
First 20ish measures of "Sunshine Seaside" were added by me.
E. Gadd Industries' "Shifty Boo Mansion" was added.

Quote from: mariolegofan on July 13, 2015, 06:48:27 PMHere is Switch Scramble Circuit :)

Man, I don't know what to say. That's pretty outstanding. You're lucky. You had a song with notes not nearly as hard to hear as I did. I'm not complaining, though. Like I said, great arrangement. I guess I do have to critique 2 very small things in terms of formatting.

Here is a revised edition. It's almost not even worth posting because I didn't change anything within the music itself. The two things I changed were:

The title- I actually just saw this as I was scrolling through the thread. It's actually "Circus," not "Circuit." Not that I'm trying to be the grammar Nazi here. :)
The composer section- I put it on 2 lines instead of one. With all the 3D World stuff I've been working on, I've found it easier to do it that way.

Other than that, its gold. I'll put it in the OP.

Quote from: Bespinben on July 13, 2015, 11:18:16 AMI don't expect you to try to fit the entire orchestra into 2-hands, but the arrangement does feel a little sparse at times. I think if you incorporated the bass (the really low sustained piano note) along with the pizzicato strings in the LH accompaniment, this would go along way in making it feel less empty.

Yea, I definitely agree. The tough thing is that the right hand part is legato in most of the song, while the bass is largely staccato. Here are some suggestions I have in addition to Bespinben's suggestion of incorporation of the piano bass notes.

[.mus] [.musx] Option 1- Basically what I did here is took the first note of each measure in the bass clef and moved it to the second layer as a dotted half note, so there isn't emptiness while the other notes are not being played. I only did it for the first segment of the song, but I'm sure you can see where I was going with it if you wanted to continue it.

[.mus] [.musx] Option 2- This one kind of strays from the sound of the song a little, but it could be an adequate solution. Here I just put pedal symbols under each measure. I only did a couple measures, and this is only one possible way to do it. You could play around with it. I just threw them at the beginning and end of the measures to make it simple.

However, there is one thing I would like to note that I did in both options. In the high pitched 8va parts, I have turned the 8th note single strokes into 16th note double strokes. The reason I did this is because the instrument in the song, whether by playing or by an echo effect, does actually play it that way. I think the song is slow enough that the average pianist would be able to play them, so I put them in.

Also, I do like that you have added the bass notes, but somehow you have to keep them sustained, possibly by pedal usage. Remember, these are just suggestions; you don't necessarily have to take any of them exactly as we say, but one way or another you do have to make it feel less empty, as Bespinben said. Overall, pretty good arrangement though! :)

Quote from: Latios212 on July 12, 2015, 09:53:41 PMI'm about to sleep so not right now, but soon! Would you mind finishing up note input first before we worry about all the other stuff? Just so we don't start fixing aesthetics before the notes are all there and saving some back-and-forth time.

Sure thing! I understand that; there's a good chance the second layer will undergo revision in some areas. Hopefully note input should be minimal; basically adding chords in some weaker spots in the melody and fixing up the last section of the bass line. I know I probably have some wrong notes in there, but I don't know what to do! Even the distortion caused by playing a YT video 1/2 speed doesn't distort the pitches. Its either the percussion or the melody, and I'm pretty sure it's the latter.

Btw, when you do get back to this you can at least fix the measure 95 thing, right? I guarantee that measure is set in stone and will not change. And I'm stupid, what I was looking for was a tremolo. But I can only do it on a single note/chord, not between two notes/chords. So that's a clearer description of what I need. D on beat 1, tremolo between F and D on beats 2-4.

Update: Actually, I finally got the tremolo myself. So you don't have to do anything else for now. Thanks for the help!

Quote from: Olimar12345 on July 12, 2015, 09:44:51 PMI could rework my "Character Select" SMB 2 arrangement into "Lucky House" for this.

Be my guest! I couldn't quite remember which song it was; I knew it was a remake of something. If you want me to put you down for it, just say the word.

Quote from: Olimar12345 on July 12, 2015, 09:44:51 PMAlso, this might be a better choice of tracklists, since it's from Nintendo's OST.

Well, it turns out I got lucky. The YouTube video I copied from appears to have copied and pasted the same list. I just made some numbering changes to it since the discs don't really matter (I think).

Quote from: Latios212 on July 12, 2015, 09:49:49 PMNot sure yet if I can help arrange this OST, but know that I'll be keeping a close eye on the project and probably playing these sheets :P Great work so far!

Thanks! :) If you're able to help with anything, just let me or mariolegofan know; we're kind of the leaders of this unofficial project. Gosh, its getting annoying typing unofficial every time. Yes, I know I don't have to. Yes, I'm going to do it anyway. Sorry, got sidetracked. Anyway, yea, I'll definitely be (attempting) to play these as well. One problem: perfect pitch, memorization, and chording don't help with sight reading. I might have to try the 4 3 2 1 technique or something. Let me know if you guys know a good method to improve sight reading ability.

Quote from: Latios212 on July 12, 2015, 09:29:30 PMI can't say anything about the accuracy of the key changes, but I think I got everything you mentioned.

Thanks, but actually one quick thing I forgot to mention. In measure 95, my goal was to have a D play on beat 1 and then "trill" between D and F in beats 2-4. I know there is some kind of ornamentation for that, but a regular trill doesn't work because the notes are not adjacent. Could you help me out there?

Quote from: Latios212 on July 12, 2015, 09:29:30 PMThere's a bunch of cosmetic things that need to be touched up, but we'll save that for submission time. Hope it's good enough for now, we can definitely help you touch it up more later on. Let us know if you need anything else. Great work! ;)

Oh God, I know how ugly it looks. I'm nowhere near ready for submission. I still have some chords and bass notes to polish up. But the other problem is hiding rests in the second layer. Notepad doesn't do that, so I have to XML it over to MuseScore. However, when I bring it back, I lose the Swing. Hopefully this isn't too much to ask for, but could you possibly hide the second layer rests? Because I know that if I do it my way I'll have to bring the .mus back to fix swing, the key changes, the 8va and 8vb; everything. So if you could do that it would be awesome.  ;D

Quote from: mariolegofan on July 12, 2015, 04:46:44 PMAwesome!! Very excited!

I finished Switch Scramble Circuit. Will have it up when I get home. Also, I am claiming "Piranha Creeper Cave" and "World 1". And I know there are a lot of remixes in this game that don't need to be arranged. "Champion's Road" and "Mount Must Dash" I know are remixes off the top of my head.....there are probably more.

Yea, I agree about the remixes. Too bad, because Gusty Garden aka Champion's Road is a great song. AND THE 3D WORLD VERSION IS NOT IN 5 FLATS!!!!! Ignore that. I have musical tourette syndrome. Anyway, I think we can keep the Cave song and Rainbow Run even though they are remixes. I think they are different enough from their Super Mario Bros counterparts to deserve their own song. Although that will probably lead to a lengthy Composer list if we have to list the original.

Hey guys! Don't be afraid to request a song. We won't scrutinize your arrangement (too much :D) so feel free to tackle one of these tunes! There are a lot of them!

Hey guys!

Could anyone with the capability take this sheet and make the following changes? Thanks in advance!  :D

-Put an 8va on the extremely high D in the treble clef in measure 12
-Put an 8vb in the bass clef in the following sets of measures, inclusive: measures 45-62 and measures 89-93
-Change the key signature to F minor (4 flats) at measure 65*
-Change the key signature to Ab minor (7 flats, yikes :o) at measure 73*
-Change the key signature back to G major (1 sharp) at measure 81
-Add a tempo marking of 208bpm
-If possible, make the Swing text look not so ugly...

Notice the * next to the two short key signature changes. That means that if you evaluate the sheet and think that a different key is appropriate for either section, by all means use that key. Let me know if you do that, and I will probably agree with you.

Thanks guys, the help is appreciated!

If anyone wants to help, reply here or PM me. I'll gladly let you work on any of these. Well, almost any of them. The only one I probably won't give up is the Staff Roll. That's going to be my solo masterpiece to arrange. But anything else is fine. This is probably one of the best soundtracks in Super Mario history (although SMG and SMG2 are pretty hard to beat), and that is why these need to get on the site ASAP. Pianists need to learn songs like these.

Yeah, I've seen it at least at $260ish. Now if I found it at $200...that would be awesome. :) Geez, my arrangement thread is turning into musical Ebay or something...

It wasn't clear whether the English or Japanese titles were official translations or fanmade transliterations, so we opted for the Japanese one.

Ok, that makes sense. If only wikis could be 100% trustworthy... :P

Here are all the products: http://www.finalemusic.com/products/

Cool! I knew Finale had those products; I didn't realize they were all notation programs. So PrintMusic vs Songwriter: is it worth it to spend the extra money for PrintMusic? If so, what features does it have that Songwriter lacks?
