Looks like I haven't done an unfaithful arrangement in a while - here's my latest one, Mixing More Ingredients! It's based on "Mallow's Trial" from Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, a.k.a. "Mixing Ingredients" in some circles.

Want to hear what 15/16 time is like? I explore both 5 groups of 3 and 3 groups of 5 per measure in my newest piece, 5 By 3!

Prepared for another toccata that's crossed over between classical and heavy metal music? Try my Toccata No. 2 in A Minor ("To the Metal Ocean")!

Quote from: Tobbeh99 on January 28, 2021, 10:47:18 AMAre you saying I'm infringing on someone else copyrighted material and using that in a commercial setting?? (which you basically can call commercial piracy)??
I'll just say that similar scores on Musescore's website have been taken down for exactly this copyright infringement reason despite being offered for free. (Nowadays, Musescore's staff tries securing licenses to publish copyrighted music, but Disney is a notable exception they have been unable to secure and therefore stamp out scores of within days of publication instead.)

My belief is that it's pointless to charge money for music as long as you offer the sheet music for free in some fashion. Yes, that means that streaming your sheet music in a YouTube video counts. Yes, I have ripped sheet music from YouTube before by copying it manually into Musescore. If you offer sheet music for free (even with watermarks), your music is effectively free, regardless of how many paid versions of it you offer.

This is most of why I leave Creative Commons Attribution licenses on my compositions. It's still much more convenient to publish sheet music on Musescore than blanks with audio videos, I know I lose control over how others treat my music when everyone can rip it pretty accurately, and if I ever hear arrangements of my works, I want people to get the melody and harmony either correct or gloriously wrong. Minor melody and harmony mistakes still stick out to me like a sore thumb (even if I find harmony mistakes harder to conclusively detect).

Help! / Re: Conversion to .mus?

I recommend using the template and program in https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/forum/index.php?topic=10136.0 to reformat and convert your Musescore files. Copy and paste your Musescore music into the template and follow the instructions (including literally dragging and dropping files into the required places). You still need to do some work with the resulting Finale file, such as adjusting ottava lines, but this takes a lot of the work out.

Beware: I'd only trust the template with Musescore 2.X. Musescore 3.6 WILL do nasty things with the template, and Musescore 3.5 and lower may try reformatting it for ill.

Honestly, I find both sets of titles hard to completely trust - VGMDB missed a crucial word in 6-08's Japanese title, causing its translation to be wrong, while Eternal's translations of titles like 5-18 are definitely less faithful. (Both end up similarly playing loose with translations like 6-01, although HAL Laboratory's translations for the Kirby: Planet Robobot OST might be the loosest of all in places.)

Help! / Re: Please help me submit my arrangements!

For the matter, NinSheetMusic accepts only solo piano and piano duo arrangements, so I don't think this website will accept any version of "War Chronicles" with snare drum in it. Feel free to rewrite it to move all the snare drum notes to piano, though!

EDIT: Ah, my mistake - I only checked your Musescore arrangement just now and didn't previously realize that you wrote only solo piano sheet music for this. Sorry!

Managed to start a 3-movement piano sonatina yesterday and finish it today - here are all 3 movements of my Miniature Cyclic-Form Piano Sonatina in E Flat Major! All 3 movements are less than 3 minutes long each!

Here's a nice, exuberant jazz arrangement of "Joy to the World" for piano four hands: Joy to the Jazzy World!

Listened to your latest KRtDL "Volcano Area" transcription and noticed some things:
  • There is no starting dynamic indication. Mezzo forte or maybe even mezzo piano doesn't sound like a bad idea at the start, though!
  • The first staccato C eighth note in Bar 20 should be a 16th note instead, with the B natural immediately below it right afterwards as another 16th note.
  • IMO, this piece should be in 12/16 time instead of 6/8 time - this is particularly emphasized in 16th-note passages like Bars 21-24, where every third 16th note is de-emphasized (instead of every second 16th note as I'd expect from 6/8 time).

Quote from: AcceptedSugar on November 22, 2020, 10:07:24 PMSorry it's been so long- I lost the previous save and so I have to redo some things. I had half of my finals this week and some homework I had not anticipated.

I was hoping to finish this one and make another this weekend, but I just didn't have the time. I just wanted to let you know I didn't forget- I really appreciate your help.

I'm looking forward to working on it tomorrow :D

Thanks,

This was actually born as a contest entry where each musical section can only use 3 melody notes at most - I hope you like my video game cutscene chase theme Dark Chase anyway!
