Quote from: Latios212 on December 02, 2019, 04:07:01 PM- I'd recommend using 4 systems on page 1 and 5 on page 3, but up to you
- Page 3 is out of the margin
- The staccato accent on the octave C's in m. 32 look a bit awkward right up against the tuplet. You could try something like this by flipping the marking and moving the bracket up:

- good idea; I'll make sure to keep this in mind from now on
- oop, forgot to fix that after I modified my template. Taken care of now
- I agree, that looks much nicer

Files fixed!

Quote from: JacopoTore on December 05, 2019, 07:52:12 AMHope you can help me with composer and title <3 thanks guys

Once again, Jacopo, you are going to have to do these things yourself. You can't just give us an hour-long video with no timestamps and expect us to find the original; that's not how submissions are supposed to operate, as that can take up a lot of updaters' free time, which many of them lack. Please understand that they and other arrangers like me want to help you, but you are making things more difficult for us than they need to be.

I found a source on Zophar's Domain that provides the entire OST, but its "Track 16" is the "Track 15" you transcribed, so I'm not sure where you got that from. You will have to find a suitable name for the song; "Track 16" is not an acceptable title. Your sheets cannot be labeled as "Track #", please start acknowledging this!

As for the composer, I can't find anything. This game is so ridiculously obscure that I can't even find a longplay of the game, but even if I could, I doubt that there would be in-game credits (which would be in Japanese, anyway), because I can't find information on that, either.

Once again: I want to help you, and the updaters want to, too. But these kinds of things should not be their job to find, so if you continue to submit sheets from relatively undiscovered games, please do the proper research instead of leaving it to them.

Quote from: Libera on November 23, 2019, 04:09:08 PM-I'm not sure the 'a tempo' at the end is really necessary since I think the pause implies that, but it doesn't really matter if you want to keep it.

Quote from: Yug_Guy on December 04, 2019, 03:51:02 PMEh, I like it, so I'll keep it in.

You really can't argue with a point like that, I guess...

And now, here's the last "Dr. Wily Stage" theme from the Game Boy games!

[GB] Mega Man V - "Dr. Wily Stage"

[ZIP]

Nearly all aspects of the original song were able to be kept intact for this sheet, so I'm very pleased to bring it to all of you. Aside from this game's "Rush Space Stage", and a re-write I need to do for Mega Man II, this marks the final "Dr. Wily Stage" sheet I needed to do from the Game Boy games! This one isn't my favorite, but I still enjoy listening to it, as with all other Game Boy Mega Man tunes. Enjoy! I'm taking a break from arranging for a few days to focus on my final project for Composition class ~

I'm so glad this game is almost completely untouched right now!

[GB] Mega Man V - "Jupiter Stage"

[ZIP]

This song worked pretty well transcribed to piano; there was very little I had to cut or change, so I'm satisfied with it. How many more updates until I do another Mega Man V sheet? I'm not sure; it could be the next, it could be not for another 5. But this game will get the full-OST treatment I've already given to Game Boy games Mega Man III and Dr. Wily's Revenge. That's not in the near future, but the time will come someday. Enjoy!

Remember, Jacopo, if you list yourself and Giacomo Catgiu as arrangers, you need to add him as a collaborator when you submit sheets. Just please try to remember this in the future.

The video you linked lists Eiji Kato as the composer, so I would say it's okay to use that as a reference (as credits on the Internet are relatively scarce for this game). I watched gameplay of this and I think "Title Screen/Overworld" works good as a title , so go ahead and update your files accordingly.

Hey, did you forget that this game exists?

[NES] Wily & Right no RockBoard: That's Paradise - "Megalopolis"

[ZIP]

Happy thanksgiving, everyone! To celebrate having updated my OP layout (as well as spending several hours replacing all of the Dropbox links with Bitly links!) I decided to arrange a random, simple sheet while I wait to unveil my next two submission sheets. Yuki Iwai has made several great contributions to the Mega Man franchise, and this is no exception. Rockboard has all sorts of cool songs that I hope to bring here some day, so 'til then, enjoy "Megalopolis"!

Quote from: Libera on November 28, 2019, 10:48:08 AMI still don't really understand what this means.  If you have questions, why not just ask them rather than holding them back for some indeterminate amount of time?

That's just what I did; I asked about the sustaining of LH notes because you decided that my rhythm had been fixed. It's better to ask some of these as we go along, in case I get answers without having to ask. Like this one, which I was going to mention:

Quote from: Libera on November 28, 2019, 10:48:08 AMSomething else I noticed is that perhaps it would be better to bracket the left hand notes rather than the melody notes, as the melody notes are more important.

Fixed. Do I have do something similar with the overlapping Gs in m. 20? Or is it fine as written?

Yea, I can do that!

Files updated. As far as my questions go, one is this: do the LH notes ever feel they need to be sustained? MSF suggested that the octaves aren't always shortened 8ths like I have written, but I personally think what I have is fine. What does everyone think right now?

Quote from: Libera on November 28, 2019, 07:08:19 AM-I think most of these left hand stuff is actually power chords in the original but if you prefer it lighter then that's probably fine.
-It seems like there are some hits missing in the left hand (akin to how you have it in bar 33) in 27 onwards.
-You could try include the countermelody in bar 15-16.  It might not work though as I haven't really tried it yet.
-Something I'd definitely recommend is including some additional harmony from the pads in 35-42.  I have tried that and it works pretty well (just single semibreves in the right hand for each bar.)

- I don't really hear it as power chords in the LH; anything more than octaves would be a bit much, imo
- you didn't really specify, so I did my best to re-evaluate what I had and add a few in from m. 27 - 29
- believe me, I tried it and it didn't work very well, so if you can try your hand at it and come up with something good, I'm open to ideas
- could you write that out and show me what you have in mind?

Here's the current file.

Quote from: mikey on November 27, 2019, 06:13:22 PMif I'm nitpicking I would ask that you change the bpm to 60 for ocd purposes

I second this; it's only 1 bpm away from 60, which is a marked increment on most standard metronomes.

Oh cool, I've got 4 submissions at once now, nice.

NineLives, I'll DM you on Discord with a .zip. Hang tight!

Quote from: Yug_Guy on November 18, 2019, 06:40:53 PMBelieve it or not, there's a 20th anniversary CD which lists the composers for the original JPN/EU soundtrack to this game. Naofumi Hataya was the composer for this particular track, it looks like.

Thanks for the info, Yug! I made sure to change that when I submitted it, so your help is much appreciated!

Now, behold: another collab!

[N64] Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards - "Pop Star" (Replacement)

[TOPIC]

The distribution of work between Latios and I on this one was simple: I did the right hand part, and he did the left hand part. It took me a long time to write out the melody, but I think it's safe to say that my work and his work on this much-needed replacement paid off. There's still more Kirby 64 sheets to be done, replacements and new sheets, but we'll get to them in time. Enjoy this collab, and make sure to bring any comments to the topic linked above!
