Just popping in to say that I don't see why there are 3rd and 4th time repeats in the last section here.  It makes it look like that section plays four times whereas it doesn't in the original, it just goes straight back to bar 2 after bar 52 the first time.  Maybe there's something I'm missing but it doesn't make sense to me.

Cool, thanks for helping out with that, Latios.

Project Archive / Libera's Replacements

I did not manage to complete all of the replacements I wanted to due to health issues, unfortunately.  All of the below sheets should now be in the dropbox folder.  Note that all of these are challenge replacements.

Been meaning to submit for a while but kept putting off fixing it up.

Nice sheet.  The ending loop really reminds me of Eternal Night Vignette ~ Eastern Night from Imperishable Night...

-I'm hearing something different in the last half of bar 6 compared to bar 2, with the top voice going Bb C G rather than Bb A G.
-For the chords in 9-16, I'm hearing something a little different.  Generally speaking I don't hear the F chords you've written in.  I've put an image of the first two bars for example.

-I'm can't hear the Eb grace note at the start of bar 17.
-If you've got two graces together, like in 24, I'd recommend using semiquavers rather than quavers for them.
-The highest notes in the left hand of bars 31-32 I'm hearing as Gs.
-Second note of bar 20 and 28 right hand should be a G, like you have it later on.

Also, the second time round in the 9-16 section has the string part playing a much more substantial role and perhaps you might consider writing those eight bars out fully to include that change.  Although, maybe you already tried that and it didn't work out so well, so feel free to tell me otherwise.

Project Archive / Re: Replacements Update
May 31, 2020, 03:06:00 PM
I will hopefully find the time to make replacements for the remaining in-need sheets for Final Fantasy X (Auron's Theme and Bravely Forward) as well as some sheets for Final Fantasy VIII (Don't Be Afraid, Force Your Way, Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec and perhaps even Liberi Fatali).

Yeah we talked through it on discord, it's all good now!

Quote from: Libera on May 24, 2020, 01:03:30 PM-The composer/arranger info, subtitle and copyright are all slightly misaligned.  The composer/arranger info is horizontally misaligned, the copyright/url is vertically misaligned and the subtitle is both horizontally and vertically misaligned.

I know I'm being picky, but the subtitle and copyright info are still misaligned.  You can set the alignments to zero (i.e. perfectly aligned with the corresponding margin) by right clicking and clicking edit frame attributes.  The other edits look good though!

Not much for me to say here since I've already been through this, but I thought I'd do a final, slightly more detailed note check (not that I found much more).

-There's an F below the C in the right hand of bar 30.
-The first note of the left hand of bar 58 should be an F, this was probably just an input error since it's quite far off the stave.
-I don't hear the low Gb in the chord on beat 2.5 of bar 59.

Other things:

-I'd suggest centring the dynamics in bar 1, 17, 45-47 and 70 so that they're more halfway between the staves.
-You're missing a page number of the second page.
-The composer/arranger info, subtitle and copyright are all slightly misaligned.  The composer/arranger info is horizontally misaligned, the copyright/url is vertically misaligned and the subtitle is both horizontally and vertically misaligned.

Great work!

Awesome!  I've now fixed the articulations for you.  I also edited the staccatos in layer two's left hand in bars 33-37 to be next to the notehead while I was there (to match all of the other instances), which is hopefully alright with you.

Accepted.

Quote from: Code_Name_Geek on May 19, 2020, 12:42:15 PMAh shoot, I forgot by the time I posted that I had double-checked those notes and I'm pretty sure my original pitches were correct. I went back and checked again today (and took it up the octave to be extra sure) and I still think they are.

Yes you're right, don't mind me.

Quote from: Code_Name_Geek on May 19, 2020, 12:42:15 PMIs bar 54 beat 2 what you had in mind, or should it be even further to the left?

Yes, looks good.

Quote from: Libera on May 16, 2020, 09:36:32 AM-This doesn't particularly matter for the finished product, but it's better practice to make directions like the one in bar 40 as an expression rather than as text.  That way they are attached to the bar and move along with it if it's moved.

This still.  Also maybe the D.C. should be aligned to end at the barline rather than on top of it, although that's pretty minor.  Everything else looks good!

I'm sorry for the wait; I've been very busy recently.

Quote from: Libera on April 21, 2020, 01:16:45 PM-The second bass note in 37 sounds like a Dn to me, although that's probably too large a stretch for the left hand to have as is.
-The bass notes in 38 sound like Ebs to me.
Quote from: Code_Name_Geek on May 02, 2020, 11:50:26 AMFixed these.

They don't look fixed in the file you uploaded, maybe you grabbed the wrong file?  Or something else went wrong somewhere.

Quote from: Code_Name_Geek on May 02, 2020, 11:50:26 AMI gave this some thought and I definitely see what you mean. I've re-arranged this section with the march feel in mind, let me know what you think! A few things in particular:
-I moved the French horn melody to the right hand, which mostly works except measure 45 is a bit of a stretch. However, most of the tenths are minor tenths so I think it's okay?

Yes, this looks a lot more like what I was thinking.  Thanks for taking the time to re-arrange it; it's definitely improved for it!  Regarding the large stretches in the right hand, I'd recommend changing some of the octaves for the french horn line.  Bars like 45 are really awkward to play as is and it'd be far easier to make them thirds rather than tenths.  My specific suggestion for which notes should go up the octave would be bar 41 to beat 2 of bar 42 and bar 45 to beat 2 of bar 46.

Quote from: Code_Name_Geek on May 02, 2020, 11:50:26 AM-Are some of the leaps in the left hand too big?

They look fine to me, but if you want another opinion we can easily get one.

Other things:

-I'd suggest misaligning layer 2 in bar 54 beat 2 (slightly to the left) to make the overlap easier to read.
-This doesn't particularly matter for the finished product, but it's better practice to make directions like the one in bar 40 as an expression rather than as text.  That way they are attached to the bar and move along with it if it's moved.
-The page numbers and subtitles aren't aligned to the top margin correctly.
-Really nitpicky but it's probably better to align the piano marking in 57 the same as you have for all the other dynamics i.e. with beat 1.
