I've fixed the submission thread name.  Also to reiterate I would definitely give the formatting guidelines a look through and make this sheet fit them.  There are a lot of things to be done in that regard, e.g. bar numbers, indent on the first system, composer and arranger information, copyright only on the first page etc etc.

Dekkadeci has give you some other comments to have a look at (thanks by the way!) so definitely address those as well.

Edit: I've also just noticed that your pdf does not match your mus file.  Your pdf must be made from your mus file: this is a requirement for all submissions.

I feel like it's been a while since I posted.  It's definitely been a while since I've posted something not FE or Drakengard.

The Immortal Country: [Musx] [Pdf] [Midi] [Mus]

Edit: Also it looks like the channel that hosted all the youtube videos I used for Drakengard 1 got taken down, so I've replaced all those video links with new ones now.

I've changed a bunch of things.  You said a lot of small things so I'm not going to go through everything one by one, but if I haven't done something, it's not because I missed it.

Thanks for looking at it.

Got a new keyboard stand last night woo, so I can check notes now.

Notes:
-They look good.
-Apart from that run at the end;  I'm not sure on that bit.  I'm hearing four notes, and maybe there's two parts and one comes in a little later than the first.  I'm also hearing it ending on a D rather than an F.  Certainly a tricky bit.

Other things:
-The bit where you play the right hand in the bottom stave, is that because you want it an octave lower?  If not then it'd be better to write it in the top stave.  If that is what you want, I'd make it little clearer by changing the marking at the start to say 'Play bottom stave one octave lower' because at the moment I don't think it's entirely clear since you've marked that bit 'R.H.'
-I know I said to change to flats from 14, but I think the Ab at the start of bar 17 in just the right hand should be written as a G# to preserve the melodic line.  Also in the left hand of bars 14,15 and 16 I'd change the Gb to an F# to preserve the intervals in that chromatic descent.

Quote from: Latios212 on October 20, 2018, 09:46:40 AMIf you don't have Finale, feel free to ask for help here.

If there are things that you need doing that you can't do yourself, Latios posted the link above to the place to ask for help.  If you're unsure of what your sheet should look like then go here.

This applies to your other submission as well.

Quote from: WaluigiTime64 on November 16, 2018, 01:34:00 PMApologies for the double-post, but here's something no one asked for:

Double-post away; more arrangements is always good!

Does anyone know of a list of tracks that are used but that don't appear on the bandcamp album?

This is a bit better, but there are still a lot of issues.  For one, the .pdf has not been made from the .mus which is a requirement.  The title and game name aren't centred, the tempo marking reads \213 = 120 and the bottom stave on the first page is eating into the margins.  If you need any help, feel free to ask.
#2258
There's something very funny going on with your .mus file, and then font on your pdf doesn't match the .mus either.  For submissions to NSM, the pdf file must be made from the .mus file.

By very funny, I mean this:

I'd suggest reading the formatting guidelines and if you need any help, feel free to ask.  At the moment I don't think this submission is in a state that I can review effectively at the moment so I'll hold off on that for now.

Did you get duped, or are you trying to dupe us?

Still unable to check thoroughly, but a few things:

-I think in bars 45-52 the right hand would be better just in bass clef rather than 8vb treble (which is pretty non-standard.)
-The simplified LH is fine in most places, but there are a some moments that I feel would benefit from including the bass movement from the original.  The bit that caught my attention was bars 33-38 but there may be others.
-The difference in the original between bars 1-8 and is quite striking and I feel like it might be better to have p -> mf instead of mp -> mf just to make that difference a little bit more noticeable.
-Is the optional LH at the end a creation of your own?  I'm not hearing it anywhere in the original.  I'm interested to know your reasoning for including it, but that doesn't mean I think it's an issue (just curious :P).

Nice work.  I'll probably have more to say later when I'm able to.

(Oh and could you post some links in the arrangement thread for completeness? :P)

Since you seem to be more active at the moment, bump for THC.

As the panel was being funny I've uploaded those files for you.

The edits look good, nice work.  Any further reviewing is probably going to have to wait until I get a new keyboard stand unfortunately, but that shouldn't be too far off.

Quote from: WaluigiTime64 on November 14, 2018, 03:38:22 PM- There's also a lot of squished in stuff that could be remedied by shrinking the staff sizes (and maybe spreading everything differently).

I've just been spending the past while working on that myself.  Behold my new and improved measure distribution!

This keeps all first and second time bars on the same system which is much easier for reading and also keeps everything to less than six measures per system.  I also shrank the staff size to 6mm but it still works at 6.5mm if you prefer that (I just think this is a little neater.)

Event is a ... strange piece to say the least.  I hear you've been trying to arrange the Super Mario Sunshine, so I'm glad I can help you out with that.  Arranging an entire OST is a noble cause. :P

Quote from: Libera on November 13, 2018, 03:56:30 PMNot checking notes at the moment because my keyboard stand broke and now my keyboard is just lying on the floor why, but just some things to say from looking at the sheet.

Aesthetics:
-We've got a lot of collisions at the moment.  Most of them are glissandos colliding with accidentals (in fact, perhaps all of them.)
-It'd probably be a good idea to indent Goal!  It'll help it to stand out as its own piece but also will alleviate the over-stretching of those bars.
-You should probably hide the key signature change at the end of Event.

Playability:
-The glissandos:
  1) I'm not really sure how you're meant to perform bar 1 as it is written at the moment.  Hit the first glissando, then separately glissando (from the A?) to the E and then hit the second chord?  It's certainly not obvious what your intention is.
  2) For all the small left hand glissandos in bars 41-53, these are very tricky to perform accurately.  Glissandos are generally performed coming towards the body so these small glissandos in the low range moving away from the body are very demanding.  Especially when you are specifying the end note of each glissando.  I would seriously consider removing these from the sheet.
-Bars 18-21 (and every section afterwards that looks like it) are quite difficult to play.  Removing the repeated bottom note (i.e. just Bb D Bb D etc.) would sound very similar and be much easier to play.

Other:
-We have staccatos on the bass line but none currently in the right hand.  I think some of the crotchets in the right hand could do with them (e.g. the first note in bar 6).  It's something to consider anyway.
-You don't need two layers in bar 13.  I think you should also take bars 8-9 down to one layer as well.  The only thing you're extra layer is giving you there is an extension of the Eb and Bb in bar 9 beat 1 by a quaver, but when you're performing that you'd need to cut it short anyway.

I think that's it for now; I'll give this another look after you've addressed these comments.

Quote from: LeviR.star on November 14, 2018, 04:38:38 AMThank you for always responding with feedback so quickly, Libera.

Always happy to help. :)

In other news, I've added a link to the official tracklist and also a list of collaborators (people who have posted a sheet to this thread) in the OP.

Quote from: Zeila on October 20, 2016, 01:00:00 PMIf I'm inactive for a month then anyone can edit/submit my sheets

I've uploaded the files with my edits, taking into account everything said so far.  I'll take care of this submission from now until Zeila comes back.

Needless, to say, but I approve.
