Quote from: SlowPokemon on January 18, 2015, 02:39:53 PMI don't think anyone can call it a BAD show but yea the only noteworthy thing about it is that Korra ended with canon lesbians :J

Oh I'm not saying it's a bad cartoon. I enjoyed it, especially the parts with Zuko. A lot of my friends hyped it though, so I thought it would be better than that is all. I think the hype ruined it for me.
I mostly watched it because I want to watch Korra. Dat ending :3

^You're a bit wrong here.
Dashes are used in interrogatives and can also be used with imperatives.

Quote from: NocturneOfShadow on January 18, 2015, 01:36:38 PMIn french doesn't vous work as well as tu though

You could use vous instead of tu. Vous is more polite. So if you're talking to a stranger, or someone older than you, you could use vous. We're required to say vous when adressing our teachers here, but some of them don't like it, so they allow us to use tu instead.
They use vous a lot more in France. In Canada we use tu more. (Most people complain when we say vous)

tl;dr
Vous can be used as a polite tu
otherwise you use it when talking to more than 1 person, or you're talking to someone but refer to their group (I suck at explaining)

So I finished watching Avatar: The Last Airbender
And I really don't get why people said it's an amazing show

^Yeah, and the sky was fairly... bland too. Couple islands here and there, but to me the sky felt kinda empty. And it's not like you can really explore the areas when they're so linear too. =P

Yay! You can translate the phrases for me that I've included, and include some new ones! Just whatever you think is useful is fine, maybe I'll have more ideas, but you actually live in a French-speaking place, so enlighten us~ :D

LET ME ENLIGHTEN YOU
Canadian French and French spoken in Europe are a bit different, so I'll add both version if need be.

General

(To a friend, platonic) I love you.
Je t'aime bien

(To someone you LOOOOVE) I love you.
Je t'aime/Je t'adore

(To your relatives) I love you. (Probably only socially acceptable to say if you're a girl)
Je t'aime (You can say that if you're a boy as well)

What the hell are you talking about?
France: Putain, mais de quoi tu parles? / De quoi tu parles?
Canada: De quoi tu jases? / De quoi tu parles?

Shit (used whenever it's appropriate to swear)
France: Putain (I'm not really familiar with France's swear words)
Canada: Tabarnak, osti, viarge, ciboire, sacrament, calice, criss, etc. (the list it sooper long)

Go to hell
Canadian French: Va chier
French: Vas te faire foutre

Getting out of trouble

Can I throw up in your bathroom? I'll buy something.
Je peux vomir dans ta toilette? Je vais t'acheter quelque chose.

I'm really drunk.
Male: Je suis complètement saoul
Female: Je suis complètement saoule

You're really sweet.
Male: T'es vraiment gentil
Female: T'es vraiment gentille

Getting in trouble/dirty stuff

Undress me.
Déshabille-moi

How long are you? When you're not talking about height
Elle mesure combien? / Elle est longue comment?

Can you send me a naked photo?
Tu peux m'envoyer une photo de toi nu?

I don't think you understand. I love SS. Ancient Cistern is, hands down, my favorite dungeon ever. If you read the other thread where everyone posted their Zelda top 5/top 10, you'd see that SS is my favorite Zelda game ever.
That being said, the game is linear. Yeah, you can hunt those godess cubes/treasure chests all you want. Doesn't change the fact that, at the end of the day, you have to go from point A to point B to continue the story. FFX, one of the game that was shat on the most because it was too linear, offered plenty of side-quests and minigames. But we're not talking about those. We're talking about the main story and the places you need to visit in order to complete said story.
If you can't see why people would be upset about only having 3 main overworld places to visit, I can't really help you. I personally didn't mind it, but I can see why people would hate it.
Linearity =/= Bad. But I could see why people wouldn't like SS as much because of that.

Yeah I didn't mind it too much, but I can understand why people would hate it. Not everyone likes linear games, and this one was linear as fuuuuuuuuck (kinda)

Quote from: SuperFireKirby on January 17, 2015, 11:16:14 PMHonestly SS isn't my fav either. The dungeons are definitely clever and well-designed, but it has one of my least favorite overworld's of any LoZ title and the Wiimotion Plus quickly becomes gimmicky and tiresome. Still a great game all-around.

Also Cavestory is probably the best thing I've never payed money for. LOVE IT

I don't really mind linear games (I absolutely love FFX), but I can see why people didn't enjoy the overworld. Honestly, it was kinda dumb to revisit the same places over and over again. That's probably why they're making a huge overworld in the next Zelda installment.
I don't see why people complain about the controls though. Could be just me, but I never had any problems with the motion controls whatsoever when I played the game. I enjoyed the motion controls in TP and in SS, but I guess having the option to play with the Controller Pro would've been nice.

Quote from: SlowPokemon on January 17, 2015, 10:32:17 PMWind Waker is definitely noticeably different so it makes sense you'd like the others and not this one. From what I've played of it though it's actually a very enjoyable game and the art style is beautiful.

Yeah, I guess so. It's definitely a great game, and it has its strong points (the art style, as you said, is pretty damn gorgeous)
I have the HD remake, so maybe I could play that and see if it's fun or not.

Quote from: mariolegofan on January 18, 2015, 10:25:24 AMYou played it?
I was surprised by the difficulty.

I used to think it was hard.
I played it not too long ago, and was surprised it wasn't as tough as I remembered.
