Yeah I was thinking about getting it- is it worth it?

Probably not for long.

It's not that much better then Notepad. I can hardly tell the difference...granted there are some. It you want anything higher I'd do Printmusic of Allegro.

Yeah I got the demo and it seems similar- says 128 instruments and I can only see a couple new in percussion.
It does have the things like changing signatures and clefs halfway through the song which is useful and you can make mp3s...

Get Printmusic if you realy want something better than Notepad and if you ever think of getting the FULL FINALE don't all it is is a BEEFED up Finale Allegro which is fine and all but If you want a VERY Powefull tool go with Allegro same thing as Fianle only not very beefy and if you just want an upgrade go with Printmusic(I have it) and it's wonderful!

 ???
Uh... okay... that was a pretty INTENSE reply...
Thing is I can't really afford print music, however I probably can get songwriter, but I would like printmusic.
I'm from the UK, so it costs £75 for printmusc (around $150) for us from the British site that sells finale products.
That's kinda unfair, I think.

I would have to say wait cause Finale Songwriter isn't that great (I tried it) and it's just like notepad. but that is MY opinion. so go with what you think will be good.

random_goldfish

And if you ever get interested in the Garritan Personal Orchestra *drools* don't buy it through the full version of Finale. The GPO software alone costs 200 dollars but if you buy the full version of Finale with the GPO included it costs 600 dollars.

Songwriter REALLY isn't worth it. I'd wait and save for Printmusic.

Finale 2008. Has everything I need.

Tranzlater

Ok well I'll probs go for Printmusic then- I have absolutely NO CHANCE of getting Allegro in the near future- and heck I'm never gonna get Finale anyways.
Thanks guys, I'll stick with the demo (switching computers as I run out) for now.

It once took me an entire week to download Finale 2008 through torrent and then I couldn't get the authourization code to work so I don't have it anymore...and the GPO wouldn't download to my computer...*tear*...the exact reason I went through the trouble to download 2008. But I agree...buy?

You should have asked somebody for help.  The only way to get the GPO to install correctly is to mount the discs or burn them onto actual discs.  I have a keygen that works myself so you could've gotten it from me.

I'd really like to find out how to mount GPO on a CD so I can get it. I'll get some help in the near future. Not until I get my own computer...which is actually very soon. But until then I'll be as patient as ever. But if anyone can offer me help...that would be more than appreciated.

SongWriter works perfectly for me...
I dont need all the fancy stuff that other versions offer. Being able to change Time and Key Signature is really all you need.
