idk man, it sounds wrong to me as well, and I can't figure out how the sentence works grammatically. If "you" is the subject, shouldn't it come before the verb, "do"?

I think a pretty large majority of Americans do not speak English out of a choice. It is not necessarily their opinion that English is the "best" language. In fact, it is almost certainly inferior to other languages in many ways.
