EDIT: Though, then again, it would definitely be difficult to bring in new players when this game is more complex than others.  It may intimidate them.  Hmm... I suppose I'll just have to see what I'm able to do then.

I'm really NOT in the mood to take on a TWG game at this present moment... maybe in late September I'll throw my hat in the ring (maybe not because of Music, Accounting Club, Community Council and College GOP Campaigning for 2012... it's going to be a pretty busy year)

Hey Mashi tried to get to me join.

My main complaint are that the Unknown's power are pretty much useless.  They don't have a reliable way to get together and know which power they have.  The Messenger using his power helps the other person a lot more than it helps him.  It really only helps him if he finds another Unknown, in which case the other person gets said Unknown killed.  The painter (or Hypnotist.  With your silly new names) is pretty useless if he doesn't know his power or his partners, and the revoker (Illusionist.  Both of these were accidents I decided to keep so oh well) is really only useful if the Seer claims, and he knows his role.  Both of which aren't likely to happen.

Combine that with the fact that they don't know their partners, are too easy to find (an orange result is pretty much guaranteed to be an Unknown, and all 4 Unknowns are originally orange.), and don't have a reliable way to kill their enemies (Wolves can kill at night, Humans have the majority when lynching.), it honestly really isn't fair for the Unknowns.

I'm not going to sign-up right now, because at this current state I'd rage if I got an Unknown for a role.  They simply start at a disadvantage.

You bring up good points, but for many of them I disagree. Consider this: true, the unknowns don't know their partners to begin with. However, the messenger is really a win-win: if he discovers an unknown, he tells them and they each now have an ally and the new unknown can use his power. If he discovers a Wolf or a Human, then it's safe to lynch that player.

Also, I wouldn't see a problem with the Seer claiming, as anyone trying to lynch him would give themself away as a nonhuman (unless they suspected the Seer of lying...I guess I see your point. Still, it doesn't matter if the Seer claims; the Hypnotist can still mess with his head by changing a player's color, even if the Seer himself is unknown (no pun intended).
