I have Finale 2011, and I was wondering if it is possible to make tempo changes.
If not, is there a workaround for site submissions? Such as making it in another program for the PDF and MIDI? Thanks in advance for the help.

EDIT: See last post for another question I need help with. Thanks.

you would use the expression tool.
two ways of doing this

1)click on an existing tempo marking and hit "edit..."
2)in the sidebar with all the categories, hit tempo marks and then create tempo mark.

in the playback tab of the expression designer, you could set it so that the expression plays at the tempo you have written in the text box(match playback to metronome marking text) or you could set it to type: tempo | note value
and effect:set to value: tempo.

Ok thanks, I will try that. Also, is there any way to do accelerandos and ritardandos?

Will they be functional, or just aesthetic?
I also ask the same about crescendos and decrescendos, which seem not to function.

Thanks for all the help. Sorry about all the questions haha :P
Actually never mind, there's a crescendo tool. XD

EDIT: Time to revive this thread for more help.
So I have a Gb, and I want it to trill to a G natural. I used the trâ™®~~~~ custom line, but the note during playback seems to still trill to an Ab. Any way to fix this?

go to the custom line tool than up top go to smartshape-> smartshape options. make sure smart lines is a custom line and then go to select... and scroll down to the symbol that looks like a trill symbol with a natural above it. alternatively enter 25 in smart lines.

Yes, I used that, but it is still trilling from Gb to Ab, not to G natural.

Don't worry about it too much-As long as it looks alright it should be fine. Finale is a notation program, not a midi sequencer....Grumble grumble...
