Actually, that's what happened to me. I found Pikmin 1 A LOT easier after I went and beat Pikmin 2, and then came back to the original. So if you don't like Pikmin, try playing the sequel first without the time limit to get used to the gameplay, and then it's a lot easier to go back to Pikmin 1.
