The crowd slowly gathered in the town square to hear the mayor's announcement.  Two pairs of eyes found each other in the crowd with a slight nod of acknowledgment.  The mayor stood up.
"Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears!  Hahaha, I've always wanted to say that.  Anyhow, it has come to my attention that a group of vigilantes known as the Mafia have terrorized our poor village in the night.  Fortunately I have come up with a plan to FIND these so-called...  What would you call them?  Mafiites?  Mafians?  No matter.  We WILL find them, I promise you!"
"And how are we gonna do that, eh?" said a villager with a decidedly New York accent for an Italian.
"Simple!  Rather than question each villager, we will simply hold a public vote.  The winner of this vote, instead of becoming mayor like I, shall DIE!  Because he's clearly a Mafian... this is SO my new favorite word... since all of you voted for him to be Mafian!  And I don't just say Mafian just to say the word, even though Mafian has a certain ring to it... Mafian...  Maaffiiiian... Huh, after you say it for a while it sounds slightly odd.  So anyway, that's what we're doing."
"Uh..." said the crowd.
"Let's kill Yugi!" a random voice shouted.
"That makes no sense!" another one shouted.  "maelstrom. lives next to The_Subjective_Thought, it was him!"
"Please, I claim it was Mashi!"
"MASHI!  Why are you voting for yourself?!"
" 8)"
"I second Yugi." a clear voice rang out.
"YUGI IT IS!!!! The mayor cried out.  "NocturneOfShadow, show him what he's wonnnn!"
NocturneOfShadow hoisted up Yugi, tied heavy weights to his legs, and threw him down the well.
"Sorry Yugi, good host and whatnot," he called down after him.  "Nothing personal."
As everyone slowly left the town square, fank009 muttered under his breath, "Somehow... I don't think this Mafia threat will leave that easily.  More must be done..."

yes, it is sarcasm.

Thoughts.

chat with mashi
04:32:06: <fank009> ...
04:32:16: <fank009> mashi...
04:32:19: <fank009> why,
04:32:24: <fank009> did it have to be you...
04:34:07: <Mashi> Hmm?
04:35:29: <fank009> we dont have a lot to go on, and naturally, our strongest leans are each other.
04:36:29: <fank009> nocturne's defence was basically nonsense defence, and my "explanation" of it was nonsense as well... which is why you currently have a lean on me.
04:36:36: <fank009> Maels...
04:36:40: <fank009> why am I thinking noct :/
04:36:41: <fank009> :/
04:36:45: <fank009> anyway
04:37:16: <fank009> my lean on mael, is basically two things.
04:37:39: <fank009> one, saying that its a common wolf tactic.
04:37:59: <fank009> two, mael is not experienced enough, to pull it off.
04:38:20: <fank009> yes, I can make mistakes, when people put on a good act.
04:38:44: <fank009> comparing night one of the last two games, I dont really see any difference in his play.
04:39:38: <fank009> I dont think he is used to miller type scenarios, and as a result his reaction was somewhat giving off scum feels.
04:40:07: <fank009> ^can somewhat give off scum feels
04:41:18: <fank009> with your slow play, I really do think that you were looking for an easy lynch in mael. instead you got one better in yugi.
04:41:51: <fank009> if you arent scum, 2 of bubbles/bds/dude fmpov
04:42:16: <fank009> BDS I would give a pass, but my lean isnt strong enough.
04:44:09: <fank009> yugi was a horrible lynch.
04:45:07: <fank009> trying to have a look back at the votes... if you did vote mael, it would have been 2-1?
04:45:13: <fank009> 2-2 I meant.
04:45:36: <fank009> why did you keep mael alive?
04:45:47: <fank009> (need to confirm the votes...)
05:02:10: <fank009> mashi
05:02:12: <fank009> thoughts?
05:02:54: <fank009> actually on further inspection, looked like the votes were 4-1
05:04:57: <Mashi> Yeah.
05:05:04: <Mashi> It was 3-1 when I checked
05:05:13: <Mashi> So voting maelstrom wouldn't have done anything.
05:05:32: <Mashi> And I think NocturneOfShadow was in EDT, so I thought Phase was ending in 15 minutes than an hour and and 15.
05:05:48: <Mashi> Oh, wait, 3-0
05:05:53: <Mashi> Doodle changed his vote, yeah.

log from a chat with mashi, somewhat more clarifies my villa lean on mael, and a bit more on my mind processes of this game.

Quote from: Mashi on August 24, 2014, 07:47:19 AMAnd why are you even suspicious of me?  Bubbles and I are in agreement about the seering choice being odd, yet you view Bubbles as Human but not me?
Bubbles I have no lean of, if you read my post, I (tried to) clearly state that the quote was basically the case against yugi. I never said anything about bubbles...

Quote from: maelstrom. on August 24, 2014, 09:46:30 AMAnd a contradiction: Yugi said he seer'd me because I was one of the 3 most active people night one. But then he says
Why would I be so low on his suspicions when he said he seer'd me because I was suspicious?
Gambits really, you wouldnt want to go for your top leans as to who might be seered red. wish I could have pointed this out earlier :/.

of all the yugi voters, bubbles was the only one that presented a real genuine reason fmpov.
(Mael I shot down, dude is dude, and mashi voted because the mael/fank train wasnt moving.)

Quote from: Mashi on August 24, 2014, 07:47:19 AMfank009's focusing too much on maelstrom for my own liking too.
was anyone/thing else being brought up? also, if I was just focusing on mael, why the hell did I give leans on BOTH, BDS and yugi. mael was the subject of discussion, the discussion you brought up mashi.
The original suspicion on you was you cashing in on the fact that the seering/painting combo didnt make sense and trying to discredit one of them. things got more personal when you called me out on my gibberish post. it wasnt really that clear, and a good chance to form an attack. which you did.

as much as I think I have mashi pinned... that still leaves one more person who is in the shadows that im unsure of, and seeing how there is no real discussion going about everyone else, next phase is gonna be a nightmare...

Spoiler
As night descended, several villagers lay awake, pondering the previous day's events.  One of these villagers, however, was pondering them quite differently than the others.  Fank009 sighed and rolled out of bed.  He rolled across the floor then rolled out into the hall.  He rolled down the stairs and out the door.  He rolled down the street, then, satisfied that he had thouroughly abused the commonly used idiom, he got up and brushed the dirt off his shirt.  Looking around, he couldn't see anything because it was pitch black.  Taking a second look, he still couldn't see much.  Then, he could see a faint candlelight flickering in the church.
"I'm going to get to the bottom of this whole thing myself," he said.
He crept toward the cathedral and slowly pressed the large door open.
CREAAAAAAAAAAK!
Fank009 cussed.  Now whoever was in there knew he was in there too.
Sighing, he turned on his flashlight and dashed toward the front of the pews.  There, kneeling in front of an altar, was...
Maelstrom.!
"Aha..." He cried.  "I knew it was you..."
"What?  Oh, no!  I wasn't- I just-"
"I've got you now, mafian...  NOW WHO'S YOUR PARTNER..."
"No, fank009!  You've got it all wrong!  I'm on your side!"
"Then what are you doing here...  :/"
"Same as you, looking for clues.  Check out what I've got here."
Fank009 bent over to see what maelstrom. was looking at.
It was a mafia cap.
"See, fank009?  Clearly the Mafia have been using this cathedral as their hideout!"
"Hmmm..." he mused.  Maelstrom. did have a point.  "Tell you what... We split up and look for more clues..."
"Hm, sounds good.  You can pick first."
They split off in separate directions.  Brushing cobwebs out from in front of the doors, maelstrom. pushed his way into an adjacent cloister.  Looking around, he saw nothing of interest.
Fank009 went the other way, into a long hallway with several rooms.  After minutes of exploration and on the peak of giving up, he saw something.  A giant footprint in the dust... no... two?  Three?  A trail!  But the trail... was leading back toward the cathedral...
"MAELSTROM. ... Watch out!"  He yelled, dashing from the small room.
He bumped into a dark figure.  As the figure leaned down toward him, his face came close enough to see.
"You?  But I just...  ughnnhhnh..." he moaned as the figure slid a dagger into his midsection.  The tall stranger stiffened, then dashed away.
***
Mashi couldn't sleep.  He decided to go for a stroll.  Lighting a small torch, he stepped outside and headed toward the cathedral.  As the cathedral came into view, he saw a figure running from the cathedral.
"WAIT!  STOP!"  He shouted, chasing after the shadow.
He gave pursuit until the shadow disappeared around a corner.  Sighing, he headed back home.  On the way, he paused.  He saw someone trying to get into their house...  It was maelstrom. !
"Caught you red-handed," Mashi whispered as he swung around and dashed off toward the mayor's office.

Well, since Fank has expressed his opinions, I think I should as well (I was going to wait until the day, but it's always better to get opinions out ASAP)...

During the Day, I was really on the fence concerning Yugi vs. Maelstrom, but after seeing how the lynch went, I'm more suspicious of Maelstrom now. Bubbles' vote, his, and Dude's (why did you vote Yugi again?) were really what solidified the Yugi lynch, and it seems as if that's why Mashi went along with it (thus, I don't think his following of the lynch is really suspicious, at least compared to the others). Mael's vote mainly seems like a self-preservation vote, to gain momentum on a Yugi lynch when, prior to that point, it seemed as if many people were indecisive (which easily could have led to a Maelstrom lynch had things gone differently).

I feel like Maelstrom's (alleged) reasoning for voting for Yugi is a bit... wonky (?) as I explained in minute detail here- this is the main reason why I suspect that Maelstrom's vote was merely to keep the lynch away from himself. Likewise, when Bubbles voted, I felt as if her reasoning was a bit weird as well (which I pointed out as well just below; however, I think my response to Maelstrom's vote also applies in this situation as well). Bubbles' vote, as well, also provides a bit of a contradiction: she says that "mael seems like a reasonable person to paint," yet Maelstrom himself says that he's "nowhere near the best target for a seering," which would mean that Mael is not, in fact, a reasonable person to paint (though, as I also mentioned earlier, the wolves might paint different people depending on who they are).

Right now, I'm thinking of a Mael/Bubbles pairing for the wolves, or a Mael/Dude pairing.

Quote from: BlackDragonSlayer on August 25, 2014, 07:07:33 PMAlso: Who is the seer?
Not me.  :P But it's pretty obvious the wolves would paint me again. On the off chance that someone decided to seer me, it would cast suspicion off them. And yes, I am still a human.

On the other hand, why would the wolves paint you when:
1: It doesn't seem likely that you'd be seered (both Dude and you have expressed doubt over the reasoning for the seering, and we have yet to hear what anybody else has to say, or who the seer is, or why they seered you).
2: A green result at this point would be more dangerous to the wolves than a red (assuming there are two wolves left, four people would be red in total- and since you've already been seered, the chances of you being so again would likely be decreased, thus meaning that the paintings could likely be used on somebody else).

Quote from: BlackDragonSlayer on August 25, 2014, 07:06:25 PMBubbles' vote, as well, also provides a bit of a contradiction: she says that "mael seems like a reasonable person to paint," yet Maelstrom himself says that he's "nowhere near the best target for a seering," which would mean that Mael is not, in fact, a reasonable person to paint (though, as I also mentioned earlier, the wolves might paint different people depending on who they are).
I don't see how mael's opinion affects mine. He thinks he'd not be a good person to seer, I thought he would be a reasonable one to paint. I explained in my post why I thought he could have been painted even though he wouldn't be my first choice to seer.

I'm kind of doubting myself on the Yugi lynch now that mael was seered red again. I wasn't online enough after a few hours after I posted, and I probably would have doubted my vote earlier if I had read through (but tbh I wouldn't have changed it either). He never really commented specifically on my vote on him which I thought strange since I was one of the few who pointed out specifics

I need the seer to claim before I make any more assumptions, but the only way I can see maelstrom being painted again would be if the wolves got the seer power last night. Or the seer wasn't trying too hard. Either way, the identity of the seer is very important this phase. Claim please?

Also I had a really cool plan but Nocturne says dead people can't be seered :c

Mashi

I was the seer.  I seered maelstrom because I doubted that the Wolves would paint the same Player twice; so if he was Green, he was confirmed and if he was Red, he was probably a Wolf.  No idea why fank009 was killed (he was my second top suspicion), but that maelstrom was seered Red twice is damning evidence, I feel.

Going to look over the game later today, since I'm tired now (I won my LLF TWG though  ).
