We all know the struggle, Static.

Hi there, fellow VGM enthusiasts! Please note that not all of these are polished up, because some of them are pretty old. As I continue to add brand new sheets, from time to time I will re-write existing ones with new ideas I've picked up (of course, you know this cycle will never end). But feel free to check out what I've got, and if you find any broken links, let me know!

Color Code

Brown: Very old. Not even formatted correctly, so don't bother offering feedback, because I'm going to re-do the sheet myself eventually.
Teal: Semi-Fully fixed/formatted properly. May or may not be very new, but is suitable enough for performing.
Lime Green: In submissions. You can any bring feedback to its submission topic, where it is being prepared.
Orange: In projects for a special update. Like the above case, you may offer suggestions for it in the project thread.
Gold: On the main site. Any changes made to it (i.e. formatting fixes) will be up to the updaters and I.
Purple: Defunct sheet. Someone else's version has been accepted to the site since its upload here, so chances are I won't be touching it again. See also: Deleted Sheets[close]

I hope I have this song mostly polished up. These are the only issues I see right now:

1. The last measure is stretched over as one bar, and I don't know how to even it out.
2. The copyright text is dangerously close to the bar line, but it hasn't changed places from the template.
3. The repeat sign isn't working, due to my software version; this is minor, though.
4. The suggestion text -- does it need relocation/font adjustment?

Thank you all in advance.  :)

Deleted Sheets

(These 4 sheets are not counted towards my sheet total)1. [GB] Kirby's Dream Land - "Castle Dedede Lobby" - [MUS]

(Called "Boss Room" on the site)

Reason Why: This sheet's corresponding song was included by Latios212 in his "Miscellaneous Short Themes" sheet after I had posted mine, so I had no reason to keep it, not to mention it was an awful sheet.

2. [GB] Super Mario Land - "Oh! Daisy" - [MUS]

Reason Why: This sheet's corresponding song was included by Latios212 in his "Ending" sheet before I had posted mine, so I had no intention of keeping it around; besides, his was better anyway.

3. [GB] Super Mario Land - "Boss" - [MUS]

Reason Why: This song was re-written and included in my "Short Themes & Sound Effects" sheet, so it was rather useless by its outdated self.

4. [NES] Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - "Boss" - [MUS]

(Called "Guardian" on the site)

Reason Why: I was home from school one day, miserably sick with the stomach flu, and I tried arranging a short song while coping with an additional headache. Truth be told, I checked the site to see if it had already been done, but I didn't check close enough; it already exists on-site as "Guardian", arranged by FierceDeity. My sheet was no better than the existing one, so I found its presence redundant.

Note: PA sheets here will no longer be deleted, in favor of the new defunct sheet label.

Great arrangement, and great job with your formatting! Good formatting gives me more time to look at other possibilities for improving an arrangement! ^^

-It looks like you don't have any dynamic marking indication. Even though the dynamics are relative in these old game tunes, we require at least an opening dynamic for piano arrangements hosted on the site.

-These are the only incorrect pitches: M9, 13, 21, & 17, LH: the B should be a C above that.

-In measure 9 (and everywhere else this occurs) the RH has the rhythm eighth note-quarter rest-eighth note. While there is nothing wrong with having this rhythm, I've learned in my own experience that breaking the quarter rest into two eighth rests and beaming the two notes together can sometimes make it easier to put that second note in the right place for the player.

-As for the form, I would simplify it with repeats so that it A) makes it easier to see what's going on from a larger perspective, and B) to conserve space that we'll need for explaining the LH variations to come. What I suggest is having measures 1-4 repeat (deleting the written out repeat that is 5-8), then having measures 9-16 repeat (also deleting 17-end, which is the same material as 9-16). After this, I would add a "D.C. last X" at the end of measure 16 to signify a repeat of the entire piece.

As for the LH variations, I would write them out like this: [MUS]

(due to some wizardry, the playback works)

Thanks for the help! Now, should the version you gave to me go to the submission forums? Or do I need to edit it?

Olimar12345:
You're free to use the version I made you for the submissions! I'm sure it would help it roll along much faster/much more smoothly!
