Off-Topic / Re: Made mah day.

:D I wanted to revive it to get some positivity back on the forums (as opposed to nothing whatsoever)

Made mah day: I bought two lamps for my home and it's so much better than the harsh ceiling lights. I'm using the momentum to also hang up the rest of my posters. Truly, this place is starting to feel more like a home than just an apartment. All that's left:
-Fairy lights
-Plants
-Maybe a rug bc it's all tile throughout
-More posters (at least two frames, one for one of my degrees bc I only have the other in a frame, and another for the Super Mario Galaxy 3D All-Stars poster since it kept breaking frames in my previous apartment)

EDIT: Update, one of the posters (my favorite, actually) just fell for the second time. Not fitting for this thread, but I'm kinda tired of having to use command strips to hang up things in frames when the frames are built such that the command strips are set into the back of the frame bc the whole thing is recessed. Guess I get to buy a different frame for this poster, yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

That sounds unhealthy.

Question to anyone who is so motivated to help out an arranger, how would you go about arranging this?
I already have a preliminary version arranged but it's really rough around the edges. Three things in particular that I'm wondering,
1) Would you have a pedal marking for this piece? Some things sound as though they could go for pedal, but the bassline definitely sounds too crisp to have it.
2) How would you go about the slide guitar? Currently I have a crap ton of glissando throughout the piece, but that's not at all realistic for someone trying to play the piece irl (unless they want to break their hands). Would it be better to just cut the glissandos altogether and let the pedal throughout fill that slided(?) notes effect?
3) There's the like, high register piano line in the background, would you include that? And how? I imagine another voice in the RH (and maybe octave shifting to make it playable with everything else), but getting that free-flowing rhythm to it is difficult. It sounds like it's slowing down slightly toward the end of each measure.

(For reference, I have the files for my current arrangement in the OP)
Many thanks to anyone so willing to help an arranger out to maybe submit this for the project :)

Super Mario Sunshine - "Corona Mountain"

This one had its round already in submissions but then things got too busy. I sat down just now and applied a majority of the feedback given in that run, and am now waiting to get Dropbox access (have PM'd Latios with email) to add the files to the project folder. Note that I am not on Discord, so I will only receive notifications here about feedback.

I'm also contemplating submitting "Sirena Beach" (*if that would fit the theme?*) since I have it mostly finished, will need to check it over to see if it needs a bunch of work before adding it here.

EDIT: The file has been submitted to the folder!

:D nice! It makes me think of going for a little jaunt down the sidewalk of some town with a clear blue sky overhead.

Anyone ever have one of those moments of realization that just rocks you to your core and leaves you with the wind knocked out of you for a while?

Yeah I had one of those earlier this morning, perhaps one of the biggest I've had in my life, and now I'm just sitting here trying to take all of it in while trying to figure out the best way moving forward.

Long and short of it is, I've been stuck in "survival mode" all of my life bc of how I was raised, and as a result, I don't know anything about who I really am because it's all been hidden behind this survival mode defense mechanism. Also some of it was inherited, not just how I was overtly taught (or otherwise) to be.

Woooooo being an adult trying to figure things out essentially on your own because you were given mostly nonexamples growing up is a fun time.

EDIT: Man, I've been off of Discord for less than a day and I'm already having realizations like this. Two months of this and I'll be completely unrecognizable upon my return.

Look forward to playing with you all!
:D looking forward to playing with you as well! Welcome!

Quote from: SpecsFlyer17 on August 09, 2023, 05:54:15 PMGadd, the unknown nature of Hylia makes your game a bit of a mystery, but that's by design could really make the game fun. I do agree that the Yellow Wizzrobe needed a second win condition should the thunderstorm miss, which it looks like you added. With two wolves, I think having at least 7 humans makes it balanced, although the lack of information about Hylia makes that a bit of a question mark. I guess we'll find out eventually (or one of us will)!
Heheh Hylia is the most fun role for the host, I think. I had a lot of fun thinking of Hyrule-relevant names for game-relevant powers that hint at what they do without revealing anything. It could very well impact the outcome of the game. Unfortunately, in the last iteration of the game, in addition to the Wizzrobe dying N1, Hylia chose the three LEAST interesting powers the three nights the game lasted.

Well, ig it isn't too unrealistic considering we had 8 last game and someone said something or other about inviting a friend who would be active as well? Idk maybe I got used to the barely getting games together age we went through before this :')
