I recentley found out that Apple's market cap is worth more than that of Greece, South Africa (my home country, and no, i'm not black) and a couple of other countries that i can't remember. I'm kinda an Apple fanboy and my house has heaps of Apple products, so yeah.

Yep, they have enough cash to buy companies at 8billion or less... and 20 years ago, if you said you invested in Apple, you were the laughingstock of the investing community.

^Though, Apple is valued to 1700% of its annual income (yes, discounting expenses). The countries' worth are ranked by GDP. So that Apple's stock value is higher than the GDP of some countries isn't as surprising. Still somewhat cool, though.

But then again by the same logic, taking up a $10 million loan, use the bills as firewood for igniting your house, and then hire a lawyer to sue the bank because the bills were so flammable is worth more than Greece, becuase its debt is higher than its GDP, giving it a (huge) negative value.

Exactly. That's why some of the ERM II countries still have to wait to get the Euro (Like Lithuania, Latvia, and some others) because of the Debt-to-GDP ratio (and inflation and some other stuff, too).

Apple's stock price is crazy inflated and even if they may be worth a certain amount, most people don't realize that Apple's equity is tied into many assets that are intangible, as well as stuff that is being held for the long term. The stock price enables Apple to maintain dominance, and do things like file injunctions against Samsung and all the crazy tech litigation on intangible property.

Ugh... it's all just a big pain in the ass. (I'll still love to experience Apple internally if I get that internship)

Ok so yesterday I went to the pool to swim laps, and there were these two hot girls there, about my age.  I was the only boy their age in the pool, so after lounging in the lanes for a few laps they went to harrass the (male) lifeguards.  They managed to seduce one into jumping into the pool to join them (against the rules) and the other one was just mesmerized.  Today I found out someone had reported them and the one that jumped into the pool got fired.
