Maybe you could close submissions when you get up to a certain number. That way it doesn't vary so much in work for the updaters (inc. you!)

I just don't have the time (wow, I never thought I'd see myself write that one ) to look over submissions for the next 3 days so I think it'd be better just to get rid of this batch of songs.

Besides, you're getting updates almost weekly so it's not that long to wait.
