One last thing—what do you think about changing the Layer 1 melody notes into whole notes in m1, m3, m5, etc.? They can easily be held down with pedal, or if not with pedal, then held down with the right hand while the left hand plays some of the lower notes in the RH staff. I like it; that's what I originally had I think, but I wasn't sure if that was realistic with the layer two notes. If you're fine with it, I think whole notes are more true to the original composition.
