I'm kind of shocked that Contra music isn't anywhere to be found among all the NES classic titles on this site.

This one is kind of a bear to play, so I included fingerings that I use on all those pentatonic 4ths. I wasn't sure about key signature. Seems to start in F-dorian, then we got C-dorian and finally end in G natural minor. I just used the minor key signatures for F, C and G.

For what it's worth, we do actually have a couple Contra sheets onsite: https://www.ninsheetmusic.org/download/pdf/2089

It's actually a pretty decent arrangement for such an older sheet, but could probably use some tuning up. The way I see it, you basically have two options: either submit this as a replacement (one of the admins can probably help you on the backend without you having to resubmit) or delete this submission and just choose another sheet. Either way I'd let someone else know before trying to do something yourself. Just figured I'd let you have a chance to decide before moving forward :)

Actually, the one on site is for the Arcade game. QueueDr1zzl3 is submitting the NES version

Also for future reference QueueDr1zzl3, please post a YouTube source audio link

Oh, my bad. Not as up on my Contra knowledge it seems. But my point still kinda stands? The track isn't much different between versions from the looks of it...I suppose you could still submit this version but I figured it'd be best to let Queue know about it before we properly reviewed the sheet

Hi, just stopping by to say that this is incorrect. The site has erroneously labeled Thomas Wilson's sheets under the arcade original when they are, in fact, based on the NES version's soundtrack (don't know why I never noticed it before, but just look at their copyright info: 1988 instead of 1987). And they're not just in different keys, either, the Jungle track in particular has some bits that didn't make it into the later arrangements. I don't know if this sheet needs to be re-submitted as a replacement, but in the very least, the console tag on the site needs to be updated.

Thank you for bringing this to light. I did a quick listen through, and it's quite obvious the sheets on site are from the game's NES version. All of the sheets for Contra have now been correctly as from the NES version.

I am also marking this submission as a replacement, since the NES version is in fact on site. Since Thomas Wilson's sheet was already identified in the replacement audit, no objections about recency of the original sheet.

Question for QueueDr1zzl3: the NES soundtrack is credited to Hidenori Maezawa and Kiyohiro Sada. Is there a reason you have Kazuki Muraoka listed as the composer? He is listed as the composer of the arcade version, but the other two did the NES soundtrack.

Also, I think the year at the bottom of the sheet should be 1988, since that was the year the NES version released.
