Pardon my opinion but I think that's a little too harsh. I really don't think your mom's demise was your fault and in no way at all does that make u an ungrateful b****. I'm sure she wouldn't want you to blame yourself. :/

So there's my attempt at being uplifting today. I hope you can find a way to have a solid day regardless. As in, I'm wishing you a happy birthday, even if it may not end up being so happy ultimately. If nothing else, it's a case of "It's the thought that counts."

Don't worry about it and I would suggest at least for your mom's sake, don't punish yourself. I don't think she would want that no matter what had happened. The pain of losing her in the first place is plenty enough I'm sure.

I wish I could. 
The thing is, when I punish myself, it also relieves me. It kind of feels good to punish myself. I don't know what is wrong with me.
