You don't have to get the idea of marching, it's just something different. Some of the arrangements of different songs that are used are quite interesting.

ya, marching band is soo much better than symphonic. we have marching one semester, symphonic the other. marching band is so much fun! ^_^

Actually as a sophomore I got into every band class that my school has available. Marching, Jazz, Symphonic, Concert, and Popular Music. So fuck you.

My school has an administration full of assholes so one of the first things they cut was IB Music rather than the useless PE or Sci Fi writing classes.

EDIT:

Went out and exchanged my phone for one with working vibrate, exchanged the monitor for one that will actually mount, and swapped my 9500 GT for a much better 9800 GT.

I kinda didn't like percussion ensemble. Not that it's not a good idea, it's just... I'm not sure what it was. I think it was the way that my director handled things. It almost didn't seem like music, some did, but not all of it.

Wind ensembles though, was pretty good. Then again, our band sucked pretty badly at almost everything. Oh well.
