Today was an awesome day. Today was a career highlight. This is why:

Over the past year and a half, our big band has been working with the famous jazz pianist, composer, and one of my all-time heroes in the music world, Joe LoCascio. Overall, this guy is simply the best example of a musician there is. He wrote us nine charts-nine original pieces of music, written specifically for us. After many hours of rehearsal and in the studio (and the practice room!) we managed to record them for a CD.

Today we released that CD, and had a big release concert/party at a restaurant. We had three groups play, with the final one being the big band. We played two sets, one consisting of standards and original tunes written by band members (one by me) and the second contained tracks from the CD. The whole thing was a great success, but I think the greatest moment was when Mr. LoCascio met me after the performance to tell me how much he had enjoyed the tune I had written, since he had never heard it before. Man, sincere complements are great, but coming from one of your greatest idols just...its a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life.

As I understand it (which is not at all), it's basically an imaginary currency made to represent actual currency which in itself is only a representaion of the gold behind it.

Yes, and the more it gets associated with drugs, kiddie porn, and lots of other highly illegal activities, (which it will, as it is widely used for all such things that reside in Tor or some sort of other Deep Web location) the more serious investors will be abandoning ship (as has already happened a few times previously).
