My only request is that if we do the jazz arrangement one could we like not use the words "jazzy" "jazz-ify" etc? It's the cringiest thing ever.

Shouldn't jazzify be a subcategory of weird time sig? Because one of the possible ways to switch to a different time sig is to make a jazz version of a song. So, I just feel that they should be the same thing on the poll.

Do uncommon divisions of a common time signature count? Constantly switching time signatures, common and/or uncommon? Would the goal be to make the time signature sound natural or intentionally jarring?

I believe (unless I was horribly mistaken) that it would just be a different time sig than the original song.

I didn't say they were the same thing. I said that one way to do one of them is to do the other. There are ways that don't involve doing both, many of them, but I just think that they should be in the same poll thing.

Again, I said one, one way to change the time sig is to jazzify. I never said it was the only way. In fact, I even just said the opposite of that. That there are many ways to change the time sig. It's just one way, so I believe they should be put together. I don't care if he does put them together or not. It's just my opinion that they should be.

That would be something to be discussed amongst the judges before the scoring system is developed. I'd say it could be swung any way you're wanting, since the contests typically have a big degree of freedom. To me, personally, I would count both of those situations. As far as the last question goes, I can't say one way or another... but it's a good question!

I think the real question here is, whichever one we end up doing, can we do the other as long as it also falls under the category of the one we are?
