Help! / Re: Rolled Chords?
August 19, 2008, 10:05:55 PM
Woohoo!  :D    Finally got it to work. It was the weirdest thing too, I was going to try the glissando thing, that froze it too...

BUT, I just kept it all non-rolled till the very end, added them in, and saved it. I said to myself, "what the heck!" and played it.... No freezing all the way through!

Thanks for your help you guys.

Also, since we're kinda on the subject, the Ice Cavern thing doesn't really have a bass except for the wind. Do you think there's a way to reproduce the sound on Piano?  ???

I've been using the mouse, and I move them using the mouse. Aesthetically it looks great, but when I play it back, it freezes.

It DOES cause freezing problems, whenever I try and play back what I have so far, it freaks out and closes. Any way to get around this? (And don't say "don't play it back" because that's not really a solution!) :-\

I figured out the problem. The rolled-chord articulation (The wavy line) was too short, so I couldn't tell if the notes were being pressed at different times. I just lengthened it and it worked.  :P

Thanks for your help you guys.

I think that's how you do it, but I suck at that kind of stuff. Tell me if it works!

Help! / Rolled Chords?
August 18, 2008, 11:39:40 AM
Is there any way to put Rolled Chords into Finale Notepad? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolled_chord) I tried the articulation tool, but it didn't do anything. I know a way you CAN reproduce the sound, but it would make things look cleaner and simpler if I could do this.

(I'm arranging Ocarina of Time: Ice Cavern)

I used to be good at them but only after I looked up how to solve them. It makes me wanna go back and figure it out the right way. Then I could be like, "In your face rubik's cube solving 3 year old!" >:(

I was wearing my headphones backwards at first and when Luigi said, "Now I'll move over to your righthand side..." I was like, whoa there Luigi, that's the left! Anyways, that was amazing. And I also was freaked out when he whispered.

Off-Topic / Re: Strange Dreams
April 06, 2008, 01:16:58 PM
I have strange dreams  :o

Once upon a time I went to bed and had this dream

I was babysitting at this old granny's house and there was this little girl there. All inside the house were these ornate glass bowls of candy. The candy was those nasty chalky valentines hearts. Anyways, the granny told me, "Don't eat any of those candies, they're highly addictive!" She told me that if the little girl ate any of the candy, the only way to cure her of the addiction was to put her in the DVD player. I said, "Okay, whatever!" and the granny left. So next thing I know this girl is shoving her face full of these candies! So I say "Alright little girl, in the DVD player you go." and I put her in the DVD player (I still don't understand how it all worked) a blue light flashed, and the DVD player opened up and she was gone! I kinda started freaking out and then I stopped caring. I decided I should try the candy because I hadn't eaten in a while. All the sudden I realize I'm addicted now! I freak out because I know I won't fit in the DVD player. So I run outside and flag down this female cop. I say "Cop lady, take me to the hospital, I'm addicted to heart-shaped-candies!" I don't think she hears me, because she takes off in the opposite direction. It turns out she is actually a man and she... he is in a race. I help him out by throwing these oranges (which I was apparently holding the whole time) at the other racers. We end up driving off the road into a river. He tells me to go on without him. I start walking because I'm tired, in the direction we were racing. Eventually I come to the finish line and the guy there told me I won an air hockey table.

I have fun dreams  ;D

Off-Topic / Re: What are you reading?
April 06, 2008, 01:00:37 PM
The book I'm reading is called I, Lucifer. No its not demonic  :P. Its pretty funny actually. God gives Satan a chance to return to heaven, but he has to pass a test. The test is, he possesses a mortals body for a month and if he goes the entire time without committing a deadly sin, he gets to return to heaven. But he decides to wreak havoc on the world instead of be good. Its hard to read though, apparently Lucifer knows a lot of big words.  :'(

Its for school, we have to select a prose piece to read aloud.

Help! / Re: Piano HELP!!!
April 06, 2008, 12:14:53 AM
When I was still taking piano lessons I ALWAYS memorized the music I was playing. I got really good at the songs I had learned but I was never one of those 'real' piano players who could just play the music for the first time off the page. I feel like memorization prevents you from really learning to read music and play 'correctly'. But that's just me.

And I suck at piano, so what do I know.  ;)

I'm new to the site. Buuuuutttt...

I have a shiny new SMG - Battlerock Galaxy arrangement! ;D

Its done but I suppose I should have somebody look at it.

Edit: I have come to the realization that my arrangement sucked! Its okay though because many other people are finished with their arrangements anyways. SO!
