Personally I'm very excited for Mario Maker 2. I had a lot of fun with the original and it let me scratch that designer itch I get from time to time. With all the new features they teased, plus whatever else is waiting to be unveiled, I'll be spending a lot of time making levels. Maybe now I can remake SM64 within Mario Maker like I always wanted in the original.

While we are sorry that you've had a submission languish for so long, and you do have legitimate points brought up about it, I want to just say a couple of things.

NSM is a community driven site, managed by volunteers whose time is finite. We are all doing the best we can, but sometimes things slip through the cracks. That being said, while we understand it's easy to get impatient we ask that you please contact and updater if you feel your sheet has been idling too long. Sometimes long/complicated sheets are neglected because they tend to be a major time-sink for updaters. Yes, they are expected to check all sheets that come our way, but they only have so much time to work. It's sometimes easier to work on sheets from other skilled arrangers because they need less tinkering and they can get through more sheets in less time. This isn't ideal, but we're human and it happens.

That said, the updaters are very open to check your sheets and work with you if you ask politely. Sometimes they just need a nudge, maybe even several. However, I find people are less inclined to work with you if you keep insinuating that they're ignoring you on purpose in favor of their own sheets. It's not fair to them for all the work they do nor is it fair to the numerous other members that they help on a daily basis.

If you want to see more rapid action, continue being proactive within the community. All our members help each other and review each others' sheets before they submit. This greatly reduces the workload for the updater and frees them up to check more sheets. What's more, our updaters are more visibly active on Discord than the forums because, as previously stated, it's an easier medium to talk to arrangers and fix sheets in real time. I encourage you to join us on Discord and get more involved with our other arrangers; the more you give, the more you get.

Your grievances have been heard, and the updaters will work to try and fix the system we have currently to avoid future cases like yours.

So it's been a while since I posted here, but that's mostly because I try to avoid posting incomplete works. I have a few projects I'm working on that'll need more time still to complete them properly, but here they are for you to listen to.

This symphony is a monster but the first four movements are essentially complete, pending any additional revisions following the completion of the finale.

Mega Man 1 "Ending" for String Quartet

This is an arrangement of the Mega Man 1 "Ending" I made for string quartet. Nothing particularly extraordinary about it, but something I wrote to complete a set for an ensemble I'm working with.

Solstice, A Symphonic Poem

"Solstice" is a revision of an earlier work of mine called "Apollo". I reduced the orchestration and otherwise slimmed up the work, but no major changes were made to the core music. Each section is meant to evoke a different mood for each part of the day that passes.

The general idea behind this suite is that each movement was written very late at night, in that haze of exhaustion and creativity. It's scored for a double string ensemble, though it could be played by a typical symphonic string section, divided evenly. I intend to have 6-7 total movements in the work.
I - Dawn, A bit odd to start a work called the "Midnight Suite" with something called "Dawn", but the music isn't intended to represent late night happenings so here you go.
II - Still, Actually the first of the set to be written, this one is more meditative and tries to reach into the aether.
IV - Cascade, Very lively, I tried to evoke birds in flight and the patterns they make as they soar across the sky.

This is a fun ditty. A few comments:

Dynamic markings for voice parts always go above their staff, this is to avoid collisions with the text. The vocal line is also missing some slur markings, mostly around those held notes.

Based on the range I'm assuming this is best suited for a tenor? If such is the case use a suboctave treble clef for the vocal line. It could also be done with a baritone, but given most of the action is around middle C I'd err on a tenor singing it in this key and range.

Other than that it's a fun song, and if I still sang I might've given it a go. The galloping nature makes it a fun patter song, though I can tell it'll take a lot of work to make sure the text isn't muddy at this tempo.
