I would guess that's more along with how really only the XBONE and PS4 are competiting with each other, and they would choose one over the other mostly because of brand since at the present time there are no good exclusives on either.

Meanwhile Nintendo is sort of just on its own thing, without the same range of multiplatform titles you see on the other two, but with its own exclusives.  I still don't believe they truly compete anymore, they just target something different.

it's just that if you want your item to sell it has to be a bid and if you set it up as an auction you don't make as much money

You could try craigslist (though that is kinda sketchy) look out for scams!
Check if your town/state has it's own website for that. For example, Utah/Idaho has KSL.com where people buy and sell stuff and it is much more reliable and less scammy than craigslist.
Also try Facebook. I have seen a few Facebook classifieds pages specific to certain areas/cities.
