The Deku Trombonist

You may only make one post in this topic with your submissions. Subsequent posts will be deleted. Edit your posts to respond to any comments I may have. This is not for holding discussions. General questions go in the Questions Thread. Specific questions can be PM'd.

For the next update, you may post  3 New songs + ∞ Replacements you think are ready for submission.
So basically, you can submit as many songs as you want, but only 3 new ones.

Please indicate if your submission is a replacement, it makes things much easier.

I HAVE UPDATED THE FORMATTING GUIDELINES. READ THEM HERE AND FOLLOW THEM!

Any extra posts will be deleted.  I will edit your post with rejection reasons, or to tell you it's accepted.  I may accept all or just one or none of your submissions.

So, in a lovely step-by-step process:
1.  Perfect up to 3 songs for submission
2.  Make sure they are formatted PERFECTLY
3.  Post links to the submissions here, mus and midi
4.  Did I mention I want them perfectly formatted?  Repeat steps 2 and 3 if you didn't listen to me
5.  I will review submissions and post acceptance/rejection feedback whenever I can.
6.  When we've got enough, I'll close the thread to any new submissions. (You can still make changes to your existing submissions.)
7.  I'll wait at least 1 day if any modifications ned to be made and then all accepted songs will be uploaded and we'll start this circus again

Got it?  If yes, make your post and submit your songs!  If not, PM me with questions.

Questions I've Received (or made up):
-Do I need to break up a medley? No, it counts as one submission
-Do I have to include copyright and the site URL?  Yes.  The copyright is just <Publisher> © <Year Published> without the <> obviously.  The URL is http://www.ninsheetm.us/
-How do I make a MIDI? Open the MUS in Finale, click File>Save As... and choose MIDI from the dropdown list.
-When can we submit? Now!  Just do it.
-Can I still submit after you've swept-through the posts? Yes.  You can submit up until I post that the thread is closed for submissions.

I will post a list of accepted arrangement under here as they are accepted.

Submissions. I may go back and fix some things for some replacements, but it just depends on how much time I have.
[GB] Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal - "Azalea Town" - Thomas Wilson Midi
[GB] Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal - "Bug-Catching Contest" - Thomas Wilson Midi
[GB] Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal - "Burned Tower" - Thomas Wilson Midi

Deku:
Woo free time! And now on with the show

Azalea Town: Yup Accepted. I took the liberty making the first measure a pickup and changed a couple of the tiny note values to appoggiaturas (grace notes or whatever you wanna call them).

Bug-Catching Contest: The link is broken :(

Burned Tower: Accepted.

I can't get the link to the file either... Let me pm some people and see what I can do.

Submission

[SNES] Mega Man 7 Opening Stage  Replacement

Deku:
Why did you change it? The one on the site is fine.

Sipan:
because I made a mistake in measure 37-42

Deku:
There are no mistakes, it's just a different instrument that plays at the same time as the bass. But if you really want me to include it, I will.

Sipan:
So you accept

Deku:
Yeah, ok

[SNES]Kirby Super Star- Marshmallow Castle [MUS][MID]

[NES]Castlevania- Heart of Fire (replacement) [MUS][MID]

[NES]Castlevania- Out of Time (replacement) [MUS][MID]

Deku:

Marshmallow Castle: Good

Heart of Fire: The staves aren't set out right for piano music (barlines need to extend through both staves and you need the bracket at the beginning of each line). I'd suggest making a new document out of it.

Out of Time: Same sort of thing as Heart of Fire.

Also, on a side note, if you're just going to give a song a facelift, I don't really think it's fair to credit yourself. But if you start changing the notes, then just credit yourself. There's only really a point in crediting more than one person if you actually work together. I used to do the same thing but Concerto advised against it so I figure what he says goes.

Heart of Fire
Out of Time

and I will stop doing that from now on.

Deku:
I didn't mean don't ever put your name, but just use your judgement as to whether or not you think you should be credited  ;)

And don't forget to bold the Song Title

Here they are!

Deku:
209: Eh, fine whatever. Just try to write your rhythms correctly, it's a bit of a pain to fix.

Evergrande: Fixed a couple of playability issues as far as the way stuff was written goes. If a person cannot physically hold notes through whil playing other notes at the same time, then don't write it that way. Also, make sure your second layer notes are lined up properly with the first layer notes when the rhythms are the same or when they are on the beat together.

Woody Woods: The red notes just complicate things too much and raise the difficulty level beyond what it needs to be. And you can't even hear them in the original. Do something about those and I'll accept it.
Check out my arrangements! I mean it! Check them out!

SlowPokemon

Deku, all three SMG2 songs you submitted are composed by Ryo Nagamatsu, in case you had something different.

Fuck logic, that shit is boring, lame and does not always support my opinions.
