That last case is what made the game worth playing.

Eh, don't sell Justice For All too short. It's probably the weakest in the original trilogy, and I agree that the finale was probably the best part about it, but it's still a great game and had a lot of other good attributes including:

  • Pretty good music, especially court themes that don't really sound much like any other songs in the series
  • Great character design
  • A case that further details the Fey family and ends up connecting well with the plot of Trials and Tribulations
  • A rather humorous, if a bit brief and silly, opening case
  • Franziska
  • The whole premise of the 3rd case is pretty cool, even if you didn't like it you have to admit that what it tried to be was pretty unique

Justice For All has a lot of merits imo. For me, it ties with Apollo Justice as the weakest main series entry, but the last case is also like my favorite episode of the whole franchise (or one of them at least) and it's also got a lot of charm and humor. Case in point (no pun intended): no such thing as a bad Ace Attorney game.

I kind of feel the same way about AJ, but I felt that, at most times, the high points outweighed the low. There were some just plain bizarre twists that didn't sit right with me, and the third case was a little off, but, otherwise, it was pretty good.
JfA, however, was a bit of a mess, imo. The first case was slightly amusing, but otherwise a pain. The whole bananas thing made no sense.
I can't really explain why, but I hated the second case. Yes, it may have given Mya some backstory, but it's bad enough to be one of my least favorite cases in the entire series.
The third case started well, but ended badly.
And finally, the fourth case made the entire game worth playing.
It's about tied with Investigations 1 for the worst in the franchise for me.

Of course. What else?

Thought Mael and Blue and the others might find this interesting, though I'm sure most of you already know all this, if not have a copy of this exact list xD. I put together the complete chronology of the Ace Attorney series with a list of dates because I was bored at work, just in case anyone wants to use it for something? Nice.
Wouldn't it be awesone if The Great Ace Attorney was released on the date 1-1 takes place on?

SlowPokemon

Game Informer ranks the top ten Ace Attorney witnesses. Watch out--spoilers for the first four games throughout.

My thoughts:
Spoiler
It's kind of bullshit that they completely left out the second and fifth games. Like, De Killer's appearance in "Farewell, My Turnabout" didn't make the cut, but Victor Kudo did? I understand Tigre's inclusion after reading the description--that was an interesting cross-examination for many reasons. But really, De Killer and Oldbag should have made the cut in my opinion. Otherwise it's a pretty decent list.

De Killer really should have made it on the list.
Imo, neither Kudo nor Redd White should have made it onto the list

Spoiler
Im suprised no daliha hawthorne
Larry... I wouldn't put on the list.
No Frank Sawhit? (that toupee xD)
Also speaking from case 2, there's a few others.
Edgeworth maybe too?

A quick q for my AA enthusiasts:

I'm playing Justice for All right now and I already have Apollo justice (or whatever that ones called). Should I move straight to that one or would it be better to wait and buy Trials and Tribulations first?

Maelstrom

It don't matter.
I'd say play T&T first, but if you have to go out of your way to get it, play AJ first.

It's definitely preferable to play Trials and Tribulations since some elements of AJAA won't be as good for you. But AJAA contains no spoilers for Trials and Tribulations, either, since they're basically completely unrelated, so it's not like it would be the end of the world.

Trials and Tribulations marks the end of what's officially known as the Phoenix Wright trilogy, with everything after that kind of going in a different direction. So I recommend playing those three in order first.
