Come in, check your bag, and take a stroll through the NinSheetMusic Museum!

In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the website, we have constructed a fine museum, where one can stroll the halls of the past, pondering on the contributions and milestones that have made NinSheetMusic what it is today.

Here, you will observe backdrops of the website transition as you promenade through the museum, observing how NinSheetMusic has evolved from a fledgling website into the grand community that you see before you this day!
Read all about the various contributions of many key figures, the important milestones, and the numerous high-quality site improvements, whose releases all just so happen to coincide with the 1st of April! (Strange coincidence, eh wot?)
And discover how the number of masterful arrangements in our archives went from naught, as all things must start out, to having swelled to over five grand in number!

As you leave the museum, humbled by the past and filled with awe and inspiration, please enjoy a visit to our complementary gift shop, where you may procure facsimiles of any of our over 5,000 high-quality pieces of sheet music, with no charge to you for your visit today.

Thank you for your visit to our museum today and for your continued patronage of NinSheetMusic. And, in the immortal words our most esteemed avian curator,
Quote"Eeek! A bug...! Ah, I beg your pardon! I just don't like handling these things much!"

Cutting it super close, but I made it! :)
Gotta roll with my cliché Mario Party for this project. I've been working on "Spiny Desert" for a couple years, so I'm happy to finally finish it and send it through! :D

Now, as a possible second sheet, here's one from Mario Party 7! If Spiny Desert is too much, I'll retract this submission and just send it through normally.

Project Archive / cacabish's Halloween Sheets
October 02, 2022, 11:38:21 AM
I finally went back and finished Yoshi's Crafted World this year and, while it's soundtrack can't hold a candle to its predecessor, Yoshi's Woolly World, it's not to bad (just a bit too simple and too repetitive). And this track in particular is quite spooky and plays during one of the scariest levels I've ever played. And given it's relative simplicity, it was a no-brainer! :)

"Nighttime Crafts"
[SWITCH] Yoshi's Crafted World

(Note: PDF not guaranteed to be up-to-date)

Yes, its subtitle is "Track 1". I looked on the in-game music player and that's what they call it. Real boring if you ask me, but that's what it is. :-\

Project Archive / cacabish's Halloween Sheets
October 05, 2021, 06:36:55 PM
This year, I've got two Halloween sheets, both from Mario Party! :D Gee, what a surprise...

The larger piece is a spoOoOoky board's theme (which will also be included in the upcoming Mario Party Superstars game)!
And the shorter is just a 4-measure little ditty that plays in the background when you're deciding which of your friendships you'd like to end. No biggie.

Overview

This is a guide on one particular method of how to format a MuseScore sheet so as to try to minimize the amount of work required in Finale or Finale Notepad.
Why? Because MuseScore is awesome and Finale Notepad is not! So, let's try to maximize the amount of stuff we can do in the superior program and leave only necessary fixes to the inferior one. 8)

This guide will cover the following things:
  • A method of creating a new sheet to get all the information on the sheet
  • Applying a Style file to a new or pre-existing sheet
  • Useful formatting options in MuseScore
  • Exporting to MusicXML and post-export cleaning via MusicXML Cleaner
  • Importing into Finale/Finale Notepad, common final adjustments, and tips
For this guide, I will be using MuseScore v3.6.2 and Finale Notepad.
Different versions of MuseScore may have more or fewer issues than listed here. I'm also going to assume to know how to use MuseScore well enough (like how to add notes, articulations, slurs, etc.).
As for Finale, full Finale has tools to fix every and any issues, but Finale Notepad does not so I will be taking the lesser of the two here and cater the guide around Finale Notepad.

I am also going to avoid going to into gory details here. I go into more depth in the slides that I used for the presentation that motivated this guide. You can find the slides [here]. You should check them out!

Project Archive / cacabish's Colors Sheet
July 20, 2021, 12:19:58 PM
Here is first (and probably definitely only) sheet for the Colors project from the wonderful game, Bug Fables! :D
I'll try to keep the attached PDF file up-to-date with the .musx revisions, so that people can just look at that.

"Blessed Golden Lands"*
[PC] Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling
[MUSX] [PDF]

*The actual title of this piece is unclear. According to the composer's bandcamp, the title is just "Golden Lands", whereas according to the character you talk to in the game to set the music, it's called "Blessed Golden Lands".
I've chosen to use the latter on the logic that anyone playing the game and seeing the song title's there would be motivated to search for that and not just "Golden Lands". If you believe it should be the other title, do let me know!

I swear I don't only do Mario Party sheets.
This is the main theme for one of the boards of the game. It's a nice spooky waltz and definitely has that Halloween flair. Enjoy!

Welcome to cacabish's Arrangements Thread!

Hello! Here you can find all my arrangements of various pieces of video game music!
Please note that I am still very much a novice when it comes to arranging, thus, I am always looking for ways to improve and grow, so, if you have suggestions or comments any for the pieces below, feel free to let me know!

Legend

Black TitleOn-site. The corresponding links will go to the on-site files. Enjoy!
Green TitleNot on-site yet. These pieces are almost ready for submission and may just need small revisions. I'd appreciate second opinions and feedback on these particular pieces!
Yellow TitleIn submissions. Check the submissions thread for the posted piece!
Orange TitleNot on-site yet. These pieces have a ways to go before submission and likely need major revisions or reworking. Play and examine at your own risk!
Strikethrough TitleObsolete or replaced. May these sheets rest in peace.

Note: Sheets are organized first by series alphabetically, then by game alphabetically, then by title alphabetically. One-off or uncategorized pieces will be at the bottom under "Miscellaneous".

Now, without further ado, enjoy the music!
